Piece of junk
I have bought 3 Electrolux vacuum cleaners and the quality has dropped and dropped, with the latest one the handle has snapped, the aluminium extension won't stay extended and breaks, also they used to have additional tools on board,. As you can guess i will never purchase one again . Do yourself a favour and buy a german vacuum cleaner, i wont say the brand but better all round
Purchased in May 2021.

Very very unhappy
From new this vacuum had a high pitched scream when hose extended+only ran for 5 mins before switching off. Emailed electrolux numerous time but no replies. Rang+they sent a new handle. Didn't help. Sent to Electrolux and 3 weeks later got it back saying it was fixed. Have used it once but still has squeaky sound when hose is extended. The plastic buttons holding the handle and pipes on are very hard to work and it takes me ages to change attachments. Very very upset with this machine. Would never ever buy another electrolux again!!

Excellent Vacuum!
I think this is a great vacuum. It is very quiet for the power, so I am happy with it. It picks up everything from our carpet which is quite thick and our old vacuum struggled. It has a setting for tiles/carpet which is great, it is easy to switch from kitchen to living room cleaning!

Great vacuum!
Very happy with the performance and suction. Vacuum is easy to use and comes with a multitude of accessories, very useful. Design is pleasing, haven't had an issue with the suction. Definitely not "silent" but not as loud as many other vacuums. Vacuum is light and easy to maneuver. I mostly vacuum curtains, carpet and wood floors with this vacuum. Replacement bags are easy to work and inexpensive to purchase.

Not a bad vacuum
Not a bad vacuum, sucks well when it has a new bag in it. Really sticks to the floor. The bonus turbo head we got with it is useless. The only down side it the foot wheel didn't last very long and I'm not paying $80 for another. Will more then likely buy another but would ask for 2 foot tools.

Good vacuum cleaner
This Electrolux vacuum cleaner is good enough. It’s not so heavy, so easy to manoeuvre around the home. The vacuum cleaner is great for all types of flooring. But it’s a bit loud, so I can’t vacuum in the mornings or the evenings because my neighbours will not be happy.

This is perfect, I can't live without it.
Extremely satisfied with the suction on this product, making performing tasks a bliss.
It is not extremely light but not excessively heavy neither I'd say it would be fit to its structure description, it would be what you would expect of this beauty. Brilliant disguised with minimal noise, you can vacuum any hour of the day and not wake or annoy other household members. Very easy to manoeuvre around the home, wheels are rubber supported and well lubricated making twist and turns breezy and not ruining or marking the floors.

The handle extends to full length & when tucked away it slides inside the pole making it shorter & easier ro store. Has different speed settings which is very handing when being a mum of boy's. This is a dudd not a Vacuum Cleaner
Over 12 Months it was great. After 12 Months the motor slowed up and the fast switch stopped working. Called Electrolux they told me it was out of warranty and that I could take it to an authorised shop to have it fixed.
This machine is a dudd. It lasted one week and we now have the same problem
Any other Vacuum Cleaner would be a better option than this

1.8 years and dead with noisy motor
Our ultrasilencer ZUS4065OR became ultra noisy with what sounded like (and turned out to be) a failed motor bearing. Took it back to Godfreys who sent it back to electrolux for a warranty repair. They declined saying, quote: "This contamination is an indication that the unit has either been used with an incorrectly fitted pre motor filter or without a pre motor filter. Also, this contamination have caused the motor bearings to become noisy."
We never touched the motor filter in its entire 1.8 years. Maybe we should have? But the manual...Read more
http://www.electrolux.co.nz/Support/Manuals/?modeld=ZUS4065OR says "change when dirty or after every 5th bag." The vacuum had just had it's 5th bag put in and the motor filter didn't look particularly dirty. The filter doesn't look super fine like the HEPA filter so not surprising that it lets stuff through? But I'm no expert. The repair cost quoted was $337, 85% of the original cost of the vacuum. Which we will be investing in a new vacuum. From a brand that is not Electrolux. And if you want a free vacuum and have some good earmuffs, give me a bell. As an aside, Godfreys had to be chased for five weeks about the repair, only for me to find out later that they had received an email from Electrolux within the first week (28 days ago). So very poor follow up from Godfreys.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

This vacuum is crap!!!! Do not buy.
Heavy, I have owned two now Coz the first one fell apart and now the second one is doing the same all within a month. Left wheel has fallen off both, cord gets stuck half way on both, both have suction leaks in the hose where it connects to the metal part.

Good machine except for plastic head parts
I bought an Electrolux because my mother had one for years, the good old hardy metal components lasted a life time. Unfortunately with my Ultra Silencer the floor head cracked and broke away from the neck, so I had to buy a new one for $125, as its not covered under warranty. The handle at the top also snapped and cost $40 to replace. I have just had the second floor nozzle crack and break off the floor head. So frustrating, nothing is made to last these days, we spend all our life working to pay for appliances that we're told are doing well i...Read more
f they last 5 years! Only to then throw them all out into the dump and pollute the earth with more human waste!!!! Hate this modern age crap, just had to throw the washing machine and a friggin fridge out too! Think I should move to the bush, go on the dole and use a broom to sweep the floor, wash my clothes in the river and become a vegetarian.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Hi we currently have an Electrolux ergospace deluxe which is at the end of its life. We are looking at the Electrolux Ultra Silcener Origin. Does it use the same vacuum bags as the ergospace?

Hi we recently purchased the Ultrasilencer at the Queenstown Home Show. Great suction but even on just "medium" it is extremely hard to push around. Three of us have had a turn over last few weeks and have come to the conclusion that all may not be quite right. Also rolls any pet hair etc into long rats-tails and leaves them on the floor and doesn't suck these up very well as the foot keeps rolling them around. Any suggestions or does this not sound as though it is operating correctly?

Hi Christine
We bought a special head to cope with pet hair (we have cats) and while this does help with the pick up of hair, it is not 100% reliable - needs several goes before it picks up sometimes. The fullness of the bag can also be a factor. As for being hard to push around - I'd say take it back and get it looked at. My impression is that Electrolux is not what it used to be: they are using cheap parts and manufacture is in countries where there is a low standard of quality control.
Good luck!
BM
Try these ideas to make the vacuum cleaner easier to push around (If yours is a different model to mine, these details may not make sense but might lead you to finding a solution): 1. open the hole on the front of the handle. 2. Turn the vacuum's suction down. When the bag is new and near empty, the suction is really strong. 3. Instead of pushing the head away from you, pull it towards you. I don't have pets but I had that problem with my own hair with my previous Electrolux which didn't have as much suction as my newer one. Despite that, I wish I could have the older one back. Its good tools made for a much better and more thorough clean than can be achieved with the newer one. The wheels on the newer one are also too small which means it can't even run over its own power cord, and bottoms out on plush carpet. Like me, you may have to persevere until you can justify buying another brand.
Yes, I have a similar issue with hair (both the pet and the human variety), bits of grass etc. getting stuck together and forming big clumps, except in my case they don't usually stay on the floor - they get stuck in the front bit of the vacuum cleaner and I have to dig them out as they will eventually cause a total loss of suction. No advice, sorry - just wanted to let you know that you are not alone with this problem. I agree with BM - Electrolux doesn't seem as good as it used to be.
