Not the wonderful Old Dyson
Have been a Dyson owner for many happy years. When my old Dyson had a bath in our laundry, time for a new one. Trusted Dyson big ball animal pro without a question to replace it. How wrong was I. Suction is terrible and does half the job of the old one. I’m looking for a new vac, anything would be better. So disappointed. Not worth the expensive price tag. Won’t recommend or buy ever again :-(

Best Vacuum I have ever had! Love it.
I’ve had 3 other Dysons so far this is my 4th. I also have a Dyson stick vacuum. Have had for about 4 months now.
Pros: lots of attachments, great suction, doesn't fall over, has good reach with cable and length of the stick. I love the swivel hard floor head and the mini tangle-free turbine head.

Great product but still room to improve
Great size for our small 2-bed apartment and performs great on medium pile carpets (with ample cord length to avoid downtime). Easy to manoeuvre and always tips itself upright if it flips.
A few negatives - can be quite loud compared to bag vacuums; does require emptying for every 2 whole apartment vacuums; canister emptying mechanism is hit and miss, with the bin sometimes not closing tight

Dyson This Is What I’ve Been Waiting 4
This is what I’ve been waiting for. This is the best vacuum cleaner I’ve used since the DC23. Okay so I have had a Dyson dc 29 and I’ve also tried different models like Miele ect. And then a DC54 I had until that was falling over I decided to upgrade best thing I’ve ever done. This is extremely powerful and comes with hard floor tool for my polished Floors.. it also comes with other attachments for hard to reach places thankyou Dyson for this fabulous machine can’t falut it :)

Wonderful!
Days of the old vacuums are gone! Whilst a little hefty in price, this product provides value for money. Rather than spending hours chasing dust around the room, this beast is able to bring them to it (to a certain and less dramatic extent). Just be mindful that it cannot do ash, you'll need a brush and shovel for that.

Love Dyson products
This is the second Dyson Vacuum we have purchased. After our old one died a long time out of warranty we asked about repair which they couldn’t help us with but they did offer to sell us a new one direct from Dyson at a fantastic price which is great customer service. We have a white Cocker Spaniel and some days our house looks like it’s been snowing

This is not suitable for apartment
I’m very happy with the dyson vacuum function, but it’s quite heavy and take too much space . I’m using carpet in my apartment . I think I would like something small easy to storage in the future . In terms of function, dyson function is very good as per their advertisement .

Disappointing replacement for my DC08
We bought this to replace our beloved 14 year old DC08 which the motor blew up - as it's a discontinued line Dyson no longer repair this model. We thought we'd go with Dyson again and admittedly we didn't test drive very extensively but rather went on previous experience and bought this machine. Quite frankly it's a disappointment. In order to store this machine in the same place I did my other I have to pull it apart each and every time as no thought has gone into wrapping the hose around the base unit (it's a big deal when I'm pulling out ...Read more
and packing away at least 2 times a day) - even my 4 year old noticed that there was no easy way to pack it up! The carpet head is so loud when it's on, it takes a bit to get used to - the kids HATE the sound of it as it's so loud. The little clip on the barrel you need to carefully check has clicked into place, as otherwise the lid flips off and dirt pours all over the nicely cleaned floors - given the importance of this feature it's a cheap bumpy bit of plastic. The overall feel of the machine is light weight and cheap. The suction is good however and it would appear that this is where all of the design R & D has gone. As for the attachments - for me and our family personally there's way too many - no where easily to store them and they are more of a burden than a help. I honestly don't think the average household needs or would properly utilise all the additional attachments. Would I buy another Dyson again?? - Answer - no, I would only consider their handstick model if I was looking for another one.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great Suction
We got the Animal Pro with price match at JB for same price as the Animal. The only difference is the attachments which I don't think are worth paying the extra price based on the RRP. The vacuum works well. We have dogs that leave hair through the house and through the carpets. The vacuum pulls an amazing amount of dog hair from the carpets compared to old vacuum. If you have pets the Dyson Ball is worth the extra price.

NOT HAPPY JAN
Good efficient machine but not as good a quality product as the use to be, had previous Dyson vacuum for 14yrs and it was perfection could not recommend it high enough,, this new one not as happy with it .
Great ability in cleaning but needs a better head for cleaning on CARPET as its included TURBINE head is hard to manouver on carpet .
contacted Dyson as this is top of the range and has lots of accessories but told I could PURCHASE another head for $75 dollars to make carpet cleaning lighter
I also am disappointed with the quality, buttons for on /off and cord rewind and the lid of barrel comes undone quiet easily
Use to love Dyson not so sure anymore will see how this NEW one goes...

Easily the best vacuum I have owned
Thought my floors were clean but this vacuum cleans like no other. I can safely say that this is the best vacuum I have ever owned. Bit of a bother to connect everything up when I want to use it - but that can be rectified by leaving it all connected if you have the room in a cupboard. Really sucks up dust from a carpet well. Am still amazed how much dust and lint it manages to suck up . The head for cleaning floors twists around corners and one can get the dust out from the side of furniture against the wall. I would recommend to anyone - but next vacuum will definitely be a DYSON - but a stick model

Screaming suction and loose connections.
Being an already 14 year owner of the older Dyson with the yellow top, I adore my Vaccum cleaner, would I buy another brand, no... I do though have two or three complaints about the new one I have.
#1... The extension wand connections jiggle around to the point of OMG! it feels like the plastic or whatever it's made of will snap, nothing like the ultra sturdy older wand tube, so my question is this, is this how it is supposed to be, or will it just snap 8 months down the track?
The vacuum is only a couple of weeks old so I hate to think how ...Read more

Powerful vacuum for a price
This is a very good vacuum cleaner and that is shown in the high price of this product. Having said that. This product is worth every dollar. No fiddling with bags, no clunky movements. Expertly designed, perfect performance, and can become compact enough to store away in small places. It is fairly loud but no louder than any other vacuum product of its calibre. The pro head allows for cleaning on all surfaces in our home without the need to change. Cleaning the head and container is easy and hassle free. One of the wheels areas did snap off unexpectedly. We did not rough up the machine in any way...it just fell off. Had to be sent back for repair and took within a week to return to us which is incredibly good service.

