Louder than a diesel engine

published

Solid build, low consumption, good chilling capability, but it has a terrible low frequency vibration which resonates through the whole house and/or car. Brought back to the store/service department and was dismissed with the comment that this is how it should work.
Just made a comparison with a generic noname fridge (1/3 of the price of the Engel) and one can hardly hear the noise produced by the cheap fridge.
Quite disappointed, was hoping that paying the Engel "tax" would guarantee an exceptional experience.

Purchased in January 2021 at BCF Physical Store for $1,329.00.

why are the new engel fridges exceptionally loud?

mine was exceptionally loud with a low frequency vibration that was causing the car chassis to resonate (and even when used in the house the walls would resonate :-)
after failing to get it replaced or repaired and having no time and energy to proceed with ACCC and the small claims tribunal I just added additional rubber gaskets to the compressor and rubber padding to support the fridge.
the vibrations are manageable now, they are in the range of a fridge from the sixties :-)
