It's function rivals its beauty
I was fortunate enough to be gifted this beauty to trial and it lived up to ALL expectations.
My partner is a shift worker who for the first time in his life has started to experience hay fever, enter the Dyson Pure Cool Me no more blocked nose when sleeping, it has made a huge difference to the quality of air in our bedroom for sure, we have both been having far better night’s sleep since the introduction of this wonder.

l you need. The low settings are quiet. Of course, the higher settings produce more sound but not a bad sound. Great feature for night-time is that the LED display disappears, so there's no bothersome light. Another good feature is that the fan monitors the use of the filter, so you'll know when to replace it. It has the total wow factor of form and function! Initially slightly larger than I expected when I took it out of the box but I I can see that it’s the perfect size to move the amount of air it does. Dyson has always delivered unconventional design. That’s part of the beauty and wonder of Dyson. But the function rivals the beauty! It moves air like no other fan! Sleek and modern looking and simple but ingenious control of amount and direction of airflow. Small remote is magnetised to stick on unit so you don’t lose it! Love that! Almost silent at level 1 and very quiet at level 2 while still delivering amazing air flow! The optional oscillating feature delivers head to toe pure air while you’re lying in bed. Absolutely luxe!Purchased in November 2021.

Directional control - airflow control by moving the dome Up or Down. Sleep timer 30 min - 8 hrs. Remote control included, which magnetically attaches to the Pure Cool Me. LED display: A small LED display located on the bottom front area of the Pure Cool Me. The Review: For quite some time I have been considering purchasing myself an air purifier, due to severe allergies all year around, so I was excited to have the opportunity to trial the Dyson Pure Cool Me and provide my unbiased review. Delivery: The Dyson Pure Cool Me product arrived via courier in the original Dyson product packaging box, shrink wrapped in a clear plastic with the shipping sticker attached. I was surprised that the appliance wasnt delivered with the additional protection of a cardboard shipping box, which is the first time I have ever received a delivery via courier of any product arriving in just the products packaging. Nonetheless it was delivered without any visible damage to the outside. PDF: I was sent a PDF file via email with the Pure Cool Me product description to read about functions & key features of the product: Some of the information was incorrect and I was surprised that this had been overlooked by Dyson. The PDF states in product description: Dyson Pure Cool MeTM personal purifying fan heater is a purifier and cooling fan designed for focused, personal airflow, precisely where you need it. I double checked the Dyson website and there was no description mentioned for the product being a fan heater and cooling. So this was simply a typo. Pure Cool Me set up: Easy to set up right out the box. Simply plug in and use the remote control to navigate through the functions. The yellow card with the QR code to scan thats supplied inside of the product box did not work after repeated attempts. So I gave up trying to get that to work. Overall impressions: The remote control is very frustrating to use! Fiddly, small and not at all user friendly, especially in the dark when youre half asleep and wanting to change the fan speed or start/stop the oscillating feature. Be prepared to fumble, drop and become extremely annoyed when using the remote control in the dark. The control buttons are barely raised to feel which buttons youre selecting. The LED screen is quite small and if you wear glasses then you will need those beside the bed to see what youre doing. Visually Impaired Consumers: Not at all designed as a user friendly product for visually impaired/blind consumers who will not be able to see the LED screen to figure out what settings are being pressed on the remote. The remote control needs much improvement in design and functionality. I feel that Dyson put more focus on a minimalist design instead of creating a remote control that was practical and easy to use. The remote control needs to be re-designed. Magnetic Attachment: Removing and attaching the remote from the Pure Cool Me is also problematic in the dark. Cooling