Fantastic suction, but is it too Fantastic?
This vacuum is great, the suction is great but on certain surfaces the suction is so strong it gets stuck and doesn't move. It does turn upright if it's knocked over but this isn't really an important feature, if it didn't have this feature it wouldnt matter to me. It does pick up so much dust that you don't see and is great on our hard floors. The only issue is the suction which is also the best part. Very torn.

Good suction easy to use
I purchased the big ball allergy to upgrade our dc23 upright. I like the adjustable height of the handle and how it is easy to pull to manoeuvre however it is quite heavy if you need to pick it up out of the way and the head is not a power head like I'm used to. Have done the whole house a few times now and the dustbin is ample and easy to empty, the suction is good (a little too good on floor rugs it likes to pick up off the floor!) and it does really great with my long hair and the cat hair.
The only downsides so far is the cord retracts i...Read more
tself, even if you pull out full length it will go back in little by little and the placement of the addition heads is annoying. It's not easy to use in a tight space like the car but that may take trial an error. Not overly worth the price but it does our family home good and I don't regret it... yet... Goes from tile to carpet ok although very very noisy, particularly on hard floors. I would recommend if it lasts a good 10 years like my last Dyson.Similar opinion? Great vacuum cleaner
We purchase the blue one due to my partner having severe asthma. From the first time I used it my house never felt more clean! My partner went from using his asthma meds once a day to once a week and now it's once a month!! We have both carpet & tiles and it works amazing on both.
We love our Dyson!
The only downside is the noise (I've had Miele previously) and the short power cord.

Frustrated customer
After all the hype on a dyson, we decided to purchase one. I was so excited when I tested it at good guys, their suction on the display dyson was unreal. The biggest mistake I made was not returning it straight away. Waste of money, the suction is shocking do more with a broom then the actual Dyson. I have children youngest being 19months (100's & 1000's on the floor, crumbs etc) need to go over more then a few times to actually get just "some" of the crumbs. Sent it off today after I rang up to complain, as Im hoping I had a faulty one and wi...Read more

Disappointed
I recently purchased a Dyson Big Ball Allergy vacuum, after my previous Dyson, DC 08, purchased in 2002, died. Having loved my Dyson, with it's amazing powerhead, the decision to select another Dyson was an easy one. How wrong was I. This model with its turbo jet sounding motor, is totally useless in being able to suck up dog hair from wooden floorboards. The powerful head, actually blows the dog hair around the room and leaves me totally frustrated at how I am going to get the floors clean. I have reverted to using a broom and dust pan. If you have developed a top notch product, why not just stick with it?

Love this vacuum cleaner
The suction is unbelievable. We live in an area where our doors and windows are open through most of the year. This creates a lot of dust in the house. The Dyson gets it all and the floors feel wonderful. Its not heavy and is easy to get around in tight spaces. We have a combination of wooden, tiled, lino and carpet in a 2 story building.

Cheap material with no suction
I recently bought a new allergy ball vacuum and I wish I hadn't spent all this money on something that has no suction. I need to go over the same spot numerous times to pick up a piece of fluff. The vacuum has not place to put the accessories like my old one and is made from cheap plastic.

A little too expensive for what you get
It has great suction but within the first 3 months the head broke. Dyson happily helped my through it and sent me a replacement, but was very inconvenient as I had no vacuum for a few weeks.
For the price that it sells for, one would think that the hard floor attachment would be includuded, but it is not!

After 12 months it has Helped allergies by picking up dust and pet hair
After research saw this has the best buy as I could get other pet accessories. i suffered last year badly from allergies as we have cats. The suction is great, its helped reduce dust and must be sucking up dust mites and cat hair as my allergies have been so much better now. The ball makes it easy to move around on the carpet and lino.

right choice with dyson DC37C
flexible, great suction, reduce the dust, not too noisy, efficient. Compare to others, you dnt need to put too much hard work in using this great Dyson. We have another brand of vacuum cleaner, which entirely can not compare to this Dyson brand. We just need to run it once through and save a lot of time.

Liked the previous model
Our previous DC23 was pretty awesome and had lasted us for many many years so when it blew up we automatically went out and purchased the new model in the allergy range thinking it would be the best. However, I was quite disappointed in this new model. The suction just doesn't compare to our older model and it feels like a light weight cheap version. Yes, it is so much easier to pull around the house while vacuuming but it lacks the powerful suction of our previous one. Our accessory tools still fit this new superseded model which is a bonus but if i had my choice over, I would continuing researching.

Most Expensive And Most Worst Vacuum Cleaner I Ever Owned.
When our last vacuum cleaner died, we decided to give the Dyson Big Ball Allergy a go. Saved up for it and bought it at the beginning of 2017, before reading any reviews on it. I am sorry...Dyson know how to market and advertise their product really well but it has left me disappointed. I have used it only a hand full of times because I hate using it so much. It loses suction very quickly, just takes really fine dust to build up after only vacuuming one small room and suction is gone. The power head stops spinning as soon as two strands of long...Read more
hair are around it. The small dust brush is hopeless as the design is splayed and the bristles are long so when you place it onto a surface it flattens out and just does not suck up any dust...it just brushes the dust off where it lands on another surface instead of being sucked up into the vacuum. Really hate this vacuum and to be honest I want my money back and you can have your vacuum back, as the cheap vacuum cleaners do a better job. Not worth the money we paid for...sorry Dyson but I have to be truthful. Do not recommend this Dyson to anyone!1 comment

