Apparently only good on regular use
Mainly just use it when I wash the car, unfortunately the battery was giving up when I try to use it in the last few months it only give me 1-2 minutes run time. Contacted Dyson and they said if you don’t use it regularly like once a month the battery will start to give up. Purchased October 2017 so they said it’s out of the warranty period, and told me to buy a new battery. What’s the point?
If your not going to use it regularly like once a week, do not buy it. Get a cheaper brand.

Absolutely terrible
Absolutely terrible vacuum battery lasts 10 minutes and the suction is horrendous and it spits the dirt across the floor. I would never buy a Dyson again just not worth the money you pay for the product.

Not as powerful as I hoped and battery died after 11 months
I thought battery would be better and that the Dyson would be more powerful. Luckily they are sending me a new battery, a bit disappointed as it is a very expensive cleaner

You get what you pay for
We have had the stick vac for just under 2 years. It wasn't meant to take over from the barrel vac but it has because it is so light & easy to use and great performer on all types of surfaces. When the battery died a couple of weeks ago, I didn't think that was right .Neither did Dyson .They were happy replacing the battery and charger on warranty .There are a lot of other manufacturers who could learn from this - Good customer service

Perfect suction
This is amazing! Brilliant suction, light as a feather and is perfect for the small area I need it for (both carpet and hardwood floors) I have two dogs, and I can't believe how much hair it picks up compared to my other vacuum. I'm hooked! I actually enjoy vaccuuming now

Amazing
Amazing vaccum for a quick clean. I personally enjoyed using this every day but found like most things the battery starts to fade over time. Yes these are replaceable but thats the price of a new one.

Product of the year again
I use it on all surfaces. Car and house both benefit. Easy to clean and maintain. The roller in the head unit is replaceable but it lasts a long time compared to the amount of work it receives.

V6 pretty much a fail. Should have purchased a later model
Bought the v6 stick from Catch this year. Big mistake, should have done my research. I only have hardwood floors and it doesn't pickup, just spreads debris around. Also dirt, fluff and hair get caught around filter so barrel needs removing every time. Push red lever down whole way as instructed but doesn't detach. Have to twist, pull and fiddle for a good 5 minutes then go through same thing to replace. Very, very frustrating machine. Sorry, wasted my money there!

Great and worth it
I bought this from catch and I didn’t really know what Dyson was at the time but when I first started using it I was amazed of how a cordless vacuum was so strong like it was just so quick to collect dirt and not even that it also have a max button to select if you u want to make it powerful but the unit is already fast wouldn’t need to use it but it great to have a option
**ps**
I had a small problem with the lid the open to clean the dust wasn’t closing after a couple of months but a quick phone call to Dyson and they replaced it it’s good to keep in mind with your products in the warranty stage if anything’s wrong with them to get it fixed!!
Purchased in October 2021 at Catch for $248.00.

Awesome vacuum.
Isn't cheap but so practical.
My wife has used it almost every day for the past 3 years.
I was sceptical and researched quite a while before deciding. This thing is just so convenient.
My home is much cleaner now just because we can just grab this thing and fly over the floors rather than hauling out the vacuum cleaner and having to plug it in three different places because the cord doesn't reach.

Get one while you can!
Ok so this is a discontinued model but there are still plenty available on sites like Catch, Kogan and Dick Smith. And the price is down to $299 (got ours for $200). It cleans amazingly well for a stick vacuum on our carpet and timber floor. Has a “max” (boost) button for harder to extract grime. Would be perfect as your main vacuum in an apartment but we use it in our 4 bedroom house and though the battery only lasts about 20 - 25 min, we can do a quick good job in that time when we don’t want to drag out the vacuumaid. You can tell it works b...Read more
y the amount of dust in the canister after each use. And I advise you to empty the canister straight into the bin after each use for this reason. Getting the canister off for a good clean out can be a little tricky and certainly not as easy as the Dyson YouTube instruction video makes out, but with practice it gets easier. We store it in a hall cupboard with a PowerPoint so it recharges everytime you put it back in the cradle which is easy to wall mount. As I said, for the price, it is a great 2nd vacuum for us and at the current price, we’ll worth it. Get one while you can!Purchased in October 2021 at Myer Retail Stores for $200.00.

How did I survive before I had one of these?
I use this on both my carpet and vinyl planks, it slides well over the planks.
I find it works extremely well on the vinyl planks and excellent on the carpet. It is great at picking up dog hair.

