Disappointing for $1000 vacuum cleaner
We have tiled and lino floors. This thing just flicks the dirt around unless you have it on the highest power setting in which case the battery only lasts 5 minutes. The rotating brush in the head flicks the dirt away. It will only suck dirt when when pushing forwards, when pulling back the rubber strip at the rear of the head pushes dirt out of the way not allowing it to be sucked up. It comes with lots of different head attachments but the vacuum is useless for cleaning your car for example due to the shape and size of it. The battery doesn't...Read more
last as long as the state. My wife cannot do the whole house on the medium power setting. Wouldn't even bother with the low setting. This unit is ok for spot cleans but who wants to pay over $1000 for a spot cleaner? If they made a decent hard floor head that doesn't flick dirt away and a larger battery then this thing would be so much better. Very disappointing coming from Dyson.Purchased in September 2021 at Flybuys rewards for $1,200.00.

Great Machine
We use this machine for tiled and wooden floor, It is a great machine. It picks up tiny dust particles. I am writing this review after using this machine for six months. It's very easy to manoeuvre, kids use this more than we do. Now there are four machines in our friend circle, all are happy. We bought it from JB HiFi.
Purchased in April 2021 at JB Hi-Fi for $699.00.

Excellent vaccum cleaner, couldn't be happier with my purchase
Have had this vacuum cleaner for over a year now, and I must say I am extremely happy with my purchase. Two story house, top floor is carpet and bottom is tiled. Works great across boths surfaces. Super easy to empty the dust bin and a relatively quick charge. Everything you'd expect for paying the preimum of Dyson. Worth every penny imo.

Excellent across the board!
I have owned/used several vacuums over the years from handheld to stick, upright, canister, backpack and central vacuum system and the Dyson V10 Cyclone stands head and shoulder above them.
The V10 has the suction found in many high-ed canister and backpack model vacuums in a light and easy to use design. The 3 power settings gives you excellent control and suction regardless of the surface and the brush power head catches everything without clogging or getting stuck (like on hair) unlike similar designs.
Previous vacuums I have owned, would no...Read more

had to change a couple of things
We have well over 150 sq metres of tiles and hardwood that needs to be done every day. (three dogs) I sourced an aftermarket adapter that allows me to connect a hard floor barrel Dyson DC39 head to the V10. This is a plain head and it is a dream to use without having to turn the wrists with every corner and change of direction. I found the roller type heads to be effective but a nuisance with arthritic wrists. Usually we have to empty the bin twice per vac so it does the job. We still use our barrel for the major weekly clean. This is saving a lot of paint on the wall corners from being wrecked by the hose on the bigger unit . We only have a rug in one room for the carpet head, so its not an issue.
Purchased in November 2021 at on line purchase for $799.00.

Expected a whole lot more
When we moved into our new home without carpet and needed a new vacuum we decided on the newly released Dyson V10 after doing some research. This is not your everyday vacuum, rather a handy tool for picking up toast crumbs after breakfast. It does that job just fine but for the thousand dollars it cost, a $20 cordless does the same job. Now after a year of ownership it is pretty much redundant as it wont do the handy jobs we brought it for like cleaning the car. It lasts less than 5 minutes on full charge on the max power setting which if the only setting that really picks up anything worthwhile. Now I feel like a real chump every time I look at he elephant in the room, thanks for nothing Mr Dyson - Don't believe the hype people.

Wish I bought this sooner!
I had high expectations when I bought this device and it not only didn't disappoint but it has continued to impress me. The amount of dirt and dust that it picks up is astonishing. I wish had picked this up sooner! The battery life is fantastic. The number of attachments that comes with it is great. The ease of use and convenience of it is top notch. It's so easy to switch between a stick vac and hand vac. Worked great for the car as well.
If I had to fault it, I would say that the standard head that comes with it isn't amazing on hard floors...Read more
however I already knew that as the Absolute model comes with the roller head that is better for hard floors. Still not a huge deal, it just means I have to pick it up and roll it over larger debris, not the end of the world particularly when I already have the convenience of not having to plug and unplug from each room. The RRP is a bit steep but I managed to pick it up for $650 and at that price, this device gets a perfect 5 stars from me.Purchased in November 2021 at Dyson for $650.00.

Another awesome product from dyson
Been using this since early July at a school I work at, and it's come in very handy.
Battery life is great, the stuff it picks up is way ahead of the old v7 & v8s we have.
The only negatives are the head wears out too quickly (we are already looking at replacing it after 4 months) and if you use it regularly it rubs on your pinky and pointer finger causing calluses.
Other than those minor issues, I'd definitely recommend it.

