Aggressive look but all the benefits of an all terrain
We have a Nissan Patrol Y62 and are travelling Australia towing a 3T caravan. We needed reliable tyres that were great off road but quiet on road with good tread life. We are thrilled with our AT3 wildpeaks and blown away by their performance. We have been in torrential downpour and people were getting off the road, but our wildpeaks were stable and handled the wet beautifully. We have also gone off-road and been equally impressed. The noise is minimal and dry handling excellent.

Disappointed
Although these tyres looked to have an aggressive tread pattern they are terrible in any off road situation, even wet grass they offer very little traction. Have had these for about 12 months on a navara dual cab and done about 30k km and they are pretty much done. Having BF Goodrich ko2s fitted today.

Good tyres.
I chose Falken tyres because the store was having them on sale at the time. I was worried whether they could last as long as the store manager advised. This is still being tested.
Noise of the tyres are louder than continental tyres. Had run on the tyres for more than 3 months. They still look very good.
Consider the price I would say they are good for the value..

Aggressive looking A/T with no noise
I just had Wild Peak AT3's fitted to my BT50 and they look awesome, and as the other reviews suggest no noise.
I am about to embark on an 8000 km round trip to the top end of WA and back taking on plenty of dirt and sand driving and will update review on return.
Part 2 having done 10,000 kms, including a good deal of heavily corrugated (dirt roads at 25psi and average 80kmph) to smooth out the bumps and plenty of Highway driving loaded up with all the camping gear and extra water/fuel I'm still impressed.
Handling on the dirt was excellent a...Read more
nd soft Beach sand at 17psi not a problem, also on wet roads on return to Perth plenty of grip. Measured tread in centre of tyres when new 10mm, now having racked up 10,000 kms measures just under 9mm. Also still quiet.

best on the market for the price
Put these to the test and past with flying colours! Mad to pay top dollar when these tyres will do the same if not better. Very quiet on the road, comfortable ride and grippy when you need it. Previous had Bridgestone A /T duller, another good tyre but the falken at3 w much much better. Took a leap of faith and now laughing with the off road gods!
April 6th 2022 Update: Best value for money

Great value for money.
I have a set on my ranger that have travelled approx 75000 ks, mainly on the bitumen with some dirt track driving and expect around 80000 ks and will fit the same again.
Smooth and quite ride that holds the road and hangs on in the wet,
Have rotated and balanced approximately every 10000 ks and they've worn evenly.
Overall a good tyre for the price.

Great tyres, great price
Fabulous tyres that are reasonably priced.
Purchased in August 2016 we have noticed there is no wear of the tread at all in the 8 months we've had them.
From the day they were put on the car has felt smoother to drive than it was before.
Bob Jane tyres really looked after us with our selection too. Even better we bought 3 and got one free! We also bought a spare just incase we ever need one.

Not a good tyre
Fitted to my 2007 Land cruiser 100 series. Previously at Bridgestone dueller A/T's which were fantastic. Went with the cheaper option to try out, got a set of highway tryes for the car at same time, they have been great but these ones on the cruiser wear very fast and on the edges, I have been back to Bob Jane and they did nothing but said keep an eye on them. I will be lucky to have them see out 40000km - which is not good for a 4x4 tyre. I guess at the end of the day you get what you pay for.

Great tyre
I've only had these tyres on for a few thousand kays but up to date I'm really happy with them. Quiet. Comfortable. Good wet and dry grip. Mostly on bitumen at the moment but have heard from others they are really good offroad. As yet i cant see any wear but like I said. Only a few thousand on them at the moment.
So far I'm wrapped. Great tyre...great price.

91,000km wild peak h/t fantastic
I ran wild peak h/t and have just now at 91,000 km have to change! Fantastic tyre highway and off road. Have done 4wd on sand and some rough road not the heavy 4wding. Have done a lot of road and highway driving up and down ranges and outback. Tyres performance have been great on the roads in dry and wet! Going back for my second set definitely got my monies worth!!

93000k and still going strong
I purchased 2 falken wild peak all terrains for the rear of my kia sorento 4wd at 142000k, now at 232000k they are only millimeters from the wear blocks and still going despite never having been rotated and over 50000k towing a camper trailer. I originally fitted these as they were on special a Bob jane t mart in mackay and cannot say that I've any complaints with these tyres at all, good grip on gravel and sandy roads, don't let go in the wet and quiet on the black top. Will definitely go for another set of these. Have been caught out in the past buying cheap import tyres and having them fail at low kms, respected brands were cheap knock off imitations, be wary of so called bargains!