Best Vacuum
I've been using this vacuum for over a year now and I can say it's a really tough one. I am using it to vacuum carpeted, tiles and concrete floor and on regular power, it can handle 4 bedrooms, kitchen and dining area, living room, a big hallway (size of 4 bedrooms) and big veranda (size of 4 bedrooms) and still not flat. The max setting only lasts 5 minutes now. It cleans well and easy to empty. Just make sure to always check the roller as hair accumulates around it and you have to clean it after every vacuum - thats it if you're like me who has hundreds of hair fall every day.

Dyson Quality has dropped in last 5 years
I am a Dyson loyalist for entry level products but in last few years they have dripped the quality of their products. I have purchased 2 x stick v6 slim in last 3 years when on sale $299 both got issues. 1st one had issues with max speed and always stop start in every 30 sec and 2nd one suctionnroller head small tiny wheels cane off and start scratching my wooden flooring. Any tome you call Dyson it's all about do this do that and spend 1-2 hrs on phone or they say post or bring the device to their service centre in South somewhere in NSW. They...Read more
are forcing customers to purchase high end products which I beleiev is rubbish. I am sure Dyson will slowly loose their loyal customers. Overall poor quality and worst customer service. I will rather Spen this money in buying a generic brand and change vaccum every year.Purchased in January 2021 at Harvey Norman for $299.00.

Disappointed.
Not overly impressed. Yes it has good suction but emptying the canister/filter is messy and difficult. Doesn’t work if canister is full and Won’t charge or hold charge unless empty. Charge lasting 10min max.

Sorry to hear you are disappointed with your Dyson V6 machine. To confirm, your V6 should achieve a run time of 6 minutes on max, or on normal mode, a run time of 16-17 minutes with a motorised floor ... Read more
tool attached, or 20 minutes without. Standard out of the box, your machine will be on Max mode. To change to normal mode for the longer run time, while the machine is running with your finger on the trigger, press and release the "Max" button on the back of the machine. The "Max" button light will turn off and you will hear the machine change tone to indicate it is now running in normal mode.Thank you. I was unaware of the different mode programs and have rectified this. Dyson have been very quick responding to my email and lack of power issue and will be sending out a new battery. Thank you.

Dyson Cordless Vacuum

Poor value for money
The battery died after 2 years and 2 months. It had very little use, about 3 times a month, and I never left it charging continuously. For the price you would expect it to last a long time. I have power tools where the batteries last for years. Cant justify the price to buy another Dyson, as the quality obviously isn't there, may as well now look at some of the cheaper brands.

Used to Love it
It WAS good, when new..
2 years down the track (as soon as warranty is void)
and its stopped working, weve taken very good care of it and always kept it clean and charged yet the battery just died one day and it will not hold charge beyond 5secconds of use.
It flashes red all the time with a fault and no warranty as its lapsed.. $450 for 2 years use is a bit steep for a vacuume!
It only ever lasted a few mins to clean tiles anyway, wont be purchasing another!
Purchased in March 2021 at Harvey Norman Appliances Physical Store for $449.00.

Vacuum works well but definitely needs improvement
I use it for carpet and tiles. With the max power it is great for carpet but sometimes lacking if it’s just on normal. Waste bib button can be improved as the button ejects the whole canister resulting in everything falling into the bin.

Why doesn't it work properly? We have had one for 6 months now and at first it was great but, even after totally cleaning out, it just doesn't pick fluff and dust up. Very disappointed, will never buy this brand again.

why does the motor head only spin for a couple of seconds, then the machine stops momentary, then restarts without the motor head spinning. Works OK without the motor head. The motor head was jammed and I have now freed it up but still same problem.

Sounds like a blockage somewhere. If you phrase Dyson you’ll wait on the line forever but their live chat is quick and very helpful. They will be able to sort it out.
Dyson Team ..Dyson
We are sorry to hear that you are having an issue with the motorhead of your cordless machine. We recommend to follow these checkpoints:
1. Clean the brushbar as shown in this video here: https://youtu.be/fdnu4yk-5vI?t=25s
2. Separate the clear bin from the main body of the machine as shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWG-AgswpQo Once the clear bin is separated, clean the metal contacts behind the clear bin and on the main body with a dry cloth. Assemble the machine and test if the motorhead will spin.
3. If the motorhead still does not spin after following steps 1 and 2, please remove the long wand and test if the motorhead will work when connected straight on the nozzle of the clear bin.
If the motorhead still does not work after following above steps please forward your details to [email protected] and our Dyson Experts will be in touch shortly to help get this sorted.
