Perfect
I use it for areas my Miele upright cannot go, great suction and the perfect vacuum for under furniture, beds etc. would highly recommend as the second household vacuum for awkward places.
Purchased in December 2021 at Big W for $340.00.

Vacuum doesn't last more than 6 months
Lasted 6 months before the head stopped working, called Dyson for trouble shooting and a replacement head was sent, tried the replacement and it's still not working, waiting for a replacement body now. No option to take it anywhere convenient to be looked at and no option for express post/courier, so will be left with no vacuum over Xmas/new year. Poor service and poor product that it doesn't last more than 6 months. First and last Dyson!
Purchased in May 2021 for $350.00.

Best Vacuum Ever!!
I use this vacuum for myself and in my housekeeping job. Used on all floor surfaces. Better than a cord pull along vacuum easy to charge and easy to use. The suction is amazing. I love it so much that i have recommended it to several people who all went out and bought one and they love it to. I didn't buy the V8 Dyson the vacuum heads are different and swivel around to much.
But the V7 is perfect Thank you Dyson!!

Handheld is so good
Highly recommend this handheld vacuum cleaner that can also be transformed into a normal one. Vacuum cleaners should be cordless like this one because of the ease of use and not have to find a power outlet. I mainly use the handheld way which is very useful and powerful especially for hard to reach spots that a regular vacuum would have trouble with. Would easily buy this product again.

Great vaccum
Love this new stick vacuum. Don't know how I cleaned without it. Great suction and love the motor head. Having two dogs they leave a lot of hair around. This vaccum picks it up really well and is great to use on stairs.

Very good
This is the best vacuum I have ever had. We got it before we got our puppy so we didn't get that one for the animal fur but it still works great. It's amazing to see how much dust and hair gets collected only after couple minutes of vacuuming. Battery doesn't last for too long. We have 1 BR apartment and the battery is just enough for vacuuming out whole place (half of our place/tiles on low and half of it on max/carpet) but if you have more than 1BR you might need to recharge more often which can be annoying.

Great stick vacuum
So easy to use and store. Always ready when required. Used on both hard flooring and carpet and cleans both surfaces well. Head can be a little noisy though on hard flooring.

Compact, convenient and lightweight
Im using it for about a month now. I am very satisfied with this vacuum cleaner. It's compact, lightweight and does a good job for our carpet. I also use it for vinyl and so far i got no issues with it. The battery life is quite enough for 3 carpeted rooms. Its convenient for me too since having 2 babies in the house, its difficult to move around using a big vacuum.

Decent
The suction isn't enough for general usage unless turbo is on. I still like using it when I need to vacuum a mess quickly but this does the job and I have no regrets purchasing it.
I won't recommend purchasing this full price as I don't thin it's worth the price.

Portable, Compact and Useful, Although Poor Battery
Mainly use this vacuum on ceramic flooring and carpet, which it does to great effect. Portable and compact so easy to use and store. Although battery life is frankly quite poor, maybe get around 15 minutes of use before having to charge.

Dyson V7 motorhead
Short version: Local store put the V7 motorhead on special. It fell within budget, so we go one. Having been cleaning the house ever since. The V7 Motorhead is seriously impressive at cleaning carpet and a real gem as a piece of equipment.
Long version: In our little house a big machine is hard to use. I struggled with our big Kirby for a long time. The Dyson V7 is very easy to use in tight spaces and picks up dirt very very well. Its easy to use. I have had several cheap stick vacs in the recent past. The last one overheated and died not ...Read more
long ago. The differences between the Dyson V7 motorhead and cheap ones are: The cheap stick vacs have the issue of the physical (paper) filters blocking to a large extent within 20 minutes of use. They have to be removed and cleaned each time I did the cleaning. As a result of filter clogging, the motor would get hot - and the cheap ones blow quite hot air from new anyway, and it gets hotter the more you use them. With the Dyson V7, the motor only ever blows warmish air. Its never hot. Generally a good sign that nothing is straining or overheating. The Dyson cyclone system which includes the little conical things on the top, works very very well at keeping dust and dirt away from the physical filters. As a result, after cleaning the house for hours yesterday, the two filters in the V7 motorhead remained clean to the eye by last night. Unheard of and impossible in a cheap stick vac. As result the Dyson at 10 pm last night was as effective as when I first started using it yesterday afternoon. It works very well, is easy to use, the trigger takes no effort, and I can use it for 10 - 15 minutes at time without my wrist getting sort. It does not trigger the arthritis in my hip. Perhaps Dyson could design a model for people with arthritis in their hands, a difficult ask but they could do it. I dont mind people having a different opinion to me. However, when this V7 wears out I'll would buy another one. For sure. I have one complaint about Dyson marketing. The array of different models and the lack of clarity of what accecories and what features go with which models is an impediment to buy a Dyson. In the end despite a number of phone calls to shops and to Dyson and spending too much time on the Dyson site, (a very poorly designed website) I finally confirmed what filters the motorhead V7 came with by going to the Spare parts catalogue page for the machine on the Dyson site. Half the shops and 2 dyson staff (out of 4) turned out to be wrong. The cord free V7 has one physical filter which must be cleaned, the motorhead V7 has two. I wanted 2 physical filters. Both the motorhead motor and the cord free model of the V7 have the motorhead. It should not have taken 2 weeks to confirmed this. 9.95 out of 10 for the actual machine, 2 out of 10 for product information on the Dyson site and via voice communication. Seems Dyson thinks confusion aids sales. Nope sir, it puts me off. Actually its a bit arrogant. imo. Here's an example Mr. Dyson: When VW, years ago, introduced twin carby engines in its Type 3 models, it DIDNT distinguish between them from the single carb models by painting the tyres of the twin carby cars pink. No, it did the rational thing and called them the VW Type 3 TS models. For Twin Solex. Likewise, the V7 "motorhead" should be called the twin filter model (TF) and the V7 "Cord free" should be called the SF. After all both of the models have the motorhead, and both models are cord free, you gumbies.1 comment

