Brand new and we are really stoked!

published

Just had this unit plumbed for the water and ice. Working just fine. Like the look of it, the capaciousness, the water and ice dispenser, the quietness. Others have mentioned the water dispensed is not cold enough, weird, seems cold enough to me... it lights up when activated too, which is helpful when you want some water in the middle of the night in a dark kitchen. My wife and I are very satisfied with our purchase thus far and kudos to our plumber here on the sunshine coast who did an abfab job of hooking it all up at a VERY reasonable price...
good looking, fit in the space well, roomy, lots of slots for adjusting the shelves, slide out trays, lcd read-out for functions is plain excellent
nothing so far...

Great family fridge

published

Great fridge. Love the stainless look and won't leave finger prints.
Lots of room in both fridge section and freezer section.
Having the warning beep is great as children leave door open.
This fridge hasn't missed a beat.
Roomy

Arrived faulty from the factory and service is hopeless.

Hi mr4011, can you tell me what brand you were recommended & did it live up to your expectations?
Thanks.

Nice lookin fridge

published

I bought this fridge for my family after owning a 330 litre top mount for years. I was very limited on the size of the fridge I could buy for the area that I had. I ended up deciding on this one because it was the biggest that I could squeeze into the area of the kitchen. There were a couple of other designs in this model but I decided to buy this one for it's looks. The doors and handles are square and look very modern.
Huge internal size, clean lines exterior, great looking fridge, bottom mount makes accessing the fridge very easy.
Only one issue with this fridge - noise. My 15 year old Westinghouse was much quieter than this one. The motor makes quite a noise but I can live with it.

I brought 2 E522BRXFD Fisher & Paykel fridges in stainless steel, the stainless steel quality in realy rubbish. The door dent really easly.

I agree with Sharker, I have one dent in the fridge, and that was from me being careless with our doorbell speaker falling from on top of the fridge.

Well, after a few years the fridge is still going without any problems, has been easy to keep clean. Can't complain.

Pros - there really are none - apart from it looks good
Cons - terrible - leaks from the bottom - had service calls and apparantly was either due to temperature; or the plastic thing on top of the drawers (most fiddly) not being fitted properly - still leaks all the time - makes horrible noise often from freezer part
Overall - would never buy F&P again

This is my first 'family' fridge, I had a small Westinghouse before and that did not keep the food fresh. This F&P keeps my fruit and veges fresh for weeks - I had mushrooms loose in a paper bag for 2 weeks and they were still edible, same with a packet of lettuce - I was lucky to get 4 days in the old fridge.
It looks good. It keeps the food really fresh. It's quiet and functional. Easy to clean and Iridium finish is great
I don't dislike anything but the fridge door opens to a wall so you can only open 90deg, makes it hard to get into the fruit and vege trays because you have to slide the tray out - only the smaller one close to the door is a huge issue.

ActiveSmart E522BRXFDU (Stainless Steel, Right Door)

I took out and cleaned the evaporation tray at back. Disconnected water to replace flter, now after approx 4 hrs the fridge trips the power. If fridge is disconnected and then re-connected straight away-trips power again. If left overnight and switch on again in the morning will work fine for another 4 hrs-repeating same. Any suggestions?

Sorry Greg, I have no answer as yet. I have the same issue that has occurred to my E522B which keeps tripping the RCD. I have tested the heater element and it appears OK for the reading of this model (150 ohms). Did you end up finding the cause to your fault.
Regards GW
