Love it!
Perfect for my carpeted areas. Not as good on my tiles. So easy and suction is still amazing after 4 years use! Battery life is still perfect also. The only issue I have and it not really an issue is I have to clean the head out regularly due to the spinning brush getting long hair tangles as there is 3 girls in my house.

Great Vacuum. Terrible battery
The vacuum itself is great. It is so easy and works well. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of the batteries on the handheld cordless Dyson V6. I have had my Dyson for just over 4 years and I am on my third battery. The past two batteries have died on the two-year mark. The replacement cost of $85 is exorbitant, particularly since its life is so short. I don't use this every day. My mother's cheap handheld vacuum is still going without a battery replacement after 4 years. This is not good enough. The most expensive handheld vacuum on the market should have a quality battery. For this reason, I would not recommend it, unless you are happy to fork out $85 every two years.

you do not promote this when you sell your vacuums. In any case, two years is very poor. We use our Dyson about 2-3 times per week and more often than not on low power. This is low usage. This has happened to TWO (both) batteries, in fact, the second battery was worse and lasted less than two years (I did not contact Customer service for over 2 months after it died).Similar opinion? Best purchase of my life!
This product was purchased to help with spot-cleaning the high use areas of our home, for example the mess produced by our young children at meal times. However I have found that this product performs so well that I now find that I am using it exclusively! We no longer use our barrel vacuum cleaner (also a Dyson, but more than ten years old now).
The best feature is without a doubt the Direct Drive Cleaner Head. This has a rotating brush which gets deep into the carpet to remove dust and small particles. The head somehow effortlessly adapts s...Read more
o that we can vacuum throughout the house moving from hard floors to carpet without the need to stop and adjust/change the head. The degree of suction is amazing and I find that it is very efficient with good suction. The battery when charged provides around 20 minutes of use. We have a smallish house (<20 m2) and find that we can do a quick clean of high traffic areas of the whole house before losing charge. If we want to do a thorough clean (ie changing the attachment for dusting sills and skirting boards etc) we would probably need to charge halfway through. This vacuum cleaner is easy to empty and we find we need to empty it after every use. (We have new carpet which is still shedding a bit). One of my children is allergic to dust mite and it is so comforting for me to see the degree of dust collection as I am cleaning the house. Last weekend I performed a thorough clean of our car interior and this vacuum cleaner was perfect for the job, all the different attachments made light work of cleaning the mats and crevices. I am so happy with this product, it really has changed my life! I love how effortlessly clean my home isPurchased in January 2021 at Catch for $398.00.

Worth the hype
This vacuum works fantastically and is deserving of all the hype it receives. Dyson customer support is also amazing and will solve issues quickly if/ when they arise. The V6 is let down by the dust chamber, which is not as convenient to empty as the newer Dyson models, but I decided the price saving was worth it which is why I went with the V6. The 'Animal Extra' version also comes with a quite a few handy extra attachments to use with the vacuum.

Most frustrating appliance ever
I've struggled for 18 months with this vacuum cleaner. Keep thinking it's me given all the great reviews it's got. I spend more time unblocking it than actually vacuuming. Anything bigger than biscuit crumbs get stuck at the top of the wand or in the bottom. You need a skewer to get the dirt out of the canister and you end up filthy! The canister comes off when you don't want it to and won't come off when you do. I hate this vacuum cleaner and have finally put it in the bin. My neighbour by the way has the same model and gave up months ago. I'm going back to Hoover.

Absolutely love this vacuum
We actually bought this vacuum in Australia and bought it home with us to NZ as we were visiting with my daughter and her family and they have one. It is very light and very easy to use. My old vacuum was great but too heavy. I noticed with this one even my two young grandsons could grab it and do their rooms with ease. I have also convinced my mum to buy one as well. It seems fine on any floor surface. We have it hanging up in a cupboard. Just a case of grab it, use it, empty it and hang it up again. Couldn't be easier.

Dyson v6 animal.
I have had the Dyson v6 animal for around 1 mth now and i was a little concerned at first. One being the price but i cannot talk this beauty up enough. It's light and so easy to use. No cords to trip over and it attaches to the wall so it's out of the way. It has so much power. With my busy family of 5 it definitely gets a workout.
I highly recommend this vacuum cleaner. Never going back now.

Dyson keep upping their game
Yet again, really impressed with Dyson. Prior to this had another model. This hand stick is light weight and picks up after a toddler and baby; from hard wooden floors to carpet and tiles. Easy and convenient to clean and empty.

Good but not as tough as I'd hoped
I've had this for about 12 months now. The suction is great on the power mode, but the average suction is only ok. We have floor boards so its useful but if you want it to suck up anything over dust its hard. A bread clip for example wont go up, neither will a twisty tie tag for a bag. The hair gets stuck in and around the middle part of it and its gross having to use your fingers to pull it out. Little pieces of cat food just get pushed away so you have to bend over and use a dustpan and broom anyway.

The Only Vacuum I Would Buy Again
I bought this for a sharehouse I was living in (five people and a labrador). It was on sale and the current vacuum cleaner was practically useless. Straight out of the box this thing just works; we have a mixture of low-pile carpet and tiles, which the Dyson makes light work of. The "Max Suction" setting can actually be frightening because it's so strong. In a medium-sized house, I have never had issues with battery life and it charges without issue (I bought the earlier version of this for my parents back in 2014 and it's still going strong). ...Read more
I vacuum every day and it never feels like a chore. Yes, clearing the head of hairs can be annoying (but actually it's totally fine), but just as with any well-performing product, it requires basic user care. The mountable dock and attachments are a nice touch. Highly recommended.Purchased in August 2021 at The Good Guys for $398.00.

Was a cynic when hubby bought it, but love it now!
So handy having a powerful little vac that you can grab for any of those little messes that the little ones or pets make! So good for the stairs as well. We have a ducted vacuum in our house and I haven't used it once since we got the dyson! My only whinge is that it doesn't last forever and takes ages to charge back up again, but I guess you just have to do little vacuum sessions more frequently.

Convenient but the battery does not last very long
Convenient but I wish the battery lasted longer that 10-15 minutes. It does a great job on sucking up daily life grime and accidental spills etc. Easy to used and very light weight.

My Dyson will not charge. When I press the start button it flashes red 34 times. Does it need a new battery?
1 answer

If your Dyson V6 is flashing a red light 34 times, it would indicate the battery on the machine would need to be replaced. You can purchase a replacement battery for the Dyson V6 here: https://shop.dyson.com.au/spare-parts/battery-967810-21