effects: As good as any desk/pedestal fan. Not better in any way compared to a much cheaper regular fan. The air stream is very pleasant as it blows over you on low to medium fan speed settings. Think of it as being similar to a nice gentle breeze. Fan speed settings above 7 do not really feel any nicer or different to a regular fan, in my opinion. During Very Hot Summer Temperature: Myself, would not recommended as the only choice for relief of heat during very hot summer temperatures. At home, I have a powerful Mitsubishi Electric R/C air conditioning unit in the living room and had that running on full speed throughout a few nights during a recent heatwave to try and get cooler temperatures to my bedroom as well as using the Pure Cool Me and was still waking up constantly hot and sweaty with the Pure Cool Me blowing directly on me without oscillation. In my opinion, this product will be fine during the milder summer temperatures but dont get your hopes up for this to be the only solution for keeping you cool in hot temperatures. If you do not have air conditioning at home to use as well as the Pure Cool Me, I suggest looking for an alternative product that is around a similar price tag to provide real effective relief during the very hot summer temperatures. My honest suggestion would be to consider spending your money on a portable air conditioner or portable evaporated air cooler to have in the bedroom and not just rely on the the Pure Cool Me for keeping yourself cool on those hot summer nights/temperatures. So please keep that in mind. Air Purifier & Odour Control: I have noticed a very slight improvement with my allergy symptoms since using the Pure Cool Me, but definitely not enough improvement to recommend this product for the air quality benefits alone. With recent bushfires in the Adelaide Hills and a couple of fires in suburbs approximately 25 minutes away from my house, I noticed some smoke smell entering the house which caused eye irritation and coughing. I kept the exhaust fans running in the kitchen and bathroom the entire time to try and minimise the smoke in the house which helped quite a lot, as well as running the Pure Cool Me in the bedroom when I was in bed, but I noticed that the Pure Cool Me was just blowing a smoke smell directly in my face, so I changed the direction of air flow upwards and left it that way until I woke up in the morning. I woke with a runny nose and itching eyes. Since the Pure Cool Me is not designed by Dyson with purifying a room in mind, such as a small bedroom, I do not feel that purchasing this product is worthwhile for the air purifier benefits. Given the Pure Cool Me price point, I honestly would prefer to spend my money on an air purifier that has been highly recommended, an industry leader, and is specifically designed to at least purify the entire room. I feel that there are much better options available on the market for around the same price. In saying that, I do not consider the Pure Cool Me a must have for an air purifier, especially if you suffer from severe allergies as I do, and I suffer with allergies all year around. No Air Quality Monitoring: This product also does not have anything to show the quality of air purifying being carried out to give an indication of whether it is doing a good job or not. Instead we rely simply on what Dyson says it can do as far as air purification. Given the fact that the other Dyson air purifier fan models provide up to date information on the quality of air, I am left wondering why this particular model didnt have that feature included. For me this is greatly disappointing. Considering it is promoted as an air purifier & fan, I would have thought that it would make sense to also include an air quality monitoring feature with the Pure Cool Me. The Verdict: Not particularly user friendly. Limited capabilities and offering little benefit to the consumer, at this recommended retail price point. The replacement filters are also an expensive additional requirement to take into consideration which are not like the r/c HEPA filters in my air conditioner that can be regularly cleaned to maintain the quality of air. I would love to see Dyson offering a stand alone air purifier system that is both powerful, efficient and competitive in price with other air purifier products on the market. I would definitely consider purchasing one if Dyson decides to design and manufacture such a product!Purchased in November 2021.

