Lasted a few years then compressor burnt out no warranty will save you absolute pile of junk was told it has a danfoss compressor turns out it was an absolute lie it was just a made in China compressor paid near on $1000 dollars for this door stop . Contacted them and they wanted you to send it to them in qld with no garanteee they could fix it . Dodgy brothers, at the same time I bought a cooler ice box from evakool says will keep ice cool for ten days kid won't shut properly . Do your self a favour and avoid evakool products like you would sleeping with your sister

these fridges are absolute rubbish, would never cool anything down and when i took it in for warranty, it was leaking gas inside the fridge. would never buy any evakool fridges. The bloke at the shop that does the warranty said every IB70 that comes in is crap. Should have bought an Engel

Old ScrubberTownsville
One of the best products on the market
Have had my Evakool IB 70 for a couple of years now and bounced it over most roads in western QLD with out a problem could not ask for a better fridge freezer, Run it off the tug battery while traveling and the house battery when camped. Great unit, Australian made with a 5 year warranty and strong as a scrubber bull wouldn't buy any other brand and at under $1000 why would I . Met a couple with an evakool 210Lfridge in there van and they said it was the best purchase they ever made

Fantastic quality and works a treat.
Have had my EvaKool fridge for a couple of years now, and have been away a few times, sometimes working on 240v in a caravan park, or 12v down the beach. Has worked faultlessly the whole time. I always cool it down on 240v for a couple of days before we go away, to take the load off the battery. Big space for plenty of drinks and 7 or 8 days of meat and such, for the 2 of us, so can be self sufficient. Very happy with my purchase.

Dissapointed with poor workmanship and terrible warranty service - GLACIER G75-DX FRIDGE*FREEZER
I purchased the Glacier G75-DX which is 75 litre Dual zone similar to the EvaKool IB70. I purchased this over other brands like primus and Companion which are similar design and price because of the EvaKool brand name thinking I would get better service and quality... I was wrong! Firstly I purchased direct from EvaKool so there was no middle man to worry about. The Fridge showed up at my door, upon opening I noticed the panel over the compressor was bent and damaged, with paint cracked and peeling. Called Evakool and to there credit they did s...Read more
end a replacement cover, but after removing the old one I realised the problem was the actual holes didnt line up with the mounting points, this is why the original one was all bent out of shape so obviously they purposly bent it just to line up the holes! Very poor Quality control! I sent an email to Evakool about this and had no response. Second problem was the rubber seal around the door gets caught near the hinges and does not seal properly, this is obviously a design flaw which I thought I could repair using some spacers on the hinge. I emailed Evakool explaining the issue and asked for a replacement seal, they replied saying they could not source one, and no other solution for me. I called them up asking how they could not get any spare parts at all (i was willing to wait however long it took), eventually after some arguments they agreed to take a seal off another one they had in stock and mail it. I recieved the second one and it is permanently damaged in the same spot as the original one, near the hinge, so obviously they are all like this! Very poor design. I emailed them back about this issue weeks ago and they have not replied, obviously just hoping I will go away. Lastly the performance, I took it away camping for 4 days and had it positioned under a shelter out of the sun and connected to a fixed 240V connection. I had one side set to 1 degree C for the fridge and -18 degree C for the freezer. First day was fine, second day when the ambient temp got up to around 25 degrees the freezer compartment got up to -1 degree C, and the compressor was constantly running so obviously could not cope (probably due to the seal not sealing properly). There was lot of frost built up in the freezer which im assuming is due to it not sealing properly, so each night I took the food out and wiped off the frost, which managed to get the temp back to -12 over night, but each day it would get back up to around 0 degrees (causing my icecream to melt). I sent 2 emails to them telling them of the problems but never heard back. At this stage I would be looking for a refund but they would probably make me courier it back to QLD which will cost too much, and they wont even return my emails anyway. Very dissapointed with EvaKool, next time will go with a Waeco or Engel!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Eva kool ib 70 litre
only had it for 5 weeks, are running it at home through my ark pak using 130 amp deep cycle battery.
yes it is big, a lot bigger than I expected, I looked at the 65 litre cfx waeco fridge freezer and thought its only 5 litres bigger but compared to the waeco its a lot bigger, but there is heaps of room inside to keep a good variety of drinks and food in it.
I have the fridge section on -2 degrees and the drinks are icy cold, I have had the freezer section on -18 degrees just to test it out and was very good, goes to -19 degrees.its about 21 i...Read more

Happy trails
Excellent build quality, fit and finish. Runs quietly and efficiently using around 2amps/hour once cold. Do note, Its a BIG unit but the (48ltr) fridge side alone will hold 60 cans of beer and set on -2° has the beer just above freezing. The (22ltr) freezer side is very handy when compared to other units with silly little compartments. Two temp controls means you can set it as all freezer, all fridge or a combo fridge freezer at the press of a button.
Both sides have auto switching LED lights making night time use easy. Mine came with a wir...Read more