Disappointed
I have had Dyson corded vacuums and loved them especially the DC 65.
When the V10 Animal came out my DC 65 was not performing at its best as is was old. I have always rated Dyson 10/10 the V10 is lucky to get 2/10, when emptying it I find it won't open then suddenly it falls off usually in the bin. The filter cuts in and out even though I wash it every week, I now have bought a new DC65 but it will be my last Dyson. Trying to get through to customer service is like calling centrelink so I emailed 3 times then got a response saying my machine...Read more

Cost vs Longevity
This is a one year review, to hopefully help those make an informed decision about the longevity of this item.
I purchased this one year ago and within that time I have discovered many issues - the main being how quickly the turbine heads wear out and how you truly do need a back up vacuum.
We have all seen the ads, claiming to be as good as a corded vacuum - they come close if you can do your house in less than 6 minutes. If you cant, then expect to charge and re-charge multiple times a day just to do a full home thoroughly. Perfect for a ...Read more
quick clean up of light dust, but most certainly not for keeping a house clean especially when you have asthmatics in the house, you just do not get enough run time. The turbine head has worn out twice - the head has small plastic nubs in the end of the head that connect to small gears which turn the head. These plastic nubs wear down incredibly fast due to the heat the head produces from spinning - so hot it becomes untouchable. These heads are not cheap to replace, but one was covered under warranty. The second failed one week shy of the warranty. The canister on the V10 is very different to previous versions - and thats not a good thing. Anything like a rampant fruit loop or hidden LEGO under the couch become trapped inside the canister and you cannot remove them easily like the older version of the Dyson. It takes pliers, a lot of patience, a jug of coffee and an hour just to get it unblocked. The older versions did not have this problem. It also has moments of deciding not to run - you hold the trigger, the battery shows charge, but no go.Purchased in September 2021 at The Good Guys.

Does what it says. Easy to use! Love it.
After having spinal fusion I could no longer use my barrel vacuum. I purchased the Dyson V10 and am able to vacuum the floors without exacerbating my lower back pain caused by the usual twisting motion when using my barrel vacuum. the suctions is great and it recharges so quickly.

Battery only lasted 4 weeks
Bought a brand new vac and within a couple of weeks it started to stop working. Eventually after 5 weeks it was dead. Brand new and the battery dead. Dyson stated that the battery was ......wait for it.....a consumable product and not covered by warranty! Eventually posted a new one but in the mean time, I had no vac - not bad for spending $800 and having no product to show for it. Wouldn't even try to rush the battery through.

I love this stick vacuum, no cords or fuss
I have carpets and bamboo flooring and have had the vacuum for 2 months now. I love not having to fuss with plugging it in or getting extension cords, and can clean my entire 5+study home without recharging. I use the low level on the hard floors and medium on the carpets. The smaller head is great in the car. It picks up plenty of dirt and dust and is really easy to manoeuvre. The only negative is it can't pick up bigger objects on the hard floors because the head is a roller. So any dead flies or large crumbs e.g. hard playdoh get flicked acr...Read more
oss the floor. Customer service suggested vacuuming them with the edge attachment which really isn't practical. I wish you could turn the roller off briefly when needed. I still wouldn't swap this vacuum though.Purchased in August 2021 at Dyson for $899.00.

A complete waste of money
I purchased a Dyson V10 Absolute in December 2018 - I have never written a review before but each time I use the machine I get angry and today decided to vent my anger. The battery barley lasts 20 minutes on middle and low and if you use on high you are lucky to get 5 minutes - I have cats and need to use on high in some rooms to pick up hair so I am constantly having to recharge the unit so a normal house clean takes ages. If not recharging the battery I am cleaning the filter which happens approximately every 3rd use.
To be fair the unit does a good job and is easy to use however if I was aware of the limitations of the machine I would not have spent over $900

On wood floors and struggling to suck! Power head gets stuck all the time Complete waist of money. Straw broom works better. Truly a pathetic item! Batterys cant keep up and cost a small fortune. Great... when they work
Where to begin... this is my third Dyson in 4 years (I ask myself why). Motor failed on the first, battery and head in the second and both a few months outside their 2 year warranty. Soooo oddly I decided the buy a new v10, which requires a new battery straight out the package. Not one use, not even a 10 second demo - nothing but red flashing lights. Ring Dyson who advise the battery is dud and needs replacement, so here I am with an $800 Dyson vac, never used, waiting on a battery I have to replace!
They work well, when they work. But I seri...Read more
ously question why I decided on another. The customer service staff are nice enough but have their hands tied with what they can offer (would prefer they avoid analogies of consumable batteries such as cars batteries as I would expect them to also work from new).Purchased in October 2021 for $800.00.

If debris is falling out of the machine, often this indicates a blockage within the airways.
