Not suited to our situation
Ellerfield charges us a fairly hefty upfront fee for their service on the basis that they did not take commissions, and that this freed them from being tied to predefined investment options. They then pushed what seemed in hindsight to be a predefined investment strategy from which they took a commission. They made mistakes on 100% of the investments that they administered on our behalf, which cost me a lot of time to chase up and rectify.

I was quick enough to withdraw before we lost any significant money, but upon analysis I believe that if we'd continued to follow their advice, we would not have many assets left by now I would not say that they are dishonest, but they were certainly not what we needed nor what they presented themselves to be. Generally friendly, seemed knowledgable Bad advice; Multiple fees, commissions and kickbacks that are not obvious and not disclosed.

Where on our way...
We've been with Ellerfields for almost 3 years and have appreciated their holistic approach to planning our future. As a couple in our early 30's starting a family, all of their advice has helped us set a foundation and given us a clear idea of what our future could look like. Their conservative planning has set achievable goals, that are realistic and allow us a balance between short and long term needs.

Great service and results
Ellerfield are great. They have sorted out our Insurance, Super, Mortgage, and also review us every 4 months about our budget, goals, investment performance etc. We love the fact they contact us regularly and keep us up to date. Also like the online software and website - and Facebook account gives us free tips and we can communicate with them between our meetings. Now our mortgage is coming down fast using their strategy and our retirement planning is on track. Also like the fact they have been around for more than 20 years.

Excellent financial planning company
We recently used Ellerfield and were recommended to use them by our accountant. We were a bit hesitant but after our first meeting we knew this company knew what it was doing. They have been around for ages. We needed advice on how to reduce our mortgage and they put together a plan together with their online service - its pretty good. We have already paid off more of our mortgage than we thought possible using their tracking service. Very happy.
