Crap
I've had nothing but trouble with my kinetic barrel vac. I've replaced the cylinder but when emptying it still spews dust all over the place. Now it's spewing dust into the air when I'm vacuuming. I've checked out the videos to change or clean filters but my model, although fairly new, is not the same. Also I don't like the fact that you have to bend down to unblock brushes, which for people with arthritis is not easy. You pinch your hand when clicking in brushes if you're not careful. I personally think this system is a money making vent...Read more
ure as it's not universal & you have to use only Dyson products. Just my opinion September 5th 2018 Update: Crap I'm amazed that Dyson are sending me e-mails telling me I've helped 2046 people - does this mean all of these people think that Dyson products are CRAP??? I have now sent my vacuum back to Dyson and am awaiting their response - they suggested I return it to the retailer for a refund which they have refused as they say that Dyson don't want to accept that their products have any issues. Watch this space to see whether they actually do something about it.3 comments

Needs more suction power but otherwise okay!
I had high expectations when I bought this so maybe that's why it let me down in some aspects.
Positive: appearance and external design. Love that there is a handle to carry it easily when putting it away. It even has a part when the long part can hook onto the main body of the vac. Easy to change length of vac.
Great bagless design.
Automatic switch in between suction nozzle as well as howit auto calibrates itself from tiles/floorboatds to carpet. You can change the suction power during use as it has that handle thing at the top.
Okay suction power.
Easy to pull along with you around the house.
Lightweight for what it looks like.
Still doing chugging along!

Very good vacuum - highly recommended
We owned a 13 year old Dyson which we were unable to get anymore parts for - nothing a bit of gaffer tape couldn’t fix, but not ideal. I phoned Dyson for advice and this was the version recommended. They offered a 25% discount and free delivery which was a bonus.
We’re pretty happy with the new vacuum. As with most modern products, it’s not made with the same solidity, however it doesn’t lack in power and ease of use. We have a mix of hardwood floors and carpet. The supplied hard floor tool was a bit flimsy, so I called Dyson. They kindly se...Read more

Best vacuum we’ve had so far
The suction power is great. It’s easy to manoeuvre around furniture and has great reach for under furniture like our beds and cupboards.
The combination of attachments is great as it allows us to use it on our vinyl and carpeted floors as well as the rugs. And the smaller attachments make it great for the car and furniture. Love this vacuum.

Top of the class Vacuum cleaner
This is my third Dyson Vacuum cleaner. It comes with many tools to do the excellent vacuum cleaning job. I bought it from Costco with very reasonable price.
I'm happy with the performance and the vacuum suction is very powerful which is quickly to clean for the large area. It's easy to empty the dust bin and no bag required!
It is not too heavy but very easy to move.

Would exchange it if I could
I had a dc29 which I loved but the wiring needed some work so I decided to upgrade instead of fix it, decided to go with a dc big ball animal canister this time so I can clean better under the beds, if I could take this vacuum back I would in a heart beat, the carpet attachment is terrible the brisels are so soft it doesn't even fluff the carpet in the least bit it just rubs over top

Big ball animal
Worst vacuum I’ve ever owned! Waste of money broke 3months after having! Sent it back and they told me they “fixed” it. They replaced it with a different barrel part and just peeled my sticker of and put on someone else’s old barrel!! Didn’t even tell me. I hate this vacuum so much . Doesn’t even work well and just falls apart. Do yourself a favor and don’t get one waste of $1000 wish I just upgraded to Hoover at least they have good customer service and would never replace a brand new vacuum with someone’s old vacuum.

Works brilliantly except for one issue
Works well with lots of suction. The only downside is that every time I go to unclip the barrel to empty it as soon as you push the button on the side to lift the barrel of the bottom u clips then dumps all the contents back on the floor. The latch clip seems weak and not able to hold it shut properly.

I should have tried it before I bought it!
I was almost excited when my much loved Dyson gave up the ghost after 10 years of wonderful service. Given that Dyson is 'reassuringly expensive' and going on previous experience, I didn't think twice about rushing out and buying a Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal vacuum. First impressions were, it was hard to handle - can't transport it to another room without putting the hose in one hand and the handle in the other. I live in a 4 story house, stairs suddenly became a bit of a hazard as I couldn't hold the vacuum and the hand rail at the same t...Read more
ime - unlike previous model. When I turned it on I was deafened by the loud motor. I thought this must be down to it being more powerful - wrong. I tried every attachment and stared in wonder as each of them pushed balls of dog hair around the carpet and would fling pieces of grit and dog kibble around the room instead of picking them up. The attachment for hard floors seemed to work on the floor boards as long as you got the angle just right but the loudness is very off putting. I have 4 white dogs and was disappointed that after spending a considerable period of time going over and over the carpet, I could still see a fine film of hair on the surface. I have put it away and now use my Dyson hand held.2 comments

