Take it to Dyson as this was the problem with ours. It’s the bracket disintegrating in the unit.

Oh thank you! So do I call them and make a complaint and see where I send it to ? Did they service or replace the part?

Curious to why the V11 standing dock is unable to hold all the tools on the stand. What tool is suitable for the stand? I’ve found the smaller motorised head does not fit. When connecting the brush tools the brushes touch the stands pole which presses on the bristles alas the bristles get bent. Is this normal? Is it also normal for the stand to feel unsteady and if not what can be done to rectify this?

While the Dok is made of lighter materials, the base has been weighted to ensure it remains upright.

The tool storage clip for the wand of your machine can also be clipped onto the pole of the Dok. When clipped onto the pole of the Dok, it will be able to hold the Mini Soft Dusting Brush, as well as the Mini Motorised head, just insert them backwards (we would suggest the Mini Motorised head is on top).

We hope this helps, however our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] if we can assist further.

Hi, does anyone have an absolutely filthy filter EVEN BEFORE they use their vacuum? For example, when I wash the filter, and wait 24 hours and then put the filter back in, its filthy straight away. Without even vacuuming again! Anyone else?

Hi Soph. It actually seems that way to me!! I wash the filter (As you do) - Leave it for 24 hours overnight (Same as you) and then use it for a VERY short time - and the filter is filthy. My last Dyson only needed the filter cleaned every 6 months or so. This one I basically HAVE to clean after each use - even if I had only used it for a very short period of time!! Don't bother sending it back for Service under Warranty - they will only change the filter - then send it back to you!!

Soph

I agree, my last Dyson filter I only changed once a year or something! This is crazy and I have no time for this. So what did you do to fix it?

Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

This certainly isn't normal nor what we would expect. The filter should not be dirty as soon as you install it, or after a short period.

I have the Dyson DC44 animal. Could someone please tell me how this one compares with the Dyson v11. Is the suction stronger.
I also have the Mieli vacuum cleaner for my carpets and it has 1,200 W power. Can someone please tell me what the power is on the Dyson v11.

Hi Kerry, go to the Dyson.com.au site for the machine specifications - the suction is great, I have a cat and dog which always leave hair, a daily 5 min vac and you wouldn't know they were always in the house...the v11 picks it all up no problems, I recommend it if you have pets, hope this helps

Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

Compared to your DC44, the Dyson V11 machine has stronger suction, longer run time (up to 60 minutes depending on floor tool and mode used), a larger bin, and a more powerful floor tool that automatically adjusts between carpets and hard floors.

While the V11 has a 545W motor, this doesn't indicate the performance of the machine. Dyson engineers work tirelessly to make Dyson machines perform better while using less energy and resources.

We hope this helps, however if you have any further queries our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] and happy to help.

It certainly has the suction power and tools

Dyson

All Dyson V11 machines sold in Australia come with a mini motorised head, ideal for providing powerful cleaning of dust, dirt and pet hair in smaller areas such as the car. For awkward areas, other tools are also provided including a crevice tool to get into tight corners, and a combination tool that also functions as a dusting brush.

We hope this helps, however if we can assist further, our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected].

Does it pick up long dog hair. I have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel he has long hair I am happy to pay the price as I have saved up but I am not buying it if it doesnt pick up dog hair. Is there a new model coming out soon so you dont have to hold the button down I am elderly and have arthritis I think this will tire my hand

Good question. I don't have a dog at the moment so cannot know for sure. But I would not count on it. The upright Latest Dyson would do a good job with dog hair though. The V11 is the current model. I agree, having to hold the button down on the cordless is a flaw. Needs an option where it doesn't require you to do that.

Margaret Lucas

I dont have a dog but it certainly has good suction. It is a bit heavier than my earlier model if you have arthritis.

I agree with Margaret Lucas. I dont have a dog but i do have a rug and It picks up dust, human hair excellent. The suction is fantastic!

Does the V11 get pet hair wrapped around the brushes? How does it compare to the DC07 upright suction wise?