Rubbish.
Poor suction. Smells weird and cost me $900!, we Brought another one to see if it was any better. No. Not better. These vaca are trash. Cheap and nasty but with an over inflated price tag. Better of buying a cheap one for a vacuum shop every 12 months.
Don't bother.

Absolute disgrace. Product and customer service.
The machine itself didn't have much suction and hair constantly got caught in the rotating head, wrapping around it. Lighter things (e.g. bean bag balls, small fluff) just flicked straight back out of the back of the rotating head. We had the machine for 6 weeks but were overseas for 2 so used it only for one month. Then it got a short circuit, tripping the safety switch and the cord retractor stopped working. The crappy plastic clip that holds the waste in the bin I doubt would last long. Asked for a refund (purchased from the Good Guys Penrit...Read more
h) but was told we could only get an exchange. I looked up my rights on Fair Trading and it clearly states that I am entitled to a refund. Contacted the manager at Good Guys who was unpleasant and not at all apologetic, claiming that I may have caused water damage and kept steering the conversation in that direction instead of hearing me out and helping me with the procedure. Now I have to wait at least 10 business days to get a decision although probably longer as it is the xmas period. So all in all I need to buy another vacuum to see me through. I will NEVER EVER buy a Dyson or ANYTHING from The Good Guys EVER AGAIN. I could have paid an extra $150 for extra warranty, but I didn't think I needed to after spending $800, had much better vacuums from Aldi and Kmart. If I had the choice I wouldn't even give it one star.1 comment

Underwhelmed - very ordinary performance
Chose this vac because Dyson is supposed to be good and we have 2 indoor dogs and carpet upstairs. We had a Hoover pet vac but I found it hard to push. Dyson is easy to push, but doesn't suck any more dirt/hair from carpet than our Hoover which was $395 versus the Dyson which was $995. And the canister won't stay shut. VERY poor design. Cord is too short. Used this vac once - don't want to use it again. Such a lot of money for such an ordinary performance. Will never buy Dyson again.

Stay with Dyson
Performance is reasonable bagless good point, the only issue I have is the empty canister sometimes has a mind of it's own, it needs a more positive holding notch. Or designing with a bayonet release, no complex design needed. The cord could be at least two metres longer, my lounge room is rather long and needs a little more cable. Congratulations on making it easy to clean the carpet head, this one feature is way ahead of the others, I used to spend a lot of time removing new carpet from the roller head on the other vacs. Apart from any small issues it's been good. Floor boards downstairs Carpet upstairs, manoeuvres nicely.

Helps kids with allergies
Bought it recently hearing the feedback that it is good for allergies. My son is very allergic to dust. Since I have been using this vacuum on a weekly basis, he looks healthier and he is not feeling sick that much any more. The suction is great but clearing the bin is hard or maybe I have not mastered it yet. Good for my carpets and timber floors.

We’ve had our Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal Pro for about 2 years now and have just moved from a place that had wall to wall carpet, to a place that has no carpet and newly-installed hardwood floors. Three questions: 1 & 2. What are the wheels on the unit itself made from and are they ok to pull along the hardwood floor without scratching at all? 3. What are the best tools to use as not to scratch the floor? Thanks!
1 answer
Dyson Team ..Dyson
The wheels on your Dyson Cinetic Big Ball machine are made of plastic, with a softer plastic tip on the sides.
While we don't anticipate any difficulties, we would encourage ensuring the wheels are clean prior to use.
For the most delicate cleaning of hard floors, we would encourage using the Swivel Hard Floor Tool, included with your Big Ball Animal Pro.
If we can assist further, please don't hesitate to get in touch with our Dyson Experts via [email protected]. Alternatively, if you are not in Australia, please visit www.dyson.com and press "Contact Us" for the local contact information of the Dyson helpline in your area.

Our power head was accidentally taken over a smelly liquid on the floor and now the brush head smells, can we wash it?
3 answers
I’m no expert just someone who purchased one recently. Pretty sure the Dyson rep said not to submerge it in water when washing it. I hunk get said he usual damp cloth wipe over. You probably should actually call Dyson and ask them in case there’s electrical stuff in the head that’ll get damaged if wet. Such a pain that this has happened to you. I hope you manage to get it sorted out ok! Goodluck!
Dyson Team ..Dyson
Hi Amanda,
The Turbine head for your machine does not have any electrics as it is driven by the air of the machine, that being said we do not recommend completely submerging the head in water as if not completely dry when used again it will damage the machine.
Try using a damp cloth and if the smell remains please call our helpline on 1800 239 766 with your machine handy.
Our helpline is open Mon-Fri 8am-8pm and on the weekend 8.30am-4pm.
Best wishes,
Sam
