Excellent Personal Fan & Air Purifyer
As a Product Review Ambassador, I'm happy to let you know my review is completely unbiased or unswayed, is based on my use of the appliance and I hope my experience with the Dyson Pure Cool Me helps you in assessing if the item is right for you.
I've been using the Dyson Pure Cool Me for 4 weeks. Local Melbourne temperature has been erratic ranging from 40 deg C one day to 15 deg C the next day, with winds and pollen around. My 2 bedroom apartment is on the 1st floor of an apartment building, there are no apartments above and there is a high r...Read more

I'm not a great fan of this... fan!
As most consumers will know, Dyson have gone about re-inventing many common household appliances, some to great fanfare and accolade, others not so much. Personally, I have never much liked the look of their vacuums. It's a matter of taste whether you like their space-age designs and the debate, on whether they are any better at cleaning than other, less expensive, brands rages on.
So with this Dyson Pure Cool Me, we are introduced to another space-age design, for a personal fan that includes a HEPA air filter. The concept is quite simple, t...Read more
he air is drawn in through the walls of the tower-shaped base, where it's filtered and blown out through the "searchlight" shaped top, which can be adjusted to blow the air upwards or downwards. I was hopeful, that the filtered air directed to me at very low intensity (level 2) and with the "searchlight" gently oscillating from side to side, it would assist in reducing my overnight pollen allergies that causes nasal congestion. Unfortunately, after several weeks of trying, that was not the case, instead I acquired a stiff neck and shoulder from the breeze! I understand from other reviewers, the fan has made an improvement in the air quality of the bush-fire smoke smells in their rooms. That's one positive benefit at least. I also concede that the breeze is quite cooling and it's also probably better to run the fan, rather than an air conditioner. The remote control is very stylish, if awkward for arthritic hands and completely unreadable in the subdued lighting of the bedroom and it's worth remarking that without the remote control, you can only turn the device on or off by the power button at the rear of the tower. Misplace the tiny remote and you're up for the cost of a new one, as there is no other way of controlling the functions. Should the huge power adapter ever fail I dread to think the replacement cost and also we can't consider the cost of purchasing a replacement HEPA filter, as neither are listed as spares for the appliance on their website! So, in summary:2 comments
I believe anyone who sleeps with a constant breeze passing over them will get some muscle stiffness after a prolonged period, even from an open bedroom window, it's not special to Dyson fans. The prob... Read more
lem is the stream of air is quite concentrated and too close from the bedside table, so I'm deflecting more air upwards than down towards me and that seems to work, but thank you for your concern.

Powerful quiet fan, but missing a few features
The product was really safely packaged. When I collected it from the post office it had a 10cm hole torn in the side of the box, yet the fan was untouched, safely held in its internal cardboard supports.
Unpacking it, our first impression was that the product looks and feels cheaper and more plastic than it appeared in advertisements. However it has a clean simple shape and sleek design which I like. It also takes up less space than a standard fan, though a stand would be good, as it is still bulky enough that sitting it on my bedside table m...Read more
eans I have to remove my lamp, or place the fan on a chair next to the bed, neither is a great option. The product safety information states that it cannot be plugged into an extension lead, Im unsure if this is just Dyson trying to protect themselves against warranty claims, however this seems very restrictive and unreasonable for a product with a standard (i.e. not particularly long) power cord. It is easy to use straight out of the box, with a simple screen which shows the current fan speed. It also shows the timer when setting or checking it, and appears to allow you to check how full the filter is too (mine is still sitting at the lowest level despite the recent bushfires). The screen remains on whenever it is in use, except in the dark. The display turns off immediately in the dark.. Love this!! It wont keep you awake shining in your eyes as you try to sleep. The display also turns straight back on as soon as there is light in the room again, or if you use the remote. This is a really well designed feature!!1 comment