Very cool - Pun intended and video included
The Dyson Pure Cool Me is exactly as the name states - It purifies and cools the air around You.
The combination of the large copper dome and the boastfully vented gunmetal grey barrel gives the Pure Cool Me an elegantly stylish look, with a masculine touch, appealing to all walks of life. Simply put, it is a bloody good looking device.

ck vacuums. The main unit itself has no button controls so all setting are conducted via the remote control; this retains its uncomplicated and sleek design with the only functionality being the slidable copper dome, to adjust airflow direction either upward or downward. According to Dyson, the airflow design uses Core Flow technology that projects a stream of air from the dome. This means you can choose between two air flow directions by shifting the copper dome up or down.Purchased in November 2021.

A perfect air purifier for personal use
The Dyson Pure Cool Me is a nice little device aimed to be used for personal use, and not for the whole household.
Living in a townhouse, turning it on all day (before the recent heatwave) it does manage to do a good job, where it brought the temperature down in the house by 3 degrees. However, when I was trying it at my sisters place, it barely did any good, as the product is only for a personal use, nevertheless its good to know that the Dyson Pure Cool Me can do a good job in smaller houses or units.

Smart looking air purifier that functions well
This Dyson product is an air purifier with a variable fan for the purposes of air purification and cooling. Dyson has several other air purifiers and cooling fans on the market, but unlike some of the other larger models, this one is designed to work on a personal level - that is, provide air purification and cooling directly to a person. Therefore, this unit is not suited to a large room and is actually designed to be placed within a smaller area such as on a desk in an office or bedside table in the bedroom. I mainly have this unit sitting on...Read more
a bedside table in the bedroom. I am a hayfever/sinus sufferer and this unit has helped me by cleaning the air at night, giving me a better night's sleep. It comes in two colour schemes - white/silver or gunmetal/copper. I have the gunmetal/copper model. The gunmetal/copper model, at first, seems to be an unusual colour scheme for such an appliance. However, once placed on furniture, particularly wood finish furniture, it actually makes sense - making it look smart without being the focal point and drawing too much attention to it. White/silver would look good on white and light-coloured furniture. First impression is that the purifier looks very different to other fan type products on the market. It has a distinctly Dyson product look - neatly finished and styled - giving it a modern and sophisticated look. The domed top makes it look somewhat top heavy and as if it could topple over if bumped. However, the unit is surprisingly stable, and at the same time not too heavy. It can be easily picked up and moved around, so it can be placed wherever you move to, such as on a desk, side table or anywhere else you may be sitting, working or relaxing. Although the name of the product is Pure Cool Me, the cooling function is simply a fan and not refrigerated in anyway. Therefore, it is by no means an air conditioner; however, its ability to focus its air stream to one location still provides cooling relief - one would almost think that it is providing air at a lower temperature. Dyson claims that this model uses Dyson's Core Flow Technology which enables the unit to project a targeted stream of air wherever you need it. The unit has the ability to control the airflow direction. This is done by sliding the central face of the dome up or down. Sliding it down provides a more horizontal air flow, while sliding it up provides air flow that is projected upwards more. The down position is ideal when placed on a bedside table if you would like to feel the air flow on you. The up position on a bedside table has the effect of blowing air around you and not directly on you. This combined with the variable air speeds and sideways oscillation, allows you the option of creating the environment that best suits you.Purchased in December 2021.

Perfect as personal air purifier and mini-fan
The executive summary = As an asthmatic, I think this is a wonderful product. Portable, easy to use and performs its job well.
Well, we got that out of the way and here is the long review.
The Dyson Pure Cool Me unit came in a box (ref: photo 1) that is very well packaged. Opening the cover revealed the accessories in a separate box sitting at the top which included the power supply adapter, remote control, two AAA sized batteries and a manual (ref: photo 2).

t the plastics felt somewhat flimsy. I guess that this was considered by the product designers and was appropriate for the duty. Still, I thought the movable wind vane/diverter on the top (that copper coloured piece) felt really agricultural in touch and feel. In daily use, this product cannot be faulted. I have had medical grade air cleaners and this product is right up there with them. Being a personal air cleaner, this had to be placed close to your immediate vicinity so I would carry this around with me in the house, whether I am at my study or in my bedroom retiring for the night. It will take an hour or so before you can feel the noticeable change in the air quality as the rate of air change cannot be compared to a larger whole of room unit.Purchased in November 2021.

It's a breeze!
The Dyson Pure Cool Me is not a fan in the usual caged-spinning-blade-pushing-air-towards-large-area sense. Neither is it an air conditioner that lowers the ambient temperature of air in a room. So, if youre looking for an appliance that does either of these things then you would be better off looking elsewhere. The type of situation where the Cool Me excels in is either on a desktop or bedside personal space.

