To build or to buy an already made home? What suburb should I build in? What were the costs involved in each step and how many savings did I need? Do I really get government incentives? Do you really think I'm ready to buy a home? Even though these are simple and clear questions I got quite a few different answers from quite a few agents and builders offering the same service. An Easystart ad on TV caught my attention and I made a quick call, 5-10 minutes later I was very well professionally handled on the phone by Mr. Paul Marriott which made ...Read more
me come down for a chat. In 15 minutes, I could see by the information materials, Paul Marriott himself and the structure of the company, I felt comfortable and started asking the same questions again. 2 hours later I had my next meeting organised which would involve visiting a couple of land spaces north of the city. I gave my requirements clear to Paul which he decided to assist me and he convinced me that Success would be a great area even though it looked far on the map. I was lucky enough to be able to hold the last lot and today I'm celebrating with my house already built just 1 year after our sit down. I am very happy with Summit for the professionals I met during the building process and the construction supervisor, Jamie McDonald that kept me updated during the entire process. I could see a very well organised site operation management of materials being ordered, delivered and labor doing their job that allowed me to have my home within the expected time. I do recommend Easystart Homes and Summit and a special thanks to Paul Marriott [email ad removed] Fernando

Customer Satisfaction at its best
The Construction Supervisor Marco Palezza has done a splendid job of getting the job done on schedule. Trades are very well coordinated and any issues from us have been addressed in a very timely and professional manner.
His team from Brick Layers to Tilers are very professional and exhibits decency and cleanliness in executing their jobs.
Summit Homes has provided us a wonderful experience working with them being our first home. As they say, first impression is lasting. If you need a builder that has quality built in to their work, go for Summit Homes.
Well done guys and thank you

First Home, First Building Experience, Smooth Process
From the beginning of the process to the end, it was "easy" with Easy Start Homes who is a part of the Summit Group. Brian, my consultant, knew what design I was looking for and worked within my budget to find my ideal first home. I was kept up to date with every process throughout the build through the online portal which I could log in and see the progress stages and photos of the house, that was amazing . My pre-start consultant Cerys, was great, she answered my questions promptly and was very helpful. I definitely recommend Summit Group to everyone, smooth process and made building my first home a breeze.

Happy Days From First Home Buyer
We are currently building The London in Wellard through Easystart homes and couldn't be happier. We are in the early stages of the build but can say that our experience so far has been excellent. Our sales rep Julian Nott helped us through any confusion there was with my partners visa and the customer service we have received since then has been amazing. We have just had the roof struts finished in the building process and can say from slab down to now has been a quick and enjoyable process with very good workmanship. We are being kept up to da...Read more

Quality Builder with exceptional customer service
I'm at lockup stage of my Easy Start Home and so far have been very impressed with the quality of the service and workmanship. From the very beginning liaising with the new home consultant, moving onto the Client Administrator and then the Site Supervisors the customer service and communication has been exceptional. I've been provided with time frames at each stage of the process and all contractors have met their individual deadlines and exceeded my expectations. I'm very impressed with the entire process and have recommended Easy Start Homes to family and friends who are looking to build.

Extremely Poor customer service from maintenance team
We've built with Easy Start last year and the pre-start process wasn't too bad although the communication failed us at one point. The last site supervisor was quite friendly and attended to our queries thoroughly.
However the service maintenance team is extremely poor. The lady was very rude to us and was extremely unprofessional with the way she communicated to us. The issue was escalated and yet we still didn't get an apology for the complaint. The supervisor also didn't think her staff did anything wrong and on top of that, we are a repe...Read more
at customer of Summit however never again. Overall, the process was ok but the end result having to deal with their service department completely put us off. Too bad for Summit as they have lost a genuine customer. Fast to build Maintenance period, it hasn't been satisfactory. Slow to get things done and not being done properly.Similar opinion? Summit does great work
From the very start of the process everything went great it was smooth, fast and very helpful. The quality of the workmanship was very good. I have seen some of my friends with their companies and they had all sorts of issues but there were hardly any issues and when they came up I was told about them and he was already fixing it. I would recommend summit homes to anyone wanting to build a house.