Just over 70k kms and the fronts are getting close to the wear markers
I swapped the factory tyres on my PC Challenger for these before I picked it up from the dealer. Along with the ARB bar, Snorkel and Hayman Reece towbar these tyres filled out my need for a somewhat capable 4WD wagon.
Since new, the tyres have performed very well on the tar, dirt roads, rocky climbs and sandy flats. The one thing they could do better is mud, but maybe that's why you can buy MTs? I've not been stuck in mud, but once or twice the fronts have been too packed with mud to grip and only the locking rear diff got me out dry (but...Read more
filthy). One area to watch was tyre pressure, but some early tests caused me to end up with 41PSI all around when empty, 42 in the rears when loaded with the family. The biggest problem, and the reason the fronts need to be replaced is the wheel alignment caused the tyres to wear prematurely. Only the third alignment shop could get the alignment right on the Challenger, with both Mitsubishi and an 'offroad' tyre shop completely failing to get the alignment right. With the alignment right, the wear on the inside of the tyres reduced and they have worn evenly since. The rears will probably go another 2000km (to 75k km) or more. I'm about to buy another Wildpeak for my 6th rim to match the spare and will now run these on the front with one of the old fronts as the spare. Not sure what to buy next time, the new OPAT II are a great tyre but will have lower mud performance than what I have. If I could get the Toyo RT, that would be settled but Toyo AU don't bring them in. It will probably be another pair of Wildpeaks at this stage.1 comment

Good Tyres For a Fair Price
I purchased 4 Falken Wildpeak AT's 245/75/17 For my Mitsubishi Triton 4x4. "Replaced Bridgestone Dulers"
So far put approx 25,000km on them with overall good results.
Dry Traction- Great
Wet Traction- Good on highway & resistant to Aquaplaning. Around Corners & Roundabouts not to good, will wander & Squirm and often brake traction in 1st gear take offs.

Awesome tyres! Dont judge by the price!
Bought a full set for my jeep cherokee 2006 crd.
Gave them absolute death off road in limestone, through creeks and gravel. Even the side wall held up to the rocky terrain at 18 psi and offered very good grip.
The deep tread is fantastic and with a 2nd wheel alignment/ rotation I managed to get 52000kms out of them .
only expected 35000 because i don't bother to air down when off roading half the time.
I replaced my tyres with a new set of wild peak AT2 again 2 weeks ago from bobjane osbourne park. Top Blokes at that Shop!

Falken Wildpeak Tyre
Don't waste your time and money on these tyres. They're total rubbish. We only had them a couple of months and they are completely worn. We are totally disappointed. A complete waste of money and a total rip off. I can not believe that a tyre so bad is even sold

Won't Last
The depth of the tread varies across the tyre at the centre, it is 11mm on the shoulder it is only 5mm so when the shoulder wears 4 mm technically the tyre is now not roadworthy disappointed to say the least. Purchased at bob jane T mart Dandenong two weeks ago.

Bald at 26000km
Had these on my pathfinder for 12months done 26000kms and where bald and also down to canvas in patches you could also see the rubber was peeling off in balls once warm after minimal driving. I also had 2 wheel alignments done and rotations to ensure this wasn't the problem, 85% on road driving with 15% dirt use. Very disappointed now switched to dick cepick tyres and paid the little extra $$$ for quality.

Perfect so far!
First set of ATs replacing the original Bridgestone tyres on my Challenger Pb.
Great grip in dry and wet conditions. Worried about road noise but these tyres are only audible when the car is rolling with Windows down, so I am quite happy there. Handling has been assured and I can feel the difference when steering, like I hv better control of the car.
Will update when I hv run more kms.
BTW I installed them with the blue raised letters inside. The thread looks great, not overly aggressive for my taste but unmistakably ATs,.

Bald in less than 35000 kms
Purchased these as they were recommend by the tyre place. So very disappointed had a puncture in the first month and they are bald to the canvas less than a year later. Have had them rotated and balanced and do mostly highway driving, been off road a couple of times only. I definitely won't be getting these again anytime soon

What is the air pressure
2 answers
Sorry but this is not a question. Which air pressure?
The air pressure in my Falken tyres is dependant on the terrain over which I drive. Around town I run the tyres at 35-40 and as low as 15 4WD on outback trails. I suggest you talk to your tyre retailer or study your hand manual.

Hello l’m having 255/65/r17 A/T3w’s put on my Dmax on Thursday and will be towing a 22’ van would 41-42 psi be ok when towing and 38 psi when driving around town.

Falken give a table for all sizes of tyres on their website so you can look up the recommended pressure for all loads on all sizes.
Thank you
I strongly suggest you ask the tyre retailer that question. I do not tow trailers of any shape or form as my Troopy is configured as my motor home. All I can tell you about my new Falken tyres is that they suit my needs and so far I am quite happy with their performance.

Hi there, I m running Dunlop AT22 265/65/17 for my Ford ranger xlt 3.2(2018).Now, thinking of upgrading to Falken AT3/W, any lifting or modify needed? Tks

I'm sorry I cannot give you any technical info as per your question,,, all I can say is that I have had a few brands of tyres on my Troopy over the years including the Dunlops you have,, plus,, B F Goodrich and Coopers on which I toured Australia on some pretty rugged terrain. I was happy with the Dunlop and Goodrich tyres, disappointed in the Coopers and so far I am happy with the Falkens albeit I haven't done any serious off-roading yet. For a rugged looking tyre they are very quiet around town but I cannot give you any thoughts on 4WDing, although my tyre supplier has given me great recommendations. Give em a try and good luck.
If you stay with the same size tyre there is no change to any aspect of your vehicle.
If you change the tyre size you will need to stay withing any legal constraints applicable, here we are allowed 2 inch larger diameter for example. Then you will need to check whether larger diameter and/or width will foul the wheel arch - steering wheels have more movement. If there is any fouling you may be able to panel beat, adjust steering lock etc. or you may need suspension modification. Best place to look would be on a Ranger owners forum.

The rear tyres ended up going for 85,000 km and still had legal road wear left.