Disappointed in Dyson
I have a 3 bedroom townhouse with no carpets anywhere and I have pets hence the need for a good vacuum.
I would like to offer the following feedback on specifics of the above vacuum cleaner.
The carbon fibre turbine tool is extremely good at throwing dirt and fibres around my floor rather than sucking it up. I have gone over the same area of the floor numerous times to no avail it does NOT pick up dirt, in fact, pushes it away. I no longer use this piece instead I use the small head with the bristled edge (I think it is meant for curta...Read more
ins) which makes vacuuming three times as long as it should. The two buttons for starting/stopping the vacuum and plug recall are ridiculously small and fragile The clip for holstering the vacuum pole is ineffective and too shallow, so the hose and pole fall over and don't stay neatly tidied away.3 comments

Useless over designed piece of rubbish
It is a complete waste of time and energy, over engineered and doesn't do the job it is designed for, fiddly, hard to empty, too many places for things to get stuck.
I'm a designer, I know when something has been designed by committee with last minute dodgy fixes that don't work

WORST VACUUM I HAVE EVER USED!
Having owned only Dyson vacumms for the last 20 years I was so excited to upgrade to their newest model. I chose the Allergy model as the salesperson believed this would work best for me as I have a mixture of carpet and hardfloor areas throughout my house. This model came with a suction head that supposedly worked for both carpet and had floor. However this was not the case!! The head is useless, in fact the whole unit is.
As soon as I got it home, I opened it up and read through the manual. I began vacuuming the first room and within 5 minu...Read more

We are very sorry to hear you did not have the experience you would have expected with your vacuum or with Customer Care. Our machines do not lose suction in the way that a traditional vacuum does as the bag fills up. However, if there is a partial blockage in the machine, the dust will not be able to be picked up as expected. From what you have described, that sounds like what may have occurred here, but the blockage was not located, or perhaps one of the components may not have been attached correctly, resulting in an air leak that reduced suction. Plush carpet types would unlikely result in lowered suction levels. If you would like to discuss this further please send us an email at [email protected] and we will be happy to investigate this for you.. Best wishes, Mira Facebook.com/dysonSimilar opinion? Issues with emptying.
Have the Dyson cinetic big ball allergy for 12 months.
Since the day I got it I've had no end of trouble emptying the barrel.
It either opens itself up as I try and first remove it from its base and it spills all its contents all over the place.
If I can lift it off successfully then yeh ha !!!!!
Sadly once I empty it into the trash bin the bloody thing won't close properly.
The clip that attaches the barrel back together is so small and a bit out of line so closing it becomes an issue.
Don't think the Dyson is all its cracked up to be.

Once loved dyson but disappointed
Was once a Dyson convert after owning a DC04 upright and it lasting 15 years, it was an awesome machine and when it came time to replace i was convinced to purchase a Bosch Relax x instead, the sales man showed me the flimsy handles and plastic wear on the Dyson and we agreed, after having the Bosch for 2 years it started to have a problem with its self cleaning sensor and i was offered a new machine to replace it through extended warranty.
Instantly i thought well my Dyson lasted more than 2 years so i should go back to the machine i once l...Read more
oved so of to Harvey Norman and straight to the Dyson stand, after some time considering different models we brought a Big Ball allergy, got machine home and used it straight away, instantly wasn't happy with it but thought give it a week to get used to it, i was assured this model would do all floor surfaces without a problem but the power brush flicks everything around on my hard floor surfaces when i looked into this further i realised i need a special hard floor tool at a cost of $79, this really was a problem with the salesmen at Harvey's but still at $699 you would think it would come with all attachments to do a simple job. It's now been 3 weeks of using the Dyson and I'm nowhere near as happy as i was with the Bosch Relax x, to remove the brush on the Dyson power head you need to find a 20c coin or something similar, the Bosch was a tool less setup and heaps easier to remove and clean, the Dyson has no where near the suction power compared to the Bosch and the ergonomics of the Dyson feel awkward compared to Bosch. The positives to the Dyson are the cord retractor needs a button to be pushed as opposed to Bosch required the cord to be pulled and would wind its self back which was a pain at times. The botton to extend the wand/ main tube on the Dyson seems to be a bit sticky to extend wand in and out and the attachments are awkward to attach compared to the Bosch which would self align and attach easier.Similar opinion? Worst vacuum ever owned
I would give 0/5 stars if possible.
The Dyson Cinetic Bigball Allergy is the worst and most expensive vacuum I have owned.
Our house has black carpet and dark wood floors and this vacuum was recommended for use on both.
On the hard flooring, the turbine brush spits out pieces of dirt, tiny dried pieces of carrot, and whatever else in all directions. Even after vacuuming thoroughly for three times longer than with my older vacuum, there is still dust and dirt left behind on the hard wood flooring.
On the black carpet, the turbine bru...Read more
sh struggles to pick up white pieces of fluff and leaves 95% of them behind even after passing over them slowly 4-5 times. The Dyson Bigball has turned the chore of vacuuming into a nightmare as it more than doubles the time it takes to vacuum the house and now involves a lot more bending down to pull off fluff from the carpet and pick up dirt.Similar opinion? Very disappointed
This would have to be the most expensive and worst vacuum cleaner I have ever purchased. Cant even pick up a blade of grass off a tiled floor. Takes me 3 times as long to clean and then my mop still finds dirt. Moving from tile to carpet is horrendous as the vacuum head drops fluff and dirt on the carpet and then wont pick it up. I'm going back to my 15 year old Miele which still does a better job.