Excellent Experience from start to finish.
This being our first time building our first investment property, we were very nervous and have heard lots of horror stories. Summitt (Easy Start Homes) were brilliant and professional from start to finish. Salesmen helped us find a block to fit our choice of design home. Once the slab was done the tradesmen coming in were on time and workman ship was great, so much so our painter who came in after handover was very impressed with the quality of the walls, no patch up were needed on walls or corners, which he said was usually the case with ...Read more
other builders. Our site supervisor seamed fussy, which was great for us, and nothing was too much trouble, always kept us informed as to what was happening and sorted any queries straight away. Everything ran so smoothly and has certainly not put us off building again. Once handover was done and we had a tenant move in a couple of small issues needed to be sorted, and this was done immediately. All in all a fantastic experience, would definitely try to use the same site supervisor again as i think a good one makes all the difference.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

First home builder, could not be happier.
When we were looking around display homes, the New Generation consultant was the only person who would give us the time of day. He was patient, never pushy, and offered us information on general home building as well as estates and land sizes available. He actually advised us of Easystart's range of houses, which was more suitable to the type of house we were after. He stayed in touch with us throughout the entire building process, and made it clear to us that he was always there to continue to assist. The prices estimates that we were given st...Read more
ayed true, and we were told well in advance of any potential extra charges that might be incurred for situations/restrictions that might have applied to us. Final working contracts took a little while to sort out, but we were expecting it as we had made some changes to the display plan. Whilst it was frustrating and quite lengthy (about 2 to 3 weeks) at the time, the changes were initiated by us, and we wanted to make sure that the construction phase would be spot on so understood that getting the plans and all amendments correct was of utmost importance. Even after final working contracts were finalised, when we changed our minds about non-construction items or wanted additional items added, our contracts administrator was very accommodating and raised the variations for us, and was always only a phone call and email away. Our construction supervisor was polite, courteous, extremely prompt in replying to all of our queries and kept us up to date about each stage of construction, as well as when the trades were scheduled in for works. The site was kept clean (sounds petty, but makes such a huge difference practically), and construction was protected from damage (door/window frames, plaster, bricks, etc.). Materials for each stage of construction was delivered to the garage (once the brick plate was up), protected from the elements and works started the next day or so, to minimise clutter. Our construction supervisor responded to all of our queries no matter how silly (and there were a few of those), and addressed any issues that came up in a speedy manner. We were kept informed of works, including once each stage of construction had finished and what to expect next. We were never made to feel as if we were pests or if we were asking questions that were beneath our sales consultant, contracts administrator and construction supervisor. The quality of workmanship on the house is very high, and special mention to the tiler who did an amazing job. Slab down to handover took 5 months, and I think the house actually looks even better than the display! Constant communication, ease of amending/changing items, great builders' attention to detail Bit slow at contracts, but to be expectedSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Not Good
- From PPA to prestart took 4 months. My 6 star energy check took over 5 weeks, although I believe the delay was something else and they were just blaming this. It took at least 15 iterations to get my final plans drawn up. Every time they touched my plans they 'broke' them. Changes were made to areas that were not meant to be changed. When I asked them to check with me before making changes, they said yes, but didn't. When I asked them to go back to the previous version of plans, they couldn't find them! When I wanted to move the house to zero...Read more
lot, I was told that 'you can just do that at prestart' - as if! When I finally got on site, the brickies HAD THE WRONG PLANS!. - Worse than all this though, I signed a variation at the same time that I signed the contract. This variation was sent to my bank but IT HAD BEEN AMENDED WITH LIQUIDPAPER AND BIRO! No one had told me. No one asked me to sign a new variation, or even initial the old one. I believe this is illegal and defeats the whole purpose of signing contracts. No one would give me a proper answer as to why it happened and no one from management spoke to me to explain, despite me asking for them to. - My oven was changed for a different model to the one stated in the addenda. No one told me. No variation was raised. - The actual build took around five months and went reasonably smoothly, with only a few hiccups that can be expected. The construction seems pretty good quality, although the plaster set is a bit sloppy in places. - I raised these issues over two weeks ago in the first customer survey I was asked to complete. Easystart recommended that I state my feelings on this particular website. I waited two weeks for them to respond but have heard nothing to date, so now I'm putting them up on a public website. I couldn't recommend them, particularly to first time builders who don't have experience in how the building process works. Construction was reasonably good Everytime it went to the office it was a nightmare. Amending signed contracts!!!!!! How can you trust thatSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Exceeded expectations!!
Still early days with this builder but so far the experience has exceeded my expectations. The last home I built was more than 20 years ago so I am more or less new to the whole building scene. I spent 3 months researching homes for sale and then another 3 months researching building options before deciding on Easystart. From our first meeting the representative has been great and refreshingly honest, even leading me away from buying a block that he wold not build on himself!! Also, very impressed with the large range of selections that were in...Read more

