Vacuum Cleaners Buying Guide
Our buying guide will explain which type of vacuum cleaner would suit you most, how much you can expect to pay for one, and which features are worth looking out for.
5 stars.
This vacuum cleaner really sucks.
For such a quiet unit you wouldn't think that it'd suck so hard, but suck hard it does. It does a lot of sucking, even pet hair that accumulates on the carpets. It's also nice and quiet so while it sucks hard it doesn't disrupt my two cats. One of them even plays with it while it does all the hard sucking.
Verdict: this little sucker knows how to suck and it doesn't make a lot of loud noise that sucks for everyone in the house.

11 years and counting
Had this vacuum for 8 years now and very pleased with it, changed the HEPA filter for the first time last year as it was very dark and does not look cleaner when washed.
Recommend you do not vacuum with the duster unit attached as mine cracked inside the vacuum wand with little force, had to replace it as Electrolux wanted me to send it to a repair centre for assessment when under w/tee.
Never bothered as it was too much fuss just purchased a new one.
Would always buy Electrolux for Vacuums as our family has done for some 50 years.

I lood forward to vacuuming now
I had very specific requirements: True HEPA Filter, small size, bag &, smooth wheels.
True HEPA : this filter is included - some other vacuums have HEPA like filters - they do not trap the minute particles .3microns
Size: had to fit into the small linen cupboard. Very compact & lightweight too with huge handle
Bag. Those barrel vacuums leave a plume of dust as you tip into the bin - this bag does not fill up quickly (I only have floorboards) & is very easy to remove & replace
Smooth wheels: the silcencer has large wheels & literally glide...Read more
s over all joins into bathrooms etc. And the smooth edges go around corners really easily! I was fed up with inter-changing the 3 attachments contained under the lid of my old vacuum, this is a single 3-in-1 attachment easily accessible on the wand. And I can talk on the phone & still vacuum - it really is that quiet!! thank goodness my old vacuum died or I might never have discovered the Ultra Silencer. Go get one.

Excellent
I originally purchased the Electrolux Accellerator (PLEASE DON'T). It was a regretful purchase. Bag machines are much easier in the end and this models overall build and quality far exceeds the accelerator which surprised me considering both come from Electrolux. You will love this vacuum - I'm happy with the final outcome after the initial issues with a bagless.
It is quiet! Great quality, especially fixtures. Good suction which continues throughout life of bag not just at bag change. Extra long cord, I can leave it plugged in centrally and do the entire house. Also comes with a quality attachment brush which is A1 for the car.

Excellent
This has been an awesome vacuum and is still going strong after 5 years (apart from the retract button). It does a massive house with ease and switches from carpets to hard floors quickly. I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a small, quiet, lightweight vacuum that still does the hard yards.
This is a small, light weight, very easy to use machine. It has great suction even when the bag is full (when the bag is empty, I have to turn the suction down!). Comes with useful attachments and the main vacuum head switches from carpet to ...Read more

Hi - do the bags need replacing or are they the type that can be emptied?