Must for a carpeted House
I am very happy with the purchase I made, even though the product is on expensive side. Great suction, and easy to use. Even though the vaccum is heavy but when turned on it can be manuvered effortlessly. I mainly use it for the carpeted floor and it does great job picking up dirt and fur. My carpet use to get dirtly in the living area as my kids use it as their play area. Now I vaccum one a week and carpet remains as good as new. Attach it with hardfloor attachment and it is good for kitchen and bathroom areas. I use Dyson in conjunction with robot vacuum and a handheld.

Love my Dyson
I absolutely love my Dyson!! Vacuum your floor with another type of vacuum then go over it with Dyson. See how more gets sucked up. I have cats so lots of fur on everything. It just cleans the cat hair off my carpet and lounge with such ease wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Great but not perfect
Great on carpets but struggles a bit on our tiles. No good at vacuuming our rug, it’s too strong and there is no way to turn down the suction. Feels a bit flimsy for the price, the whole unit is plastic but has held up so far.
Happy with the suction and easy to move around the house with a long cord so doesn’t need to be unplugged for every room. Love that there is no bags to buy and replace but emptying the canister can be a bit messy.

Excellent vacuum cleaner
Very happy with my Dyson Cinetic Big Ball. I don't know why I didn't get one sooner. For years I struggled with a cheaper vacuum that would constantly clog up with dust and would spend hours pulling it apart to clean it. The Dyson is worth the money, quality made and does the job I need it to do. I love how all the parts just click in together. So easy to clean and empty also. I keep mine stored in the original box and put it together each time.

Couldn't be happier.
We own two dogs so the Animal model we purchased is excellent in collecting hair, dirt etc from carpets. The suction is a lot stronger than the previous Dyson we had for over 10 years. The rotating brush bar doesn't work all that well on delicate hard floors, as seems to spin any small dirt viz bird seed around the floor, even using the suction release trigger. We got a Dyson Hard Floor tool for this purpose which is great. I suffer from arthritis in my hands and must admit the unit can be quite cumbersome and at times awkward. It is a lit...Read more
tle heavier than our previous Dyson. Tried the V8 stick unit to compare but found its weight being mainly in the handle, was also heavier than I thought. Would suggest to anyone that they "trial" each to make sure you are comfortable with them. Overall however, its a very good product.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Power extreme
I wish I had bought a decent vac before now instead of wasting time and money on cheaper ones. the small animal powerhead and the hard floor tool are the attachments i've used most with floorboards, a few rugs and several cats in my house. i've bought a dusting attachment too now and i'm actually looking forward to hitting the whole house over the weekend for the first time in forever. the amount of cat hair i got out of the loungeroom rug (after vaccing it with my old one earlier in the week) the first time i ran the thing really put into perspective how worthwhile this appliance will be for our household.

Dyson continues to amaze me..
Bought the Cinetic Big Ball as my old Dyson DC22 finally packed in (after 7 years of great service).
Was a bit sceptical initially but so far I've been nothing but surprised at the suction power and love the new motorheads which do not get entangled with all the little pieces of string or threads.
Love the fact that the ball keeps righting itself up no matter which way you drag it across the floor. Cleaning is a breeze and effortless.

Last Dyson I purchased was 11 years ago they are amazing only damage was I caused and easily got a replacement . Not cheap to replace but after 6 years of using I didn’t think think a problem . Great attachments always innovative but costly compared to many other models .

My Dyson big ball animal has suddenly started spinning in the wrong direction so it’s just pushing animal hair all over the carpet. How do I get going in the right direction?

Hi there,
Thank you for your query. I am sorry to hear about this, however we are happy to help.
If the turbine head is blowing dust around, there is most likely a blockage within the turbine head itself.
We recommend to remove the brushbar using a ten or twenty cent coin to twist the cap at the end of the cleanerhead that retains the brushbar counterclockwise (as shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpXtMpytFJc). Once done, you will be able to remove both the cap and the brushbar. Please then check the cavity where the brushbar was in the cleanerhead and clear out any debris. You should be able to look through the neck of the head and see straight through. Please then reassemble and retry the turbine.
In the unlikely event you are still experiencing difficulty, please email [email protected] and our Dyson Experts will be happy to further assist.
Best wishes,
Shan
