Totally overrated
The unit cuts off within 5 minutes and restarts after resting. Doesnt pick solids from hard floor but better for carpets. My cheap corded stick vacuum works better! Poor technical support.

Battery problem on Max mode
Using this V6 absolute for 2 years. Had problem with battery as it goes flat after 5 seconds use on max mode. Costumer service was great. Step by step over the phone assessment was great. Got new replacement battery shortly after. However I find this vacuum cleaner is not the finest quality. The canister attachment to hanset is somewhat flimgy. Also the bottom door opens itself while cleaning. Not a happy cleaner

We certainly wouldn't expect the bin on your machine to open during use.

Adaptability and Reliability to the MAX!
Having purchased our V6 Absolute about 3 years ago and after a recent warranty repair I feel compelled to offer support for this product.
Being a 'mere male' I was originally hesitant coughing up the funds that the retailer was asking for the V6 Absolute but as I was to find out very quickly it was money worth spent. Having already purchased a 240v Dyson cleaner about 6 years ago we knew the reliability was going to be high but did we really need another vacuum cleaner? Yes we did.
Our house is a combination of hard timber flooring and carpet a...Read more

Love this
This makes vacuuming fun. It glides from the polished timber to the tiles and then over carpet so easily. The only thing that is a bit of a pain is emptying the canister. The battery last longer then expected and has a great feature of the boost button. The boost helps to get all the crumbs from around the kids seats at the table and also picks up spilt kitty litter from the cat kicking it out of the litter tray! Dyson has fantastic products.

Awesome vacuum!
We bought the V6 absolute to replace our Hoover branded hand-held vacuum and were immediately blown away with the power, attachments and battery life (20 minutes with the max boost button pushed). Attachments all do their jobs. Very happy with purchase!

Lives up to expectations
I use this on floorboards and tiles. It has great suction - manages to vacuum most dust particles away compared to other brands of vacuum cleaners. Only downside is that I would prefer a longer battery life. At the moment it’s sufficient for a quick vacuum here and there but would like to use it more for a full house clean as it is cordless and very mobile.

Great Suction
I use this on floor boards and carpet, even bathroom tile.
The vacuum performs well on all surfaces and transitions seamlessly. The suction is great and it's a good size. I'm happy with the battery life. The only downside is emptying it is a bit difficult, I think the newer models have made this easier.

Disappointed
One of the heads stopped working, now the battery dies after 10mins. Even after cleaning suction is not as good as it was. It was great to start with, but not built to last. To service would cost me more than the vacuum is worth. Feel disappointed.

Hi Terri,
Any issues with Dyson cord free machines are generally quick and easy to resolve with a little troubleshooting together with a Dyson expert via the helpline or email. These machines very rarely, if ever need to be sent to a service centre.... Read more

over priced, over rated, and not worth even close to the price
Carpets, wooden and tiled floors, light weight but, as the title of review say's I would not pay the price for any Dyson product to be honest I can go to my local Bunnings and buy any brand vac for half the price that does just as godd or better in performance.

best vacuum cleaner
Super strong suction that sticks onto floor. The different heads are also useful. Note that fillter needs to be washed regularly. Otherwise it smells bad. a bit noisy sacrifices for strong susction.

Strong and Durable cleaner
I use this vacuum cleaner (which is about 2 years old) on a tiled floor as well as a floor rug in the lounge room. The dyson picks up most things very well. It is very light to handle and yet feels durable. It picks up Dog Hair easily and I rarely have to use Turbo mode. The only problem is in emptying as you need a coat hanger to reach to reach the build up of dirt.

Hubby got me a cordless Dyson yippee
The cordless Dyson is fantastic
Visitors call to say they are coming over.
I wipe out my Dyson & give my family room a once over in 5 minutes
I own a dog, which means vacuuming quite frequently
With the Dyson 6 cordless vac there’s no more bothering with power cords & it has different head that are so simple to put on & off with just the press of a button
To empty the Dyson you just pull up the red lever & your done
Would never go back to a cord vacuum again
Thanks Dyson for make vacuuming so easy

Dyson, you’re a winner...
I bought a Dyson v6 absolute hand stick last year and the whole family is loving the use of it. My 10 and 13 year olds vacuum their own rooms as it’s so light to hold and easy to use. With the selection of attachments it allows the whole house to be dust free as I can get to all nooks and crannies... well done Dyson

It make my life much easier. The working time of the battery is just long enough, so that you're not too exhausted.
It do what it is intended to do! It helps to make the men in my house hands-on in the cleaning process as well. It doesn't feel like a work when you use it to vacuum a room.

Diamonds or Dyson
Dyson absolute is fantastic. Lightweight so easy to use. A friend was recently given a beautiful diamond but I said in all honesty if given a choice I would rather have my Dyson. That’s saying something!

Great for sucking
Great for a quick clean when visitors are on there way unexpectedly.
Does the job but keep in mind a proper vacuum cleaner will suck harder and clean a lot better.
Overall I’m happy with the unit for what it dose

A neat package
Having purchased this item some time ago I can't possibly live without it. From hard floor to rugs to carpet, it works equally well, never losing suction just plowing along. The only thing I'd change about this powerful little machine is a longer battery time. Love it.

It just shortens my daily cleaning to the minimum time. Highly recommend for family with small kids.
Mostly used on hard floor, used better on hard floor as well.
Easy to dissemble but a little hard to reassemble for cleaning.
I have been using this for more than 2 years and will upgrade to V10 this December for longer time use.

Can't live without it!
I can't imagine daily life without this stick vacuum. I have two preschoolers and a labrador (who sheds all year round!) and my Dyson V6 Absolute takes it all in it's stride! I love the different attachments for carpets and hard floors. After four years of almost daily use the battery died, and Dyson were able to send a replacement out for $79 - it's as good as new! Would definitely purchase this brand and style again when the time comes to upgrade, but for now this one is fantastic.

It just displays a amber light when you pull the trigger ?
1 answer
Dyson Team ..Dyson
An amber light usually means the machine is too hot or too cold to run. We would recommend leaving the machine in a room between 3 degrees celcius and 40 degrees celcius for half an hour before retrying or charging the machine.
If we can assist further, our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] and happy to help.

The felt strip on the motor head is peeling off. We tried hot glue to reattach, but it only lasted a day or so. What do you recommend to reattach it?
Used regularly for three years now, very pleased. Thank you

Dyson Team ..Dyson
If the felt strip has come off the head, we would encourage replacing the part it is connected to.
We would kindly ask you to forward your query, a photo of the effected part, along with the machine serial number and your details to [email protected] and our Dyson Experts will be be happy to assist.

My V6 Animal hand stick has all of a sudden died when i plug the motorised head in.
It will work perfect with no attachments.
I bought a replacement motorised head as I thought it may be the head that was broken.
The brand new head wont work. When the head is plugged in and I try turning it on it will flash a green light once that is it.
Vacuum seems to be charging as normal, can still work with other NON motorised attachments.
Vacuum has been full pulled a part and clean thoroughly. Still wont work.
Any ideas, i do not want to be wasting money on more parts that arent the problem?

I know it's not exactly the same question, however the first steps are often the same. Please follow those suggestions before purchasing anything else. It sound like it could be a battery issue as well. The motorised heads will be the first attachments to stop functioning with battery related issues.
Please let me know how you go,
Happy Consumering