Cleaner, Cooler Air in a Unique Design
The Dyson Pure Cool Me is portable, space-saving and well made, which shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that has had experience with Dyson products. This air purifying fan has redesigned the traditional oscillating fan. As an Ambassador I was lucky enough to receive the modern black & copper design which aesthetically looks great and comes with a little copper coloured remote. The colour of the remote also stands out so is unlikely to be misplaced, although if you return it to its magnetic base on the front of the fan you shouldn't lose i...Read more
t anyway. In low light the remote isnt very easy to use as it doesn't have any substantial markings that stand out, so unless youve memorised what the buttons do, it can be a slight issue. On the other hand, the screen is bright and easy to read, it only gives basic info but how much more do you need, essentially it is a fan. It shows fan speed and filter life. I really like the fact that when it swivels it doesn't require much extra space for clearance. It's an excellent design feature because wherever you place it, if it fits, that's all the space that will be required. Unlike traditional fans where you need to clear the area around it, so it doesn't knock things over when it oscillates. I also love the level settings on this fan, not 'low, med & high', you have increments from 1 to 10, each level being slightly stronger than the last. It mightn't sound like a big deal but for someone who feels the cold, this is ideal. I can have a much lower setting than what I can on a regular fan. It is also easy to change the direction of the airflow due to its unique dome shape diffuser. You can also situate the dome more centrally and have airflow divided between the top and bottom. The other noticeable difference is that when using it in an office environment it doesn't blow paperwork all over the desk (unless on a high setting). It is very pleasant to use and the fact that it is blowing purified air instead of just recirculating dusty, polluted air is quite impressive. This fan is aimed at being a personal product and not designed to cool/purify an entire room, it is meant to be located relatively close to where the user is. Im happy to say that due to its portability you can move it around without any hassles and even when its not in use, it doesnt look out of place sitting on a bedside table. Functionally, it is very quiet, almost silent at lower settings. During the night we have it on level 1 because we have it sitting on the bedside table and it isn't audible at all which is great. Obviously, the higher the setting the more noise it makes, but that is to be expected. The air purifier does seem to help, especially at night and makes sleeping more comfortable. My husband often wakes during the night feeling congested and after one night of using this product he said he noticed a difference and that he was able to sleep better. Also, as soon as the light in the room darkens, the display dims so there are no distracting lights to keep you awake. It seems to be a very well thought out product. Additionally, it has a sleep timer which can be set for between 30 minutes and 8 hours. The filter is something which I had to google for more information and from what I read this is not a reusable, cleanable filter. When your fan indicates that the filter is full you need to replace it with a new one. The filters are $55 from Dyson's website. The only info regarding longevity I could find was the filter life is approximately 1 year if used 12 hours a day - that's a very decent lifespan, considering not many people will use a fan all year round.Purchased in November 2021.

Good air purifier for small spaces
Upon doing some initial research into the Dyson Pure Cool Me, it looks like an air purifier for personal use. Given the bush fires in Sydney over the past several weeks, I was interested to see how it faired in providing better air quality and also whether it would be something useful for day to day life.
Aesthetically the Pure Cool Me is minimalistic with a clean white dome top and a silver body. The unit is somewhat bulkier than a normal fan (probably because it needs to have an air purification system built into it). One thing that was str...Read more
ange was that there were no areas (that I could find) to help you carry the product. The Dyson Pure Cool Me is quite intuitive to use. You plug it in, and use the controller to turn it on. You can select to oscillate it, or to have it static. You can also adjust the flow of the air by moving the dome up and down. The actual jet of air that is pushed out comes out in one powerful burst. In terms of air purification, this is a little more difficult to judge. While there were bushfires I feel like having the jet of pure air made me feel better. On days when I was out and about, I could really feel the smoke fill my lungs, but once I arrived home the air purifier did seem to make the air around me a lot easier to breathe in. However, as this is a personal unit, its not a product for bigger homes. It seems much more useful if you stay in one room all day like an office or the kitchen. Since the Dyson Pure Cool Me is about $400, I would likely go for a whole room unit if I were to buy an air purifier unit. However, if you have a home office or work in one room for most of your time, this could be a relatively cheaper air purifier that would suit your specific needs.Purchased in December 2021.

Introduction
Well this is my second review of a Dyson product. Pretty happy being a product ambassador as I get to test out and review some cool products. As such, I try to be objective and impartial in my review so that it is fair and balanced. Having said that, I am evaluating the product in terms of how it fits into my lifestyle too.
Dyson are renowned for innovation, taking pretty much everyday products and finding ways to make them better. The old 'build a better mousetrap' thing.

Best desktop fan I've owned
Have been using the Dyson Pure cool me for a few weeks now at both home and work. As a personal cooling device it's excellent. Has speed settings 1-10 and on my desk at work speed setting 4 is highest that's required in addition to the rotate function. Also really appreciate the timer knowing piece of mind I can set and forget. Sadly above 8 the unit is a little bit noisy as a personal cooling unit given the proximity. At home it's been good having the blade free design around young children and little fingers not being at risk.

