Hi, I recently purchased the adapt for my newborn girl - a friend recommended but I have found she is too small to fit. She is a healthy size - 3.4 pounds (only a week only) - I was given a newborn insert and was wondering if I can use this with the adapt till she is big enough to fit? I am not sure if I am adjusting it incorrectly I think I have tried basically everything. If there is a customer support email I could contact you guys on perhaps send a picture that would be great. Thanks so much!

Hi there,
I want to get ihe adapt for my daughter but she's a fuller figured lady and I'm wondering what the measurements of straps are, if it would fit larger men and women?
Many thanks

Hi Sarah, the waistband and shoulder straps on the Ergobaby Adapt are both quite adjustable. The waistband measures up to 140cm whilst the shoulder straps measure up to 120cms. The Adapt does allow comfortable wearing for a variety of body types. If you are close to one of our stockists my suggestion would be to go into store with your daughter and have her try one on. Our stockists will have sample carriers that you are able to try prior to purchase. If you would like the carrier to be a gift, or a surprise, then talk to your preferred store and double check what their return policy is. Most stores will accept a refund or return on products if you find it isn't suitable.

We fit hundreds of parents each year both in stores and at expos in lots of different shapes and sizes. It's very rare that we find a parent that we are unable to adjust the carrier to fit comfortably. I hope this helps and thankyou for choosing Ergobaby as a carrier choice for your daughter.

Hi I've had shoulder and wrist issues that are very slow to improve. Would the adapt or any baby carrier even be an option for me? Anything that results in pulling forward on my shoulders wouldn't work.

Hi Lydnsay, I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with your wrist and shoulder. I hope that this improves soon for you.

Ergobaby carriers are designed to provide superior ergonomic support. Our carriers are generally extremely comfortable to wear and you shouldn't feel any pressure, pulling or tension whilst using them. In a situation like yours where you do have a pre-exsisting issue with your shoulder, our best piece of advice would be to go into one of our retailers and try the carrier on with weight in it. The carrier should always feel comfortable and that is the key. Having a shoulder issue, you may feel it more through your shoulder once you have bub in the carrier but every one has their own comfort level so this will only be clear once you are able to try the carrier on. We fit a lot of parents with carriers who do have issues with their shoulders and backs in particular and the majority of the feedback we receive is that our carriers are still very comfortable to wear despite their injury/condition. In regards to pulling forward on your shoulders, this will tend to happen more so if you are carrying your bub in a forward facing position. When you put bub in a forward facing position, your centre of gravity changes and you would feel a pull through your shoulders. The Adapt carrier doesn't give you this option so you wouldn't be using the carrier in this position anyway which makes it a good choice for you. Additionally, you are able to wear the Adapt carrier with the shoulder straps crossed over which could also provide a higher level or more comfortable support for you.

In regards to your wrist issue, our Adapt carrier will be the perfect choice to use. The reason for this is that all the clips and buckles on this carrier are able to be done up in the front of your body which negates the need for you to reach behind to adjust the carrier or clip it on and off. This will reduce the need for you to twist your wrist or put it in a compromising position. The Adapt carrier gives you the bonus of being able to use the shoulder straps in a cross over position which is extremely easy and would suit anyone who has issues such as yours or with their reach in general.

I hope this answers your question. We wish the best of luck with your decision and hope that Ergobaby is the right choice for you.

Hi Rachel, Thankyou for considering Ergobaby as an option for you and your baby. The Ergobaby Adapt is the newest addition to our range and no, it isn't a forward facing carrier. One of the main features of the Adapt carrier is that it has been designed in such a way that you don't need to add an infant insert to the carrier when using with a newborn. An innovative and clever design ensures that your baby is supported correctly at newborn stage through adjusting the carrier accordingly. It really is a fantastic design that parents are loving!
The carriers in our range that you are able to forward face with are the Ergobaby 360's. These are available in both a cotton fabric in a range of colours or a cool mesh fabric which is great for the summer months. The 360 is the most popular carrier in our range as you are able to face baby forward from 5 months of age. You will need to use an infant insert with the 360 carrier from newborn up until approximately 4 months of age. This is the carrier range I would recommend if facing baby forwards is important to you.
I hope this helps with your decision on which carrier may be best for you.