One of the best personal fans and air purifiers out there.
Dyson first impressions are always good. Their packaging is comprehensively descriptive as to the contents inside and all Dyson products come with excellent user guides. Packaging is also good so transit and or handling damages are minimized. The Dyson Pure Cool Me is a compact unit designed for personal use. The first thing I noticed was how compact and unobtrusive the unit is when I placed it on my desk. It is aesthetically pleasing and a lot quieter and safer than the fan it replaced which although small, took up a fair amount of space. Not ...Read more
so with the Dyson. It is exceptionally well designed and is firmly planted due to the five non-slip rubber feet - 3 at the back of the unit and 2 in front of the underside. The fan speed and oscillation is remotely controlled which is a great feature as one can adjust for an optimal air flow setting while seated or lying down. No clunky, noisy switches or difficult mechanical adjustment one mostly finds with cheap desk fans. The up-down direction of the airflow is easily adjusted manually with a light forward / backward motion to the top of the dome of the unit. After that, everything is done at a touch of a button. The 10 speed fan is more than adequate for personal use and the Dyson Pure Cool Me performs exactly as intended. My small home office is mostly hot and stuffy with a fair amount of dust and the Dyson Pure Cool Me works exceptionally well in this environment. The oscillating fan feature for side to side airflow is one of the best I have encountered on any fan - exceptionally quiet and very effective. Within minutes of switching the unit on, the air in the room is cleared of the stuffiness leaving one with crisp, breathable air which is very pleasing when working at one's desk. On hot days with outside temperatures at record high levels, dust and air pollution levels both inside and outside of most buildings escalate and the ultra large filter of the Dyson Pure Cool Me works exceedingly well. It should be noted that this is a air cooler as a result of a fan in operation and not a air conditioner. As soon as Dyson introduce an air conditioner in the same compact format, I will be first in line to acquire one. As far as functionality goes, one of the best personal fans and air purifiers out there.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love the Dyson Pure Cool Me. No more stuffy nights!
I have always wondered if air purifiers work, very sceptical. So I had my doubts with the Dyson Pure Cool Me.
Doubting no more!
Firstly, it arrived just as the hottest beginning to December on record started. What a Godsend! The fan speed range is perfect in the bedroom at night, I tend to have it on speed 3 when I first go to bed, then, thanks to the remote, turn it down later if needed, speed 1 is a lovely soft blow of air across you. Or back up again when the dreaded hot flushes start up. It does go much faster if needed, once again, great...Read more

Efficient, very targeted airflow control, health benefits, very mobile and compact, whisper quiet to calming.
I was quite excited to be getting a futuristic looking device to help with our unique living scenario ... well, perhaps quite common in many other rental places: We live in a larger one-bedroom apartment with only one ceiling fan in the bedroom and one split cycle air conditioner in the main living area which is all quite limiting. I have my little home office set up in a corner, away from the direct reaches of the A/C, so I often resort to placing a pedestal fan facing my back, to funnel the air towards me.
That all sort of works, but I stil...Read more
l often feel sweaty and exhausted until the A/C has cooled down the whole room. We don't keep it running at all times, however. In fact I get tired from a lack of oxygen with all windows closed after a few hours. It is those 'in-between' moments when you wonder if there was an alternative solution that also helps lower the electricity bill. A device that you can move around more easily than the pedestal fan which is always in the way or is needed elsewhere. And along came the new DYSON PURE COOL ME PERSONAL PURIFYING FAN - yay! I've never had any purifying device before, and as for it being a fan, I was keen to see if it could replace the pedestal fan. It's been a good timing to test it, as we've had weeks of pollutants in the air as a result of a number of bush fires, so we had to close all windows for longer periods than we would have liked, but windows are rather poorly sealed, so we still had some smell.Similar opinion? Nice little fan to keep me cool at my desk
Living in an un-airconditioned rental property, I have a collection of fans and more are always welcome. As the bushfires rage at the moment my house is often filled with smoke and dust so with great interest I wanted to see how the Dyson purifying fan would go when it arrived in November. Cool filtered air if you sit in one place
The Dyson Cool Me is easy to use straight out of the box and full instructions are available online. The remote control is easy to use and magnetically sits on the front of the unit when not in use.
I wanted to try this in the bedroom but I only have power points on either side of the bed and after checking the online instructions it says you cant use the Dyson with an extension cord. The unit cord could reach the bedside table but meant I had to move the lamp and everything else, and this was not practical, so this position was not an optio...Read more
n. I tried it on the bedhead but that was too high and I couldnt feel the air. The cord was too short for it to sit on the foot of the bed frame, which would probably have been the best position due to the fan angles. In the end it sat on the floor next to the bed and blew air under the bed, regardless of the fan position. So, no good due to the length of the cord, my powerpoint positions and the height of my bed. The only other place I sit long enough to use it regularly is in the living room, where it sat on the floor, next to the coffee table while I sat on the couch watching TV in the evenings. I tried it on fan speed 10 to start until I cooled down and then turned the fan down to 4. The fan noise is good from 1-4, but higher than that I found it intrusive. I used the Dyson at the time of the bushfires, so keeping the windows open was not an option. The air was definitely cooler than I expected and the smoke smell that did enter the room was quickly dealt with. The unit is light enough to move around from room to room, but I found this a little difficult as I've got extensive arthritis and bending down to unplug the unit and then pick it up, relocate it and bend down to plug it in again was difficult for me, and would eventually stop me ever using it. Bottom line, I think if you had it sitting on your desk or on the floor where you work all day, this would be a great product. For me however, I couldn't find one location where it worked well for my needs and I would rather just have the ceiling fan on.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Overpriced product & terrible customer service
I'm a long time Dyson user with several vacuums, cooling, purifying, heating & hair products purchased over many years. The cooling & air purifiers in my opinion have been good, but not really performed to the level they should given the price point.
I was so hoping that this little Cool Me was to mark a major leap forward across the Dyson cooling & purifying range. With the first machine delivered to me being faulty, I was also expecting premium customer service.

