Not good from a electricians point of view
I live in a rental property and it was time for a new stove, I notified the landlord and he delivered this Euromaid EFF54W to the property. Being a licensed Electrician for over 40 years I offered to install it, I have never seen such poor design for cable connection it is a absolute disgrace. The terminal screws were overtightened at the factory and were damaged when loosened, the terminal box is way to small for 6mm cable, there is no way to secure a flexible conduit terminator, it is very poor design. ot tighten without stripping, my main concern was the use of self tapping screws for a earth connection, why not use a solid earth stud with nuts and washers. The old Chef stove that was removed had a far superior cable connection design, I will never install one of these again. As far as operation is concerned the solid hotplates are very slow to heat and respond to heat adjustment, I have not used the oven or grill as yet. The control panel should have been sloped at 45 degrees so you can actually see the symbols without bending down to view them, do the people who design these appliances actually use them. Sorry for the scathing review but it is what it is.

If they redesigned the actual terminal box to accept 6mm cable in flexible conduit so it could be secured with a conduit terminator this would go a long way to correcting most of the installation faul... Read more
ts. The solid hotplates are slow to hea.t and to respond to heat adjustment but I do realise that is the characteristic of this design of hotplate. Still not sure about the earth bond using self tapping screws, I actually secured it with oversize screws but will probably renew it with a stainless steel bolt washer and locknuts, the small self tappers would not tighten sufficiently. The 30 year old Chef stove that was replaced had a terminal box about three times the size and a solid earth stud with washers and locknuts, a 15min installation time against over 1 hour for the replacement. Not cheap
For the price it is a very small basic oven, the hot place rust very soon and we live no where near the ocean. Paid $500 for it and that was reduced from $800 which is ridiculous for the size of it. We use the cleaner specially designed for it.
