I have since mastered it. I was using the wrong frother thing in the bottom. I now use the one with the “spring” around it and it is working fine. The froth just doesn’t stray frothy as long as cows milk

I found the best way was to throw it away and get a better frother

I took mine back. It frothed and heated OK the first time, after which it didn't froth or heat. I never had a problem with brown gunk, which I presume is burned milk solids, because mine didn't heat at all.

I find it ok to clean with some dishwashing liquid and wash as normal. I leave it to dry standing so the water doesnt get into the bottom electric part

Would you put your kettle in the fridge to keep your water cold? Then yes. Otherwise, no, put it in another container and store the milk that way.

I feel you need full cream milk to froth. I found my did not froth very well nor heat sufficiently.
I took it back to Aldi and was replaced as I had my receipt and was under 2 years warranty. This one frothed beautifully the first few days and then went back to the original problem..
I was getting fed up so i looked at reviews. I decided on a Breville one from Amazon Australia free delivery at $129. Quite expensive but seems worth the money going by the reviews. When I ordered it online my Aldi one decided to froth again but will probably have more problems. If so I will return it to Aldi for a refund. I want to enjoy my coffee without it overfliowing, not heating well or not frothing properly. The coffee machine is fine and capsules cheap.

I use mine for Almond milk and it froths beautifully as long as I use one particular brand of milk, Almond Breeze. When using regular dairy milk for friends I find it has quite a thick consistency, so I’d say that skim milk may froth similar to almond milk, a little lighter than regular full fat dairy milk. I love mine, I’ve never had any issues with it and I purchased it as a refurbished model from eBay.

My milk frother overflows when I fill it to the top maximum line, I have followed the instructions in the manual. Does anyone else have this problem?

1 answer
Glenda
Glenda

If I fill mine to the top maximum level and use the little stirrer attachment with the spiral ring it does overflow. Using the other one without the spiral ring, it doesn’t overflow. However I only use almond milk in mine and dairy could make it frothier.
When I make a cappuccino, I’ll heat the milk with the smaller laté attachment to the max level, then use the spiral attachment to the minimum level to make the cappuccino froth.

two questions- whats with the wire ring attached to the lid- and how come it only heats is up to warm- not hot?

1 answer
Glenda
Glenda

The wire ring attached to the lid is the mixer you use to make cappuccino froth, there is another for latte. Each one is held in the lid when not in use, you just unclip it when required. It does heat slightly hotter than warm but not excessively hot so that you burn your mouth, hence them saying warm. For me the heat is perfect.

As the expressi milk frother is supplied by Aldi I would think you could ask at your nearest store. They would have the best advice on how to source spare parts.

I think this was the same problem I had. I contacted the number listed on the machine to see if they had any suggestions (I hate waste and would rather fix than replace) and they basically said they'd look at it if it was under warranty (it wasn't) but otherwise couldn't help. I just ended up buying a new one and sent the old one to a electric goods recycling drop off point. Maybe not a helpful answer, but at $28 for a new one, and 4 years' use from the old one (that only cost $25), I figured it wasn't worth the time of energy to try and repair.

Hi smithy1, as Leigh replied after 4 years of good usage from the Frother, things do go wrong and slows down like us and everything around us, but if you know an electrician friend who would graciously look at it, it may just be something small that can be fixed, Aldi are usually pretty good with their appliances but they all have a used by date, see your friend ???? first before doing anything . This answer may not be what you expected but its what I would do if I could. All the best, Mj5

I'd say it's time to buy a new one. Can I have the small paddle inside??? Mines works but paddle went down the plug hole when cleaning> LOL

mistahd33

Return it and then heat your milk and use a small coffee plunger to froth it. It creates less landfill in this disposable age of "buy a new one". I wouldn't buy a new one if it's failed.

Does everyone else notice that they get about 6 months daily use before the teflon coating above the heating element (where the milk ALWAYS gets baked on) wears away completely making it MUCH harder to clean? How much landfill will Aldi milk frothers create if we need to keep buying new ones every 6 months? I've pictures of every Aldi milk frother I've ever encountered to illustrate the point, but can't add them to this question.

Hi, my Expressi Milk Frother has the same problem. The top teflon coating seems to be above the heating element (also where the milk always gets baked on) wears away 2 months ago (the frother was about 7-8 months old) and now got a bit of rusty on the top. I wonder could I get a replacement as it's still under 3 years warranty? but who I can speak to Aldi, Expressi or the after sales support mentioned on the box?