sappointing. Nowhere near up to the standard one would reasonably expect from Dyson or anyone pushing products in this price range. Lets start with the Dyson customer experience. Big fail is Dyson's choice to use StarTrack as its courier service. It took 3 deliveries over a week & multiple phone calls just to get the product delivered. Drivers getting out of the van, not bothering to even get the package out & putting a missed delivery card in mailbox. Also silly enough to do it under clearly marked CCTV. This is pretty typical & consistent behaviour from StarTrack earning them a 1.3 dissatisfaction review rating with similar issues repeated by thousands of customers. I find it hard to believe Dyson wouldn't be aware of the issues because any Australian with a pulse is - StarTrack is really good.... said no one ever! Retailers & manufactures saying they have no control over the couriers is just not good enough. You do have control. There would be a service provider contract, administer it properly, call them out on it under breach of contract & move over to a reliable provider. This is Dyson not a budget chain.4 comments

Personal cooling, at its finest!
Its arrived, its arrived, and none too soon. My tower fan in my bedroom is making some very scary noises. So the Dyson Pure CoolMe, is going into the bedroom, but it will be doing double duty, in the lounge room, as I am playing on my PS4.
OK, this packing is some of the best I have seen. The CoolMe is absolutely snug. So if you are getting it delivered, it would take some serious mishandling to damage the unit.
The remote control is in the top packing piece, so dont forget to grab it, or accidentally throw it out. Nice, minimalist remote. On...Read more
/Off button, speed control below that. On the right hand side is an Filter Info button, the oscillation on/off button and the timer button, which cycles through 2, 4, 8 hrs. And the remote attaches to the CoolMe Purifier using magnets, so its even harder to lose. First impressions. WOW! Drool, drool, drool . . . The Gunmetal and Copper colours are simply gorgeous. This will make itself a talking point with visitors, I am sure. The feel, weight and sense of built quality is definitely there. The case does not feel like cheap material. Very nice, I could play with this all day, and did for a good 2 hours.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Works so well, going to buy another. Perfect for allergies.
Bit of a backstory with this:
My husband suffers from terrible allergies, hayfever, dust, animal dander etc. He constantly wakes up and scratches his eyes and always has a runny nose. He has an anti histamine everyday to help keep his symptoms at bay.
So we thought we'd try this and see if the HEPA filter made a difference. Without exaggeration, I can honestly say it was magical. Within the first few breathes of turning it on, he felt he could breathe more deeply and clearer. Thinking this was just a placebo, we tested it out over the next few...Read more