Great handheld vacuum. Strong suction and decent battery-life provided you charge it properly.
Bought the V7 Cord-free on sale and it has been very useful around the house.
First of all, we use it as a companion to the full size Dyson Barrell vacuum cleaner.
It comes with a motorised "floor attachment" but we just use the narrow nozzle attachment.
It is great for sucking up the odd clump of dog hair or just simply dirt & dust around the house.
Very handy as it beats getting out the large and heavy Full sized vacuum and pulling out the cord to plug it in etc.
Also the bin emptying mechanism is all-new on the V7 and it is easy & effective....Read more

Your Dyson V6 has smart electronics within the machine, battery and charger to ensure the machine won't overcharge. To confirm, we recommend leaving the machine machine on charge when not in use, even if you haven't fully used the battery. This will ensure it is always ready for your next cleaning session. The electronics in the machine will ensure the battery charges to 100%, but not over. Again, thank you for sharing your experience and please don't hesitate to get in touch if we can assist. Good for the initial few months only
When we bought this dyson we were really pleased with it. It obviously does not have the suction on a corded big dyson, but it serves well for the quick clean-up.
HOWEVER, it is now a few months into our life with this dyson and the motor has completely gone bust. After 2 mins of vacumming it starts switching on and off like a spluttering engine. We're so disappointed as it wasn't a cheap buy - $500!

9 minute battery life
I use it on hard floors n tiles and carpet, it works well.
Unfortunately the battery lasts only 9 minutes and the unit can get heavy in your hand.
Personally, I dont think its worth the money, if it lasted longer than 9 minutes, then it would be ok.

Overpriced and Underperforms
We purchased the V7 animal just 6 months ago.
The battery lasts about 5 mins on high power setting and 20 mins on low power after a full charge....only problem is it doesnt pick up much on the low power setting so pretty much limited to doing one room at time.
Intermittently the unit will not switch between low power or high power and stays stuck on low.
It will also then swap between levels going high/low rapidly even on a full charge with an empty canister

Easy to use, very strong suction.

Very good. Perfect for everyday cleaning. Just don't replace your standard vacuum.
I took the plunge and bought one of these vacuums after using one at a friend's place. The motorised head works brilliantly on carpet - works much better than our big standard vacuum which has a static head to get stuff off the carpet. It's mostly the motorhead doing all the work.
We only have one tiled surface in our small unit - the kitchen. I believe it works better picking up stuff from the carpet than from tiles, but that's just my experience.
Don't be fooled by those saying these vacuums have awesome suction - they aren't anything close...Read more
to a standard barrel or upright vacuum cleaner in terms of suction power - they just don't have anywhere near enough power to do it (I believe this Dyson is only 20 air watts of suction, while top of the range barrel vacs are around 250 air watts). Just don't get rid of your barrel vac, you'll still need it occasionally for deep cleaning. However, these are a joy to use for day to day cleanups. The motorhead does most of the job agitating the surface dirt off of carpet/tiles. The included docking station makes it so convenient just to pick up the thing and use it. Emptying the canister is pretty easy, but it fills up mighty quick. We've only got a small unit so it's not annoying - the bins are always close by, but I could see how someone with a large house could start having issues.Purchased in July 2021 at The Good Guys for $449.00.

Some sites say the V7 animal has a hepa filter, and here you are saying it doesn't. Confused?? I would like the hepa filter, can you please advise which model I need. And I have 2 dogs.
2 answers
Hi Jan my review was for the Dyson V7 Motorhead. The animal is a different model I believe, my son has the animal and yes he said it does have a HEPA filter
Dyson Team ..Dyson
Apologies for any confusion Jan. While we don't use HEPA filters in our cord-free machines, all Dyson Cord-free machines use our patented cyclone technology to spin debris (including pet dander, dust, dirt and particles as small as cigarette smoke) out of the air.
While our machines do have filters as a precaution, our machines rely on our patented cyclone technology to provide the high level of filtration.
We hope this helps, however if we can assist with any further queries, our Dyson Experts are available via [email protected] and happy to help.