It does exactly what it says.
This unit is a personal cooling fan with a very good built in filter, which Dyson says will run 12 hours per day for a year before needing a filter change. It is not a room sized fan and it does not cool. It doesn't come with instructions but the link to the website is quick and very easy. A few minutes browsing and I easily had all the info I needed. I used this product during a four day, 43 to 46 degree heat wave in Adelaide, with fierce north winds bringing lots of pollen and dust. During the day I had it set up next to my desk and overnight...Read more
I had it in my bedroom on my bedside chest. I detest ceiling fans for the noise they make. Overnight, I ran the Dyson on level 2 and had it blowing across my face and upper body. I slept through the night with the Dyson running less than a metre from me, whereas the ceiling fan wakes me so often I never use it. I only have the ceiling fans because they came with the house. The Dyson is VERY quiet on the low setting of 2 or 3 it does have a narrow range of air output unless it is in swing mode. I don't have a lot of allergies, but once a week or so, I will have a sneezing fit, as does my husband, since using the Dyson these irregular sneezing fits are reduced. The remote control attaches magnetically to the front of the unit, but you need to take care not to lose the remote as without it there are no manual controls, and the unit is useless without the remote. If I had this unit when my children were younger, and they both had issues with asthma, I would have considered closing their bedroom and running this unit 24/7 to reduce the pollutants before they went to bed. This is not the intended use for this product, but I think that given the air filter on this device it wouldn't have hurt to purify their rooms and may have helped. From an ecological point of view I would prefer to see a washable and re-useable filter, however a re-usable filter may not be as effective as the filter supplied at filtering out micro particles. On the positive side it is a personally directed fan meant for providing filtered air in close quarters. Its primary objective is in providing a stream of filtered air, to an individual, which it does very well. If you are looking for a whole of room cooling, there are other options which may be less expensive, including other Dyson products. It does show the usual Dyson attention to detail, Dyson function and Dyson styling. It would be probably be safe in a small child's bedroom as there are no moving parts for little fingers.Purchased for $499.00.

compact air purifier
I have mixed feelings about this fan and they are mostly based around the cost of the unit. For a compact blade less air purifier, this unit is great build quality and is safe when placed in a room with kids, mind you all fans have finger guards anyway. It has a nice little remote for control but lacks any button functionality on the unit itself so if you lost the remote you may be in a bit of trouble. The way of controlling airflow is neat and on the lowest fan speed you could potentially have the unit sitting on the bedside table and get a ...Read more
nice clean air sleep. For people with allergy this would be a great option but I cant help but wonder if you are prepared to spend this sort of money on an air purifier you wouldn't just spend the extra money and get the bigger brother that heats and cools and has more airflow, more filter media and has air quality sensors built in to give you feedback on the air space. So for people that are looking for a compact purifying option and have little space to place a fan unit then I would recommend to go for it but if you have the extra money and the extra space, upgrade to the heat cool unit with all the features.Similar opinion? Not sure it's for me...
I wasn't in the market for an air purifier or fan, so was curious when offered one to review. I really knew nothing about them prior to receiving it.
Firstly it came with a yellow card with a QR code and a website. There is also a sticker with the same info attached to the cord. Unfortunately neither worked. I tried multiple times over the first day or so. The website indicating the dreaded 404 page not found. The code unreadable too. I've since tried again and both are now working. Not sure of the problem.
By using the iPhone camera,...Read more
the QR code opens the website with all the info. Really helpful once it worked. Now to the fan. Like other Dyson products, they don't look like anything else on the market. Ugly or cool is a personal opinion I guess. I was given the silver/white version. I don't hate it, but its quite a stocky, solid item. It's surface is easy to wipe over and keep clean. It has a small remote that can be held against the front of the fan by an existing magnet. Great feature as long as children and pets cant reach. It's very convenient though for the adults in the house and means the remote is far less likely to be lost. The remote is small and lightweight and could easily be misplaced.1 comment

