Our buying guide will explain which type of vacuum cleaner would suit you most, how much you can expect to pay for one, and which features are worth looking out for.
Very happy with the power
What a great little hand held vacuum, battery seems to last long time between charges. Sunction is much better than I expected, all I was after was decent sunction to pick up dog hair and small pebbleish dirt and it does that very easily. Fantastic colour. Charger cradle is also wall mountable so that is a great option.
Very happy.

Very good handheld vac
I bought this to replace a very poor Breville vac and have found it to be an good product overall, its main selling point being an 18V Li-ion battery providing strong suction. I didn't have any problems picking up dirt, grass and small stones from my car interior.
Battery running time is reasonable and I got just over 15 minutes use of it on maximum power. There seem to be two power levels, controlled with a slightly confusing rocker switch. When the power is off, pressing either "+" or "-" on the switch turns the vacuum on high power. When ...Read more
the vacuum is running, pressing "+" toggles between high and low power. Pressing "-" turns the power off. It's not a very intuitive arrangement, but at least you don't have to hold down a "Max" or "Boost" button as on some other vacuums. The Electrolux site claims a 35 minute running time, but that must be on the low power setting, which frankly isn't very useful; better to think of it as having a 15 minute running time. A three-bar battery indicator shows the remaining charge and also lights up during recharging. The charging stand holds the vacuum vertically, either free-standing or wall-mounted. There are two small wheels at the front that supposedly make the vacuum easier to handle, but they're really more of a hindrance if you need to move the vacuum from side to side, say while cleaning the car. Moreover, they introduce a gap between the outlet and the surface you're vacuuming, which reduces suction. The instructions include steps on removing the wheels for cleaning, so I suppose one could just leave them off if they become a nuisance. Two attachments are supplied: a crevice tool and a small brush. They clip into the charging stand, but unfortunately not into the handle of the vacuum itself, unlike on one of the lower-powered models (the 12V one, I think), which would be handier. The tools leave something to be desired though: the crevice tool is not very long and would be more useful if it were a few inches longer. The brush is *extremely* hard to remove once inserted; this is a very bad design. A flap on the front opens to reveal a hole that you can use to suck out the dust from this handheld using the hose of a mains-powered vacuum. This is a great idea in theory, but I find that if you use this vacuum to pick up hair, the hole will soon become too clogged to be used in this manner. The normal way to empty the vacuum is to press the release button and separate the dust container from the motor. I suspect that over time, this will be a weak point of the vacuum; I saw demo units in two shops where the two halves no longer clipped together securely. This seems like another design flaw.

Excellent portable vacuum cleaner
I bought my ZB4112 in August last year, so have had it for just over a year. It is certainly a very competent performer, with a powerful suction, and a “max” button for extra suction power – which as mentioned in another review, can be a little tiring to hold down. I find that I only need that extra power when removing cat fur from fabric surfaces, with the little brush attachment.
It’s quite heavy, but feels solid and well built. It’s easy to clean. With the nozzle attachment I am able to clean in tight corners quite easily - in fact I ...Read more
mainly use it with the nozzle attached. The battery lasts and lasts, and I’ve not had it go flat on me in mid-use, in the year that I’ve had it. All in all, I am very happy with it. Powerful suction, reliable With the charging base wall-mounted, the battery contacts don't always make contact - sometimes have to move it around to get the blue light to come onSimilar opinion? Great vacuum
I've never had a 'dust buster' type cleaner before, but since we bought a robot vacuum, we needed something to do the car, shelves, flyscreens etc so I opted for this based on the reviews on this site. I didn't really know what to expect and convinced myself that I didn't need to spend the extra money on the 18v version. I was right. For what we need it for (read not a regularly used cleaner) its perfect! It passed the car's floormats test pretty easily. The wheels are great and saves scratches.
It seems very powerful, but I have no basis fo...Read more
r this comparison as I've never had one before. Powerful, compact, feels sturdy and solid, easy to empty Need to hold the 'max' button down which can be tiring considering it's a weighty little fella. Could do with a longer attachment, the two provided are very short. Cleaning tight spaces (beside car seats etc) is a bit tricky.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Beware: Battery fails, no support
The Electrolux ElectoRapido stick vacuum cleaner worked really well, until after 2 years and the battery failed.
Normally, when you put the Rapido on its base station charger, a bright blue light illuminates on the front of the vacuum cleaner, to indicate that it is charging. One day, the blue light would come on for 5 seconds, then fade off again. The vacuum cleaner would fail to charge. That was it. It was dead after 2 years of use.

e Firefox, Chrome or Safari. I assume it only works with the dinosaur Internet Explorer browser. When the batteries inside the unit fail, Electrolux doesn't support a replacement. It's possible that there are batteries from third-party providers, but you would have to be skilled using a soldering iron to replace them. I'm not sure that any other brand of stick vacuum cleaner is any better. I don't know if any have easily replaceable batteries. But this turns me off Electrolux products, and makes me cautious about getting any other stick vacuum cleaner. It sucks. It actually sucks reasonably well. Battery failed. Can't easily be replaced.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Wonderful!
The rechargeable battery died on my old hand held vacuum cleaner and this replacement is massively better. The power lasts and lasts ( switch it off regularly to save on stand by power) and the boost button really helps with pet hair. Easy to empty and upright stand much better than previous flat one which took up too much space.
Battery life
Would be better with power switch rather 5than boost button you need to continue holding down.

Just love it !!
probably the best vaccum cleaner I've bought so far and it's good in everything - the look, the design, easy to use, easy to empty 'waste bin', long running time, light-weighed, noise acceptable, price ok .... and I esp love the appearance very much !!
Nearly everything

Fantastic product
A fantastic handheld vacuum cleaner that has strong suction. Light enough for the kids to grab and clean up their mess. Long charge held. The sleek design makes it fit nicely in a corner without it being in the way. The wheels on the tip let's it glide instead of scratching the floor.
Great suction for a good price

Can I get the outer filter for this model in New Zealand?

Hi. I just got a replacement filter through eBay so you can get one from anywhere. I think it came from China. Cost was reasonable. Make sure you have the model number because there are a few different type of filter. Good luck
