Does what its designed to do- really well
Replaced our previous electrolux oven, which was ok, . This one is Much better . Seems to get hotter at same temp settings, which in turn seems to cook better . Makes us think the other ( ex store display) was a dud.. First roast pork had better crackling than any previous attempts.
Stays cleaner for longer, But as yet not needed the pyro clean cycle. The previous oven had catalytic cleaning system, absolute rubbish, and made normal cleaning more difficult. (read - hard and time consuming.)The pyro clean was a big selling point, if its as g...Read more

Best thing I have purchased in a long time.
I was in desperate need of a new oven to replace my old gas one. I also decided that if there was one that would clean itself then that was for me even though they are electric ovens which I had never used. Consulted a recent Choice magazine and they said this one was the best in their opinion so that was good enough for me.
Well what a great choice it was. So many settings, cooks really well, cleans perfectly and was also a really good price compared to pretty much all of the other pyrolytic ones on the market.
The only thing that lets it do...Read more

Much better than our old oven
We bought two of these because two single ovens were cheaper than a double pyrolytic oven. We mounted them one above the other, and then switched off the clock on the bottom oven. The clock keeps it time during short power outages, but the "clock off" setting is forgotten and we end up with two clock displays...
Our older oven that we replaced used to burn food at the back and be raw at the front. These ovens are a major improvement - it cooks food evenly and is easy to use. I like having a choice of timer or auto-turn-off.
We have only needed...Read more

Works well, pyrolytic clean could be better
Oven works well and has great functions which are easy to use, which means I can leave instructions for the family to get things started and so far all has gone well. The food always cooks well and to time. I like the auto turn on and shut off - I often set to pre heat oven for when I am on the way home, but for safety I also set the turn off time for an hour later just in case I don't get home when I planned. I find the telescopic racks are not that useful as they are the top and bottom shelf which are my least used - would be great on the se...Read more
cond shelf from bottom, particularly for heavy roasting pan to make it easy to get out. The non telescopic shelves need two hands and a firm shove to get into position. I have used the pyrolytic function only once and it seems to work well, although the oven wasn't that dirty. In retrospect, although I love this oven I would definitely look at buying a pyrolytic oven that you could leave all the racks and side rails in during the process, as I hate having to still scrub all the racks (would be well worth the extra$)Similar opinion? Not so great oven
this oven, like my previous Electrolux oven, is a dud. The pyro function does not work. It causes the oven to shut off and over heat itself and everything surrounding it. This thing has got to be a fire hazard.
The oven worked well before I used the pyro feature but now I think the termostat may be damaged so the temperatures are never right.
I’ve been waiting nearly 2 months for Electrolux to respond to my email about this issue but seeing as this is the second oven to have this same problem, my hopes aren’t high!!

Great oven!
We bought the Electrolux EVEP616SC oven in October when our old oven died suddenly. We spent a while looking and decided this one had all the features we were looking for... the pyrolytic cleaning feature being one of the main ones! The touchscreen display is easy to use and we love the telescopic arms which means no more reaching into the oven to pull hot trays out.
The oven heats up quickly and cooks things well. We had great pork crackling on the first attempt and everything I've baked so far has turned out well. There's even a temperature probe for roasting meat!
Overall, very happy with this oven and would recommend it to others.

Excellent
Great oven with an awesome range of settings. Heats up fast and the telescopic shelves and inbuilt trays make life easy. Have not tried the pyrolitic function yet, but am Looking forward to using it once my oven is needing a clean. my wife loves this oven and we use it all the time

My telescopic rails slide out them by themselves. When you push them in and close the door you can hear them slide forward onto the glass. Anyone else had this issue or a fix for this?

My wife thinks this oven is too small. She reckons you can't fit a family size roast on one tray and have another roasting tray above it. Is she right or wrong?
1 answer
It is a tight fit with the way the shelves are positioned but you should be able to do it by using the roasting tray shelf that comes with the oven.

Is this a self-cleaning oven that works?

Haven't used the self cleaning facility as yet but I am quite positive it will work.
I just used the pyrolytic function for the first time, oven was pretty clean but the reminder came up to tell me to do it. I think the oven has shut down half way through. The whole thing is too hot to touch.