Easy Start Homes? No I suggest: 'DIFFICULT START HOMES'
We signed our Preliminary contract 15 weeks ago and 'Difficult Start Homes' have still not finished our plans to include everything that we had agreed on prior to signing the preliminary contract.
We now find that after wasting so much of our time that the Consultant is now renegging on what he stated in writing BEFORE we signed up.
We also find that the plan we signed up for could not be built as it was shown on the plan (needed to have additional Evaes at the front and a portion of one of the front room size would need to be sacrificed), We...Read more

Next month will be one year since we signed up to build with the Summit homes 'Easy Start' Home Company and what a bloody Joke it has been thus far, we are only building a small single storey home on ... Read more
a small 10m wide block (nothing too difficult one would think!!), two weeks ago we paid the brick work progress payment and when over seas for a short holiday, we came back and found that they had knocked down 4 courses of the brickwork wall along a stretch of around 10m on the boundary that we had already paid for (was 32c now 28c but only on the left hand side of the house !!!, Supervisor told us that there was a mistake on the final plans and that this was the only way that the roof structure that they had erected could correctly line up with the boundary wall? I quickly rushed up to the block to see what the problem was and within 2 minutes I could see that the roof had been incorrectly formed/ constructed in the first place GGRRrrrrrr !!! I cannot believe that they tried to correct a mistake by making ANOTHER mistake and demolishing half of the very expensive long boundary kitchen wall, was yesteray that they will 'make things right' by building the external wall back up to 32c but the internal wall would be finished off with a bloody STUD wall GGRrrrrrrr!!! Today I am now told that both the external AND the internal wall will be re-instated to its correctly designed height and the INCORRECTLY formed roof structure will re done as per plan to suit this brick build up thus wasting even MORE time on my Job, I am pay nearly $1,500 per month in mortgage payments now (Land and progress payments to date) God know when these 'Fools' are going to complete the work, God know what quality of 'end' construction we will have (its all very well saying theres a 25 year structural warranty but what the *uck should be have to put up with a potential 'Time Bomb' in the first place??? I have been told that the same 'Trades' that work on Easy Start home (Difficult Start homes as i prefer to call them) also work on the parent Company Summit homes, what a joke, is that supposed to give us some sort of confidence in the Quality of the build?? I will also copy this update to the Easy Start Home review (A la Difficult start Home review) just to 'Warn' others who are thinking of building with either Company and will post further updates later.Similar opinion? 06.02.12 Jeff here again with an update on our building project with 'Difficult Start Homes', I Pad was finally laid 2 weeks before Christmas (12/12/13), we went up to out block the evening before the... Read more
Pad was laid to check the Sand Pad compaction Prior to concrete footing or the slab being poured as sheduled the following morning. We notced that they ha dug the footing for the front right portico freature wall Pier in the wrong position!! we had to dig the footing out ourselves with a piece of sheet metal off cut found on the adjoining Building site and fill the original hole dug by the builders just so that we would have the footing poured in the right place save delaying the building process even more if they had to come back. No more work was done on our block after the slab was poured until Friday 31st January 2014 (they put just one Brick layer on the Job, no one turned up to do any more work on the Monday following (Supervisor said the reason why the Bricklayerhad not turned up was becuase it was 'Windy' and the brick wall they build may have been 'Blown Down"!), thing is the house next door did not even have their Pad down before our and now the brick work is all complete and the roof is going on, so Bloody frustration considering how many months we have taken to get to this stage, needless to say we are NOT impressed, another couple of months or so and it will have been 1 year since we signed contracts, we are only building a small single level home (not a two storey Mansion), at this rate we should be finished February 2015 !!!!
