Very poor mileage

published

These came fitted as OEM on my Hyundai Genesis. 13,000km and they are certainly more than 50% gone. Anyone that knows the Genesis would understand it's hardly a performance vehicle, more like driving a pillow, so it isn't hard driving I can be certain of that. From what I can see, the Michelin Primacy 3 is the pick of the tyres for the Genesis so will be trying them.

Purchased in August 2021.

Hi Sean, thanks so much for your review of these tyres. It's great to hear that the Dunlop Sport Maxx GTs were able to give you the grip, handling and performance you require for your BMW 3 Series. Happy driving!

Worst tyre I’ve ever experienced.

published

My 1979 Pontiac trans am has Nitto NT555’s fitted and drove great. I was told by Ozzy tyres that these Dunlop’s in 275 40 18s were a fantastic tyre. What tot as it feels like the blocks are to soft and the car tram tracks terribly. I had a wheel alignment to double check and still it would twitch left to right on most roads. I fitted the old NT’s back on and the problem was solved. Now to get my money back! Wish me luck...

I have had these tyres,on my Mercedes CLA 250 Sorts since new and its now done 27,000 and they are all down to the wear band. I have been happy with the handling in the dry and wet but not the wear. Expected to get much more K's out of them.
Compared to price they are expensive. I now have to replace mine but not with Dunlop SP

So much happier without these tyres!

Terrible tyres! OEM on my GTI PP as 225/35/19. Constantly losing traction in wet and dry, and very harsh ride. Almost completely worn out at less than 20,000 km. Changed to ContiSportContact 5 as 225/40/18, and wow! Now drives like it's on rails, and much nicer ride (although going from 19" to 18" probably played a part). I realise now how much I was driving on eggshells with the Dunlops, constantly having to back off. And when they lost traction, the car often became unpredictable. Seemed noisy too. Never getting Dunlops again!

I can't fault these tyres.

I'm about to replace my first set at 90,000km - amazing as I was expecting half of this distance.

Very quiet on the road for most of their life. A little noise towards the end when my alignment was slightly out. These tyres stick to the road!

I would do about 60% country and 40% city driving. I also get very good fuel consumption at 8.6l/100km Diesel.

I've just ordered my next set.

Not Terrible

Got these as OEM tyres on my MY11 Golf GTI Adidas. They seemed to be plenty grippy for the Australian roads, but I was concerned about the wear rate. So I babied them for the last year or so and managed to get about 50, 000kms out of them. Will be replacing the with Michelin Pilot Sport 3's, mainly due to price. Have experienced some scalloping and road noise over the last 12 months or so.

Noisy and poor duarability

published

These were standard on my E Coupe Mercedes.
After 13,000 KMs they got really noisy, tested by MB who said they get noisy after approx 12000 KMs.
They put 4 new tyres on to test and the noise went away.
Did 2 trips Melourne - Gold coast, normal legal speed, types now upto 21000 KMs and have almost worn out.
Traction control comes on heaps when take off quick,
Tryes never abused.

Good grip but NOIST fater awhile and wear out way to quick.
Great grip
Noisy, wear out too quick

Tyres showed "unusual wear" at 10k when i needed to get one replaced after getting a bulge in it. Rotated then, but by 20k Jax tyres said because of the sawtoothing they could not rotate again. Have been putting up with droning noise at 80-85db since 10k because at $500ea they're too expensive in my rim size to replace. Has done 37k in 12 months, mostly long runs at an easy 80klm/hr.

expensive, lose grip, saw tooth from the large inner blocks, extremely noisy
