Electrical nightmare
I have sought help from Elstar Sydney now on 7 occasions over 3 years trying to fix the same electrical problem. I have replaced every component along the harness with no result. This 250 Tank quad turns over very slowly doesn't and start. This has been a regretful purchase.
Purchased in October 2021 at Elstar Sydney for $1,400.00.

250cc
I love my 250cc so far. It spends it's life on sandy roads/tracks and on the beach and loves it. I tend to keep it out of sea water and I dosed it in fish oil when purchased 2 years ago. I would love to grab another one some day.

soon as u get it change your air filter!
It came in a box was packed ok with steel frame crate to protect the quad, was mostly assembled only had to put on the wheels and handle bars, anyway I have now owned it for 4 months and use it daily, the quad its self seems good has good power but the air filter is terrible it has a paper filter that allows dirt to flow directly through it as the quads rear wheels throw off a lot of dust when riding, don't try and oil it, it will only fall apart on you, do your self and the engine a favour and get a foam one for it as continued use of the orig...Read more
inal will surely kill your engine over time, other than this the quad good so far, it takes steep hill's okay has good pulling power, and nothing has broken yet, and I have given it to it here and there and it takes it, good bang for your buck, more than I expected from a Chinese quad bike for sure. UPDATE 26/04/2020 Clutch gave out today while riding up a steep hill moving firewood, it was giving me warnings it was on its way, have done a lot with this quad over the last 2 years its been a workhorse, i have beaten it and it took it, pulled tons of firewood up steep over the 2 years, sprayed weeds and Ratstails with a 60L weed sprayer every summer, took it pretty well, I use this quad at least 2 times a week to 4 times a week for work and to get me around my property, i kept it serviced, the engine still runs strong and starts first go, but now for the bad parts, in the pic below, the parts in the red cracked and needed welding up a few times, ended up having to add steel plates on the under side to reinforce it, also the chain Tensioner Idler under load ends up letting your chain jump off the rear sprocket and destroy the rear sprocket bolts (pics below replacing bolts and sprocket and a crack repair ) so in the end i had to relocate the chain tensioner idler and weld it closer to the rear sprocket, and haven't had an issue since, but other than those few issues it runs good and did the job, now i gotta replace a clutch, if I didn't ride it hard I think the clutch would of lasted much longer, would I buy another one after owning one? well that depends on my budget, you can get a good second hand Japanese quad for $3000 if you look long enough, after owning it this long there has been times when I needed more power, like towing power, I would like to be able to pull around my small box trailer, this could do it but it didn't like it, and it would be much better to have independent rear suspension, if I were to buy another quad bike, I would try getting a good second hand Japaneses quad bike. this quad still has life and runs strong and I will fix the clutch and continue to use it.Similar opinion? Good value for money
Great value for money and came mostly assembled. Have used on small farm for years without major problems. Towed a trailer most of the time. only thing currently wrong its rear pivot arm bearing has snapped so out of action. Has been a good workhorse over the years and would consider another one especially as they continually refine the issues.

Would this be suitable for carting sport equipment at little athletics?

depending on the weight of the the equipment you wish to carry, I use a small polly trailer I got from bunnings to pull full loads of fire wood up steep hills and it has done the job for almost 2 years now, also carry around a 60L weed sprayer in the summer and it handles that pretty well, but i once tried to pull a full size steel box trailer with it and it didn't like towing it, if you have a small trailer to suit it you should be fine.
Thanks Jack. We wouldn't be carrying too much weight. Just discus and shot puts. We just need it to drive around a flat oval. What sort of trailer did you buy. Good trailers can be hard to find!

I was wondering if this quad can be fitted with a tow ball on the front?
2 answers
Maybe if you have welding skills, but to be honest I don't know if the front frame would be strong enough, but that depends on what you want to tow with it, and if you do end up getting one just keep an eye on the chain and keep it nice and tight as I have had a good few problems with my one coming off on steep hills and in reversing, but other than that the quad is pretty good so far, hope this helps you out ;)
Cheers
