Paying for quality
Having used the Dyson Stick Vacuum (Animal) a few years back, we recently purchased this model because we wanted more power, without the need to constantly recharge. The machine vacuums surfaces carpeted surfaces beautifully. The only downside is storing it away as it takes up a lot more space (we live in an apartment, so space is a big deal). We are still happy with the machine, as it is fantastic quality and will serve us for many years.

Amazing!
Amazing suction! The best vacuum I’ve ever used! Will definitely be recommending this product to friends and family!
I use this mainly on tiles but it’s also great on carpet and rugs
Easy to clean, no filters and lightweight
Perfect for large or small areas, I wouldn’t use anything else!

Great vacuum on hard and soft floors
Very happy with this vacuum, it pretty much does all it says it will do.
I do find that if it tips over it doesn't always right itself as its supposed to. And its kind of hard to empty in terms of the dirt and fluff gets stuck in the barrel.

Its good but not great
Im happy with this purchase and dont regret it however i thought it will be more powerful from all the reviews ive read online. Also it is quite pricey considering that the suction isnt as strong as i would like it to be. Wish the cord is a little longer as i dont always need to unplug it each time i go to a different section of my house

Not just a big name
Although you're paying a bit of a premium price for the name brand, the quality of the Dyson is undeniable. Its also a perfect size to use around the house - not too big, which makes it really easy to manoeuvre around tight or hard to reach spots. Attachments that came with it are also a big plus

Perfect product
I am so happy to have new vacuum. As a house wife, I need a good machine to clean the house. The product saves my time and easy to use it. Of course it has good quality thought it might be a little bit expensive. Why don’t you try it?

Impressed!
This is my second Dyson. The first was an animal upright which i wanted to replace after almost ten years. I have bare floors and area rugs and thought this canister style would be a better option, which it is. I am not exaggerating when I say that this machine has the STRONGEST suction of any vacuum cleaner i have ever used, including my Dyson upright. It pulled fine heavy grit-like stuff out of my rugs that nothing else could have gotten out. it's so strong that it actually lifts room-size rugs off the floor a bit as you use it. Pulling the t...Read more
rigger on the handle is a must on those occasions, as pulling the trigger cuts the suction at the cleaner head and allows you to keep moving. The rotating brushes work well too, and yet seem relatively soft so I don't fear damage to the rugs or floor. I rate suction power the single most important feature of a vacuum cleaner. I feel, and know from experience, that a powerful suction keeps my house a lot cleaner with much less dust in the long run. I enjoy using this. It follows me around easily and is easier to use than the upright. It's cord is not as long as the upright, but it automatically retracts perfectly, and i will take that over length of cord when I had to bend over and laboriously wrap the cord on the handle of the upright when finished. With this model, you just push a button, and zip, the cord is back inside the thing. Its amazing to think they pack so much power into something so relatively small and light.Similar opinion? Very good
Have been using this product for over a year now with no complaints. It works well on both carpets and timber floors although I prefer it’s use on carpets. Needs to emptied frequently but this is fairly straight forward to do. It is not too noisy and light enough to be easily manoeuvred in the narrow areas

Solid machine
It's easy to move around, and is as loud as you would expect a vacuum to be.
It rolls through our 3 bedroom wooden floor house easily, cleaning in between each floorboard well and removing dog hair from the floor and rugs with ease.
The car kit additions are nice and make cleaning the car mats and floors easy.

Fantastic Vacuum
This vacum is very light, but powerful vacuum. It is vertical easy to navigate around furniture and does a great job of cleaning floors. We have a pug which shed hair like there is no tomorrow, our Dyson does an amazing job of picking up all of the pugs hair. I cannot recommend this vacuum highly enough.

Perfect.
This vacuum is crazy powerful. I love it. It collects everything and is so easy to use. It comes with so many different parts & extras to help get into difficult places. It is a little heavy so I wouldn’t recommend this one for the elderly however other models I’m sure would be as brilliant.

You pay for what you get
This is the second Dyson I have owned. As a large family of 8 with animals it is certainly put through its paces. I do find however that the big ball is not as ergonomically pleasing and due to the many swivel areas the lack of stability often leaves me with a sore shoulder.

You don’t always get what you paid for!
We have just recarpeted entire 2 story house and yes, we know that we created work for ourselves by choosing a dark colour - but that was the option that worked best with the new colour scheme. The carpet is high quality, New Zealand wool - short pile. So we thought we’d invest the money and buy top of range vacuum cleaner and ended up getting Dyson cinetic big ball absolute. Design s good and bagless system is a bonus. But - it can’t clean our carpet! It refuses to pick up the many pieces of lint, cotton, and fluff that stand out against the d...Read more
ark colour of the carpet. We go over and over and end up picking these up by hand - very tedious! We perservered for some months but have given up and reverted back to our ducted system with simple, non-mechanical head. This does an infinitely better job than the Dyson which is sadly an expensive bit of clutter!1 comment

Love it
Our old Dyson died, so off we went to check out what was available out there in vacuum world. A lot of Dyson imitations, a lot of good items, and a lot of junk. After a lot of checking and looking it became obvious that Dyson was still the way to go. The new models have replaced a lot of the fidgety item on the older models, the unit no longer tips over, the cleaning system is far better, there is no filter to have to keep clean, the tools are now easier to access and the power seems to have gone up a notch or two. All in all a great product that keeps reinventing itself. I would say that when and if we need another vacuum, it will most likely be a Dyson.

good cleaner
this is the strongest vacuum machine i've used, the quality is good and the flexibility is good. though the cleaning of drum is a bit troublesome. you have to use the stick they provided to clean the drum and that is when dust will fly all over you and the area surrounded.

