Love it

I replaced a Dyson c7 with this model, at the time I was a bit concerned about comparable performance, I really shouldn't have been. So so much easier to use,, lighter, easier to store, all in all I should've changed years ago!!! I have a dog and this machine is every bit as good as its bigger brother :)

Terrible After Care Service for Darwin NT

published

I have always loved Dyson Vacuum Cleaners. They are great quality and you get what you pay for. The problem I have is living in Darwin NT. My vacuum has had a problem with the wheel cover, nothing too alarming. Unfortunately I have been told by Adrian from Dyson Customer Service that I have to send the vacuum from Darwin to either Adelaide or Sydney to get the vacuum fixed. Darwin used to have a vacuum company called Mr. Vac a few years ago who would fix all vacuums but has since closed down. I am not happy that I have to send the vacuum away, could understand it if I live in a small town. This problem of after care service in Darwin definitely effects my decision as to whether I would buy another Dyson again.

NOT outstanding and over-priced

published

Good suction and not noisy. Initially I dispensed with the turbo head on carpets as the machine ran very hot and smelled. Its possibly why there is only a two year guarantee. Components, switches etc are lighter and flimsier than my old DC 23, which died after 7 years 8 months of gradually losing suction. The machine itself is much heavier to lug upstairs. Unfortunately sales staff only had scant knowledge of the machine and really pushed for an extended warranty

Not 2 bad.

Beautiful strong suction. Bit wobbly to pull around. We have 2 in our home, one of the wheels of one has already broken off only a week old.. but will obviously refund it, and give the benefit of the doubt due to owning a number of dysons in the past and never having an issue. But other than this, been awesome so.far.

Got a new Dyson, now missing my shark so much

published

I used to have a shark navigator but now I have a Dyson and It doesn't come close. I really dread vacuuming now.
The Dyson is continually getting blocked. The rollers are always in a tangle. Suction seems to come and go. After vacuuming the carpets don't even look clean. It cost so much money and I really regret it. I took it back to the store to see if it was faulty within the first month of purchase and was assured nothing was wrong with it.

Good but not great

published

Everyone raves about Dyson vacuums so i bought one. It sucks up most things without getting anything deeper down in the carpet. Great on lino floors and comes with good attachments to clean around skirting boards and window sills. One side on the big ball came off within a month of use, no big deal, fixed it myself. There are better vacuums out there.

Powerful suction

published

This cleaner has the strongest suction of any cleaner we have owned. We replaced our old Dyson after more than 15 years after a major part broke. We always thought it was powerful. . This one is quite heavy to carry and use but is extremely powerful. The barrel emptying and replacing took a while to master but we won. It is amazing at how much pet hair it picks up (our furry dog and cat are continually unravelling).

Your older Dyson probably does the job better

published

We wanted this model to replace our 9 year old DC22 Motorhead because we were tired of using a chopstick to wrangle the dust out of it. Unfortunately, the Cinetic only gets about two thirds as much dust out of the carpet and the dust jams up the back of the canister where you can't see it, rather than filling properly - so the extra bin capacity can not really be utilised. The bin emptying mechanism is a BIG step forward and the suction is reasonably good, but if you are used to an older motorhead the performance is clearly inferior. I returned it after 1 use. A triumph of marketing over engineering.

A bit pricey but vacuums perfect

published

For those who wonder this works on the carpet the answer is yes it collects dust, particles and particularly my wife's blonde hair which is hard to see on a yellow carpet very nice. She loves to vacuum twice a week. Actually we found out that how the previous machine was bad that now she is collecting so much hair each time from our carpet.

Amazing

As usual for a Dyson product, great build qualitym quiet considering the power and of course will last for the years to come. I think it's great to pay a bit more money and get a good quality product that will last, instead of spending a tiny bit every time and spending more.

It's ok

published

Not terrible, not great. Was expecting a little bit more suction. Average weight, moves around fine, a little troublesome when trying to turn it while vacuuming.

Would be nice if each attachment came with some instructions as to how it's meant to be used, or at least the name of the attachment so I could find out how it attaches online.

Bought it on sale for around 600, even at that price it's bordering on a little too pricey for what it is.

My wheel hasn't fallen off yet after 1 month. Fingers crossed it doesn't happen.

The best Vacuum cleaner

published

Easily one of the best Vacuum cleaners money can buy. What used to cost $899 now costs $699 and getting it on Ebay on a 15% discount further makes it a great value. All brushes work well and the build quality and design of all tools are too good. Suction is more than adequate while some say other brands have greater suction. This si more than enough. Even with his suction, the carpet brush moves smoothly over carpets. The dust container is pretty large and can hold a lot of dust. Emptying the container is easy too. Sometimes the thing does not lock back well. Storage of the item is simple too. The attachments can be stored in a cover and the vacuum can be stored
Overall if you can afford it, you should buy it.

Cinetic Big Ball Animal

My Dyson big ball animal has suddenly started spinning in the wrong direction so it’s just pushing animal hair all over the carpet. How do I get going in the right direction?

Hi there,

Thank you for your query. I am sorry to hear about this, however we are happy to help.

If the turbine head is blowing dust around, there is most likely a blockage within the turbine head itself.

We recommend to remove the brushbar using a ten or twenty cent coin to twist the cap at the end of the cleanerhead that retains the brushbar counterclockwise (as shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpXtMpytFJc). Once done, you will be able to remove both the cap and the brushbar. Please then check the cavity where the brushbar was in the cleanerhead and clear out any debris. You should be able to look through the neck of the head and see straight through. Please then reassemble and retry the turbine.

In the unlikely event you are still experiencing difficulty, please email [email protected] and our Dyson Experts will be happy to further assist.

Best wishes,

Shan
