Hi, I'm wondering how often I need to change the filter for my UltraFlex. Do i need to purchase a new starter kit every so often? Or is regular cleaning sufficient. Cheers

Regular washing and cleaning of all the filters should be enough, especially the filter at the front. I replaced the HEPA filter after 2 years.

I have an Ultraflex, and when we bring the power level up to 4 or 5 with the power brush head on the power brush head pulses a few times and then the whole machine shuts off. It sounds as though it is not getting enough power to run the vac at full power with the power brush head running at the same time.

Hi guys, I bought my Electrolux ultraflex Animal January 2022, it has been working well until today when it has completely lost suction. I can say it has stopped working. bearing in mind that the filters are cleansed, however I never changed any of them so far. I am very frustrated as I was promised it will last longer. what should i do. it is still in the Warranty.

I bought this vacuum April 2015. It has been great until last weekend when the engine started making an awful sound and letting off an awful smell. I'm thinking the engine will need replacing. I'm not happy about throwing away a vacuum cleaner only 4 years old. What do you recommend?

Maybe get it maintained by a professional who fixes vacuum motors? Has the warranty expired?

Change your filters, I clean my filter at the back with a little soapy water and let it dry completely before you use it again. Also you can get replacement filters at Good Guys or Godfreys. Servicing your Vacuum at least once a year would be recommended they do get used a lot, it's like a car, if you service your car, you service your vacuum cleaner as well.

The awful smell would indicate a burn of the motor. I'd find out from Electrolux if they have recommended repairers in your area and get in touch to see how much it would cost to replace the motor. Otherwise you may be better off with a new replacement.

Got the same problem. The brush has stopped rotating properly.

Jamie,
I still have not got an answer for this. I use a pair of scissors to cut of what I can.

But when my brush was not rotating properly, it turned out to be that the filters were hopelessly clogged. I had to take out both and wash them.

Electrolux UltraFlex EUF8ANIMAL Review
This review is intended to relay my personal attitude of this appliance. It in no way is intended to sway other users; either current owners or prospective buyers. It is however intended to describe the strongest point and the weakest, or lamest point of this appliance; nothing more, nothing less.
The only positive I can give, it has good suction.
The best description of its one major flaw which will be evident shortly; is if it was not for the good suction I would have to say this appliance sucks.
Whoever designed the handle and relevant attachment of hose obviously does not understand the physics of how the hose interacts with the handle and the subsequent problems associated with this.
Crowded locations of furniture and the problems that this presents regarding this over designed handle and hose connection is a very strong design flaw.
Vacuum cleaners I have used in the past do not seem to have such an obtrusive handle to hose connection. This causes me to wonder if the design engineers at Electrolux ever bothered to take this machine for test run in real life situations where for example you need to vacuum under a bed or sofa that is located very close to other furniture or walls.
Another item that infuriates is the machines inability to roll over its own power cord when that power cord gets in the way.
The flexible hose at times refuses to unravel but attempts to remain in a coiled position which causes a major lack of mobility and flexibility regarding how easily the hose and the connected extension tube with cleaning head can be manipulated.
Another item of much frustration is Electrolux’s creation of this machine with proprietary hose connections such that other hoses and cleaning heads from other manufacturers cannot be used with this machine.
In short, I would not recommend this machine to anyone even though it has good suction. What good is a machine that is not very good at manipulation of its cleaning attachments and the hose that connects them if all it does is suck and that is its only positive attribute?

I've removed and washed the inner filter pad (thin white layer on one side and thick black foam on the other side). Which way does it go back in? I can't find my instruction manual.

The black side goes in first. i.e. when reassembled the black side faces towards the front of the machine where the hose attaches.

You might have something wedged in it somewhere, take the attachments off, hold it up to the light and look inside the shaft, if there is something there, grab a broom stick and try and get whatever is stuck in there out.

It could be the switch, but it could also just be a faulty plug. Ours turned out to be the plug - which is a much easier fix. If you don't know what you're doing take it to an electrician, (Don't pay for them to come to you) - it will literally take less than 5 minutes.
But if it is the switch that is a much more complex problem - sorry.

The suction on the vacuum has dropped to considerably low. Number is at max of 5 - and no blockages what so-ever. Any ideas?
