Washing Machines Buying Guide
Our buying guide will explain which type of washing machine would suit you most, how much you can expect to pay for one, and which features are worth looking out for.
Very happy with my new washing machine
I purchased the Electrolux 9kg front load washing machine - model EWF9043BDWA, 2 weeks ago for $806 and it was delivered last weekend. While only a single person household, I wash A LOT. While some of the cycle options are long I believe this is common in many of the modern models. I mainly use the 60 minute daily, bedding (1.41 hours) or sports cycle (1.31 hours). The spin RPM is better than my old 10 year old machine so it feels like the clothes are almost dry when I hang them out. I haven't tried the pause, delay start or drum light yet due ...Read more
to laziness in having to read the manual. The machine is very easy to use and very quiet (especially compared to the spin cycle in my old machine). The door is large making it easy to fill and remove clothes. The depth is a bit bigger than other similar capacity machines so make sure it will fit if you have limited space. Selling points for me over other machines were: ( I considered Bosch and Fisher and Paykel) - both water and energy efficiency rated highly - it has a vapour option so I can "refresh" my jeans between washes - of the three machines I considered it was the only one that had a rinse and drain option - the price. I am aware Electrolux doesn't rate as highly as other brands but this machine has the features I was looking for so I am willing to see how it goes. It is very early days but so far I am very happy with my purchase.Purchased in November 2021 at Appliances Online for $806.00.

About to return
4 weeks after purchase. Flooded laundry, wet clothes, machine that won't drain, timer that stops on any given minute for over 4minutes. Zero problems until today. 6 adults in home, so used every day, so no error with setup. Filters clear. Water fine.. dial freezes on occasion when wanting to choose cycle. NOT IMPRESSED YET. Spin cycle not as good on anything other than 60min wash, cycle length too long on others.
Purchased in September 2021 at The Good Guys for $895.00.

Good but can be difficult to understand.
The RRP for this machine was about $1400 before it was discontinued. We got it for $799. Obviously, it was intended to compete with Miele. Overall, up to this (2 months) point, it has been a good machine. It washes well with a big 9kg drum, it is super quiet and seems to balance well in the spin cycle. It has a good range of cycles and it has a low energy consumption rating. It has lots of options for washes and can seem a bit complicated, so grandma might struggle. There is also a feature where you can take a photo of a number on the machine a...Read more
nd send an SMS to register for warranty but after many failed attempts, l concluded this has not been set up, so you will have to do it manually. We were guided towards this one by the salesman and so far, are happy with the choice. Time will tell but will update this review further down the track.Purchased in June 2021 for $799.00.

I have just bought my first Electrolux washer dryer combo model EWW9043ADWA the booklet seems very difficult to understand and when I do a wash dry cycle the clothes are still wet so we tried dryer only but after about 2.2 hours clothes are still damp. Any ideas? Can you just do a dry only cycle?

Is there a hand wash option or is there a setting that would work for hand wash items such as stuffed toys, bathers and very delicate tops?