The Dyson Cool Me impressed my with it's air purifying capabilities
The Dyson Cool Me is a very peculiar device. At first glance I thought it was a gimmick. Looking very technical and observatory like, the design is definitely modern and very aesthetic. I was informed that the Cool Me was a personal unit and not designed to purify an entire room, so I was a little surprised when I unpacked the unit to find the Cool Me is on the large size. It can be a little large for a personal desk or beside the bed (the dimensions are 45 x 27.3 x 27.3 cm), and this is largely due to the size of the HEPA activated carbon filt...Read more
er. But if you manage to squeeze the unit beside you and use it, you will be surprised at how well it works. It was easy to setup and use. Just unpack and plug it in. I did not need to download the instruction manual. There are ten levels of fan settings and five timer settings from 30 minutes to 8 hours or you can just use it indefinitely. The air flow can be adjusted by placing your hand in the middle of the plastic disc and sliding it up and down, whilst oscillating the unit, so the air flow can be perfectly pinpointed. The built in LCD screen located at the bottom of the unit, shows your airflow speed, timer setting and filter life. Initially I set it up on the coffee table in the lounge room for a few days to test the unit and check how it works. The air seemed to have improved in the lounge room during this time, but it was impossible to tell without a doubt as we don't have any official testing equipment to measure the air quality. I found that the unit became noisier after the fifth setting, but it was no noisier than my oscillating tower fan that does not purify the air. I have been hoping to get a heat wave to test the Cool Me at settings above five in hot conditions, but unfortunately the weather has been quite mild to date. The Cool Me is not an air conditioning unit - rather it blows ambient air at a high velocity like a fan. After a week of using the Dyson Cool Me in the lounge, I moved it to the bedside table on my partners side of the bed. At first he was very reluctant to have the unit installed there, but I used the first fan setting and oscillation and he didn't even notice it was on. I set the timer to 8 hours overnight and used it for a few weeks in this way. Then I increased the air flow setting to 2 without my partner detecting that it was on. After only using the Cool Me for the first few days, my partner became very impressed as he suffers from allergies and found that his breathing improved and he didn't wake up in the morning sneezing uncontrollably. I don't suffer from allergies but felt that my breathing improved as well. PROS: - Really does purify and improve air quality dramatically.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love it
Super easy to use it looks really nice and actually matches my decor, so win win, it's fairly quiet when you have the fan speed set low to about a 2 or 3 and it's just a gentle hum and the cooling from this is just amazing, it's easy to adjust the direction of the flow and the timer is super handy and super easy to use, overall it not only looks good but is light enough to move from room to room, the fact that it also purifies the air was a big bonus for me with my allergies, not noticed much improvement in that, and I probably wont notice any improvement in my allergies if they are food related, but if I am allergic to dust etc, then I should notice a difference with further use of the product.

I like it, my wife loves it!
The 'Dome' as we call it in my house started life on my side of the bed, because I'd get occasional sneezing fits and my wife is a sociopath that sleeps with the heater on.
It now lives on my wifes side of the bed after she took a nap with the Dome on and decided to keep it.
The most obvious part of the Dome is the appearance, it looks beautiful (we have the Copper), and the magnetic remote that shapes to the base is a star in its own right.
Inside it's beautiful too, I know because the first thing I did was try to take it apart as much as I ...Read more
could and see what's inside. To summarize; there is a HEPA filter, some air jets, some cogs and so on. It looks quality and I suspect it will be a few years before I get inside it again. By the way Dyson says the following on their site: "HEPA filter for capturing up to 99.95% of airborne particles, including pollen and allergens*" The top of the Dome lets you set the airflow to "up" or "across" basically. Having the air blowing directly on to you is actually quite mild and pleasant. Having it pointed up seemed to circulate the air in our room very nicely.Similar opinion? A Breath of Fresh Air
At $499, the Dyson Pure Cool Me is clearly no ordinary fan. It begs the question what do you get for your money when compared to a traditional fan you can buy for less than $20?
Well in truth, there's a lot more to this product than you might think, and most of it is hidden behind the space age exterior.

Purified Air (10 out of 10) Although hidden from view, air is passed through a medical-grade, glass format HEPA filter, which cleans the air between the room and you. According to Dyson, it traps 99.95% of particles as small as pollen and allergens. Having used it during the current bush fire emergency and smoke haze over Sydney I was very glad to have it. When in use, there was a noticeable difference in air quality and it significantly reduced the smell of smoke and my reliance on air-conditioning to keep cool and breath freely. Dyson Pure Cool Me BP01

Product provided for review.
But opinions & feedback are entirely my own.
OK so here is the general blurb that most places have for this product :
'The Dyson Pure Cool Me BP01 is a compact air purifier and personal fan designed for small spaces. It delivers a precise burst of clean (airflow rate of 257 liters / second), fresh air without blowing anything else around. It operates quietly and can be easily moved around. It uses a HEPA filter and is ideal for single rooms and personal use on desks and tabletops.'
Its important to understand this is an air filter first and fan second. It is designed for close personal/standard room use and not to clear a large room/house.