1 answer
Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

Hi Sue,

The key difference with the Dyson V11™ is that it's been designed with a highly efficient straight-line airflow which makes it highly efficient at picking up dust and debris, even when set to low levels of suction. Whereas, corded machines have a less efficient long and winding airflow path and the suction needs to be much higher to get a similar amount of pick up.

The Dyson V11™ has 3 settings, Eco, Medium/Auto or Boost and you can tailor the level of suction to the floor type, or let your machine do it for you when using Auto mode.

As with any vacuum with a motorised floor tool, the Brush bars are designed to pick up hair and over time they'll need some maintenance, particularly in homes where there are people with longer hair or pets. We advise maintaining the Torque head at least once a month as shown in the video:

Two Year official warranty with Dyson, but I would argue your Consumer guarantees should add atleast 1-2 years on top if you push the issue.

Hi Belinda,

The Dyson manufacturer's guarantee for this machine is 2-years from the date of purchase. Machines purchased direct from dyson.com.au or our helpline automatically come with a 45-day money back guarantee.

This machine is designed to pick up typical household dust and debris, but not renovation dust or ash.

I'm just surprised that on the Dyson web site it says this vacuum will run for up to 60 minutes on a full charge. It takes an hour and a half to properly vacuum an average 3-bedroom home. I have four bedrooms and it certainly takes me this long.

Hmm I would say that it’s 60 minutes on Eco mode (low power). What it does really well is automatically ups the power when transitioning from tiles/wood to carpet - my 4 bedroom place takes probably 20-30 minutes with this but probably 40-50 with a regular taking into account pulling it behind me, switching power points etc.

Laraine Anne B.
Laraine Anne B.

I don't pull a heavy vac behind me or continually unplug and plug in. I have a central vacuuming system. But most people don't vacuum properly. You have to take it SLOWLY to allow the machine time to pick up the deep-down dust in the carpet, which is why it should take an hour and a half to vaccuum an average home. Most people use a vacuum like a scrubbing machine. If you follow the present fashion of clattery bare floorboards it probably doesn't take as long, of course.

Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

Hi Laraine Anne B.

The V11 has three modes of suction: Boost, Auto/Med and Eco.

The run time these modes provide depends on the floor surface you're cleaning and, whether the tool selected is motorised or unmotorised.

Boost mode provides 5-10 minutes of run time, Auto/Med mode gives approximately 18-40 minutes of run time, and Eco offering a run time of up to 60 minutes with a non-motorised head.

You can find a video explaining these modes and how to switch between them here: https://youtu.be/Sk7C9sYn-Mk?t=29

How well does the V11 Absolute work on carpet with a high pile?

3 answers

It feels as though it works better than my old vacuum for sure. Our carpets are fairly thick

Dyson
Dyson Team ..Dyson

Most owners find that this machine vacuums thick rugs and carpets with ease, and here's why. When in Auto mode, the Dyson V11 Absolute™ intelligently detects resistance of the brush bar and automatically changes the motor speed for the floor surface, and the level of suction can also be adjusted manually on the Torque Drive head to best suit the surface.

Depends on how high, I have 70s shag carpet and it wont vacuum it.

When using the smaller attachments like the crevice or small brushes there is barely any suction power. Am I missing something or doing something wrong? For ‘the most powerful Dyson yet’ it seems to have woeful suction without one of the large powered heads. HELP!

The vacuums wand connection point is pushed back and therefore the roller head is not spinning. What is the fix here? Hi I’m just wondering. Should my Dyson v 11 when fully charged always have 60miniyes in the display screen? Mine never had shown 60 minutes since purchase. Always approx 40minutws and then when in use will sometimes jump up to 47 minutes and then start counting down.

The display on your Dyson V11 will change dynamically based on the surface you are cleaning, the suction mode selected and the attachment in use.

Boost mode will provide 5-10 minutes of run time, Auto/Med mode will provide 18-40 minutes of run time, with Eco offering a run time of up to 60 minutes with a non-motorised head.