Great
One of the best vacuums I have ever used. Love the look of it and the feel of it. It glides easily over carpet and tyles. It's easy to empty the bag. I find the filters a little tricky to clean. Easy to store in cupboard. Would recommend this always

Still the best for all home uses!
This is our second Dyson and, once again, it has surpassed our expectations when vacuuming around the house. The different attachments provided (and boy are there many with the ‘Absolute’ model!) allow us to effortlessly vacuum the tiled floor downstairs without any scratching, and get a deep clean on the carpet upstairs. We didn’t even realise the carpet was that dirty!
This model seems more powerful than the previous one we had (DC39), and is slightly quieter too. The negatives are still there; the ‘hygienic, hassle-free’ emptying of the b...Read more
arrel into the bin inevitably doesn’t work as well as advertised, covering the opening hinged lid in dust, and never quite emptying without you having to put your hand in and pull out the remaining stuck pieces of dirt. This model’s plastic creaks like the last, and some parts, including the on/off and cable retraction buttons, feel flimsier than the last time. However Dyson are good at replacing broken parts, as we’ve found out in the past, so you’re all good if something breaks and you’re in warranty. The cable retraction was retracting the cable without us pressing the button when we first got it, however that has now corrected itself - fingers crossed it stays that way! We were sad to see in the shop that the new Dyson’s don’t come with the excellent large turbine head that came with our last one, rather a ‘multi-floor’ tool that doesn’t look nearly as powerful. We were lucky as the shop we bought it from we’re offering the turbine head free with the ‘Absolute’ purchase. If you have a lot of deep-pile carpet, we’d fully recommend also getting this attachment - it makes life so much easier! As does the included ‘tangle-free mini turbine head’, which means I don’t have to cut my wife’s long hair out from the turbine head runners any more! I’d like to mention that, while this vacuum cleaner is excellent for home use, I am doubtful it would withstand commercial or renovation use, as our last Dyson didn’t. Although Dyson claims to pick up the tiniest particles of dirt and dust, we found that hoovering up too much dust, such as plaster or paint sanding dust, clogged our Dyson and made it unusable. The $40 Ozito from Bunnings did a better job with that sort of dirt. Just my two cents! If you can afford this premium product, you absolutely should purchase it! It makes light work of all home vacuuming jobs and all the attachments that come with it make it excellent value!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Peformance is fine, durability not so.
Happy with the performance, use on tiles and furniture, in a house with pets is great.
Not happy with the construction. Both wheels have snapped off after slightest tap against the bench and theyare only attached to the main body by small amount of plastic.
For the price I would expect something to not be built so cheap.

Dyson a brand you can trust.
The world of vacuum cleaners can be quite a daunting prospect - do you buy the cheap 100$ option that lasts 6 months or consider buying one of these technologically sound creations. I highly recommend if you are going to make an investment to invest in a Dyson.
Dyson has been a trusted brand for quite a long time now and due to its reputation has allowed them some freedom to make innovative leaps forward which have paid off.
This Dyson model is versatile with the additional attachments assisting with hard to reach places- the suction power...Read more

Great Machine
Bought the Dyson for our new home. it is great picks up everything. Very easy to clean. As its a new place though the filter keeps getting filled with dust so i am hoping this will only happen for the first couple of cleans. The filter is removable and easy to clean under cold water. We find after we do this this suction goes back to normal.
so good so far...

Questions & Answers
Tonyasked
Hi there. We are in Christchurch New Zealand. Our Dyson cinematic has great suction for varying periods of time. Then there is a noise like something popping or a membrane being sucked in, and the suction dies almost totally. This can be almost as soon as you turn it on or can be after 5-6 minutes - seldom longer. The dust container is never very full in fact sometimes it happens when there is next to nothing in it, other times when there is a small amount in the dust container. Can you please advise. It has not always been like this. There is no obvious obstruction anywhere.

What is weight of Absolute Barrel vacuum cleaner?
3 answers
Annie, I am not sure about the Absolute as I was reviewing the Allergy...I am not sure if the barrels are the same and its only the attachments that make them different. The only thing I can say, is that they pull around easily and if they do tumble over, they actually turn themselves the right way up. But as to the weight, I have no idea sorry.
Thanks. I bought the Absolute yesterday and it's all good.

Will a Dyson pick up tusks of wool which are being shed from our new wool carpet. If so.which model should I buy ?

Hi Julie here I cannot say whether my Dyson big Ball would do this as I have not had such a problem as I have an older wool 85%nyon15% mix if I remember rightly but to see how well this DYSON collects up my beautiful fluffy cat fur and of course any garden fodder he brings in having sat in the garden bed for some time. Hi John,
Thank you for your query. Any Dyson machine should be able to help with picking up fibres being shed from the carpet. However, a machine with a spinning brush bar will work more efficiently for this purpose.
I would encourage you to email [email protected], and we'll be happy to find t he right Cinetic Big Ball machine for you.
Best wishes,
I have a Dyson Cinetic BigBall Allergy with the turbine brush head and it struggles to pick up white fluff that gets stuck on my black wool carpet. Even after going over it 4-5 times, I still have to bend down to remove bits of fluff manually.