Is Average. An expensive fan in my view. Very direct air flow. Does it ACTUALLY purify the air?
I'll be honest I think it is overpriced, likely doesn't do much purifying and does not blow a wide arc of air.
Firstly, I'm skeptical about the Cool Me's purifying ability. How can you prove it works? My wife has allergies and her allergist suggested there is very little evidence that air purifiers do much at all. But maybe that's not correct. I don't know. I can say that after one month of using the Cool Me the filter looks almost new, so how much dust is it collecting? The Dyson website says the Cool Me Personal purifies 28L of air pe...Read more
r second, there are a few things that come to mind. I'm thinking the device would only draw air in from its immediate vicinity, I doubt the air from a whole room is being cycled through the device. Is the Cool Me sucking air in from 4m across the room? Here in Brisbane we have the doors open almost all year round, and with this year's bush fires (2019) and high winds, I'm positive more polluted air, dust and pollen is coming in through doors and windows than the Cool Me could ever handle. Anyway, I'd say do some research before getting any air purifier. Also, no matter how much I try adjust the air flow, I don't like the concentrated jet of air from the Cool Me. The Cool Me Personal has a jet of air rather than a wide arc of air like a traditional fan. Having the Cool Me 1m away from me, air will only blow on about one third of my body. As I sit at my desk on 30 degree days it feels nice and cool on the one third the air is hitting, but then other parts of me are sweating. At night I had the Cool Me running and I didn't feel air all over me, only in a small area as it oscillated side to side. Sorry Dyson, our $20 Kmart fan does a much better job of keeping me cool. On the upside the Cool Me looks stylish, and is well built.Purchased in December 2021.

Good product for air filtration for allergies
I really love the Dyson Cool me, and have noticed less irritation to my eyes/throat when using it compared to a normal desk or ceiling fan (I am someone who suffers from bad hayfever).
Look/Design - I received the white. and silver design and love it. It is so sleek and elegant looking. It feels solid, without being heavy and clunky.
Noise - Even on the maximum setting it is extremely quiet. We turn it on at night and I actually believe the little noise it makes is quite soothing and helps me get to sleep (sounds like air blowing).

This is such a simple and easy machine to use, with everything being control by the remote control. It can easily be set to run for 30 mins, 1 hr up to 8 hours, the swing function can be turned of/off with one button. I am not great with technology, and this took me all of 5 minutes to figure out. It isn't overloaded with functions and Dyson have obviously put a lot of effort into simplicity of design and ease of use. Air Quality - As someone who suffers from allergies, this is definitely better for me then turning a bedroom fan on. The air "smells" clean and filtered. I have absolutely noticed a difference at night from switching from a ceiling fan, that basically just blows around dust, to this that directs cool filtered air onto our faces. Through spring I usually wake up with irritated eyes and an itchy throat, and have noticed this happens a lot less with the Dyson cool me then with our normal fan.Purchased in October 2021.

This is the fan you need if you love great product style
First impressions of the Dyson Pure Cool Me fan is that its a well designed and stylish appliance that definitely suits a minimalist style home. This unit is compact and challenges what a domestic fan appliance should look like, and with this point it could remain on display all year round.
This unit is contemporary - finished in dark low sheen grey with dark copper coloured diffuser and remote control (hidden in plain sight) to help break up the grey.

to cool you with an extremely gentle breeze on setting no. 1 or a more forceful level 10 that will blow papers off the bench. Dyson products have minimal styrene packing so that has to be good for the environment. 1 plastic bag and 2 styrene bags protect the unit. The rest is just cardboard folded to protect the unit in shipping. This is good for the environment and recycle bin. If the unti has elements that are recycled or can be recycled at product end of life this is unknown. Opening the box you're greeted with a 1, 2, 3 step guide to the unit and the remote is presented with descriptions of button functions. The power cord and Dyson plug are hidden under a flap and fell out making a loud bang as it hit the floor. I did not realise this was concealed here and luckily was not damaged when it fell. This is a proprietary plug for the unit so we should look after it. Plug in the power pack to the wall and the plug into the back of the unit and away you go. There is a power switch on the back of the unit also that offers limited functions (fan speed only) if you were to lose the remote.Purchased in November 2021.

Good for light-to-medium use only; and supplemented with other existing options (if possible). Not good for large rooms.