Dyson pure cool me. First-person air purifying fan I have ever used. Designed elements have been taken from Apple book of designs, a fan that doesn't look like any of the fans that are contemporaries. Airfilter is built into the system all around where the mesh looking area. here the circular opening. Air moves around it freely. Remote has all the controls which stick to the body of the unit magnetically. This seems a bit slippery also could lose it if you are not very careful with it. Filter life is shown by hitting the info button on the remote. I didn't use this device long enough to get the benefits of air purifying mode. Easy to use all the features from the remote. The top comes off by holding the two releasing the clips on either side. Looks easier to clean the filter / replace it. Checking on the web indicate third party availability of air filters that work with this model just in case of Dyson issued OEM filter is out of your price range. The power cord has the power adapter outside easy to plug it. Unlike other DC operated fans this power conversation takes outside rather than built into the unit making it very similar to mobile devices we have today. Great oscillation, surprisingly it moves a lot of air considering how small the unit. Airflow direction can be adjusted from rotating the mid cover. Even at the highest speeds, it is very quite. Very soothing white noise if you want to leave it on for hot summer days in the bedroom. You can have a conversation or watch TV without being bothered by the excessive fan noise. Core flow is fantastic with the ability to control the direction. Siding the dome allows you to control this easily. If your bed is lower you can control this easily by sliding up the dome opening. It's a fan pricey comparing to other rotating blade fans out there similar to all other Dyson brand products. Ideal for one person or two people in a room however when it hits 38 outside no amount of fan can cool you down. Airflow feature makes it less stuffy & its easier to deal with most of the humid days. Turn the AC on use this alongside.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Dyson Pure Cool Me, get it for its air filtration, not solely as a fan
Dyson products are premium, everyone knows that. This is the most basic of all air purifiers from Dynson. There are three models - tower, desk and personal, I prefer to call it dome or sphere for this basic model? All are "bladeless" which basically means a fan sucking air from air-filter section down the bottom, pushing air out the top through the slits in the loop, or in the case of Pure Cool Me, the slits in the dome.
So called Core Flow Technology, the Dyson Pure Cool Me has slits in the dome that are configurable to allow air to come out...Read more
from all directions around the circumference of the head, shooting into the centre on the convex surface creating an upward and diffused effect. Otherwise, it can be changed to close all slits apart from the top one so air will aim horizontally giving a much more aimed-direct airflow. Whilst this Pure Cool Me retains many of the features its bigger brothers have, such as user interface, bladeless design, external power adapter, brushless DC motor (awesome!), etc. Dyson has removed a fair number of features as well. There is no mobile app connectivity hence no report. No sensor or report on the LCD about air quality. No quiet mode (although the unit isn't noisy to begin with). There are no buttons on the fan. Controls are on the curved remote control that is magnetically attached to the body of the unit. I much prefer to have buttons on the fan in case the remote is misplaced. Otherwise, leave the remote attached to the unit. Unfortunately, the remote is attached with the face down against the unit with its back facing up. This means, you must remove it to use it. I wonder over time if the remote will scratch the finish of the unit given both appear to be brushed aluminium. There is no indent where the remote would fit on snuggly. A slot where remote can clip on is so much more practical. For this reason, some find it difficult to attach the remote and complaint about weak magnetism. I know it is consistent across the range but I prefer the LCD to be larger, may be up the top at the bottom of the dome rather than at the base. It is good quality and colour, so why not show it off proudly near the top? The infra red remote is a little weak so you need to point it at the unit. I am curious why the top and bottom of the remote are clear plastic showing screw mounts and circuit board in addition to the IR diode. If it were to help IR reception, I would have preferred the diode to just stick out a little possibly making it even more effective hence greater range. Air filter is good. It works well and the unit is supposed to tell you when it needs to be changed. We have a couple of dogs in the house and the other day I burnt some food. Pretty impressed how effective the Dyson Pure Cool Me removed the smell! It is said to cost about $100 to replace which is recommended annually assuming it is used about 12 hours a day.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
