Terrible Machine, Wait for 1-2 years to passby
EDIT JUNE 2022 -- Taking off the 5 star rating ... THIS MACHINE IS NOTHING BUT PROBLEM after warranty period passes by.
After a year of purchase - Internal machine door rubber gave up, luckily covered under warranty.
Now after another year the same rubber part on door has developed holes where its rusting and leaking water with rust...
Also the 'Quiteness' has now gone away and it is as loud as 5-10 yr old machines....
Very disappointed with the purchase, what a waste of money.
Going to F&P means they will now charge us, callout fee + repair + part.
Very poor form F&P.

---------------------------------------------- purchased this machine last year on specials from Jbhifi for $790 and claimed $100 in F&P Cashback offer, so it costed me $690. (and a matching Dryer DE6060G1) Now for an Premium Brand like Fisher & Paykel a front loader 8.5Kgs for $690 was a steal to start with. Pros: ~Q-U-I-E-T very QUIET ~LED light inside is quite helpful at times ~Different wash modes respond well ~Ability to add a garment in between the cycle Cons: Can't think of any

This was an excellent purchase
Our clothes have never been cleaner! The cycle is quick, quiet and gentle on clothes. We will now purchase the matching heat pump condensing dryer for our new apartment, along with F&P kitchen appliances. We purchased the washing machine directly from F&P, they promptly delivered it, installed it and removed the old Bosch which we were glad to see the back of!

Functional, efficient and Smart
We purchased this washer as a mate for the F&P DH8060P Heat Pump Dryer. They replaced an 8 year old Samsung Washer/Dryer that had become uneconomic to repair. Both were purchased from Appliances Online and delivered with the F&P stacking kit. The washer is very quiet and simple to use. The clothes quickly come out fully clean and ready for drying. Vibration is minimal. There are a good range of washing functions to suit different items. This includes a super quick cycle that will wash minimally soiled items in 15 minutes. In addition it has th...Read more
e time saver function that works across other wash cycles to intelligently reduce wash times. We are hoping for a long service life for this machine which has minimum moving parts because of the direct drive motor. All in all we are very pleased with this washer although it's early days yet... we've only had it 1 weekSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Does the job
It cleans & rinses well. Considering the spin cycle is something like 1400rpm the machine is reasonably quite with little vibration (unlike our last LG).
We were tossing up between this & a Miele, but given the substantial price difference believe we made the right choice.
Plenty of features & different settings available.

ok could be better
Recently brought this as the reviews were great!
We don't love it, its just ok. Only ever had a top loader before this however we needed more space hence buying a front loader.
Clothes aren't as clean as I would expect from a new washing machine
Cycles are an hour plus and even then the timer seems to take longer than an actual clock
My bra's and delicates even when using a wash bag aren't treated carefully
On the plus side I love the add garment feature as this is very handy and the clothes come out very spun which saves drying time

Great replacement for our old Fisher and paykel
Quieter, carries a bigger load and a good spread of functions compared to our older machine. We traded up, not because our machine was not working, but before it started to not work. It lasted well for around 7 years. This machine is quieter and seems better overall in the area of programs and cleaning. It allows for additional clothing and just seemed to have a better reliability reputation than other brands.

I'm now sold on front loaders.
We've had Fisher & Paykel top loaders since their first Gentle Annie model 30 odd years ago. We decided to opt for a front loader for the first time only because we wanted to build a counter unit in our laundry so a top loader was not an option. Even though we paid a more than we expected we are really amazed at this new machine. Sure it takes longer to do a load of washing, but the results are amazing. A permanent stain that has been on a top and washed many times, came out this morning after being washed in the front loader! An added bonus is...Read more
that we only use half a scoop of washing powder and haven't used conditioner. There’s no noticeable difference in the clothes which is going to save money in the long run. I was hesitant at first because of reports of stiff towels and tangled shirts, but I can report I have not experienced this at all with this machine. The only other reservation I had was having to bend down to get the washing, but I haven't been bothered by it all. UPDATE 18 months later. The F&P front loader still continues to please. I was put off initially about all the comments about how long it takes to do a wash (55 minutes for the everyday wash). It has never bothered me as it is so gentle on my clothes and it’s not as if I’m sitting waiting for it to finish. I like how you can add clothes at anytime during the wash cycle. I thought it would be difficult to bend down to get clothes out. It’s actually easier than reaching into the bottom of a top loader. I’ll update again in another 18 months.Similar opinion? Excellent product.
After nearly ten years of hell with three different Whirlpool front load washers I couldn't wait to switch to a different brand. Figuring that we'd had no complaints with any of our F & P appliances over the years that's what we chose. It's now been over six months and I honestly have no complaints.
Sometimes it takes longer than the timer suggests but that's not an issue for me, it washes really well and has a lot of cycles and options to choose from. Even the fifteen minute wash does a great job on the clothes.

h cycles are a lifesaver because who has time to hand wash these days, and it spins everything nice and almost dry. Big capacity is important for our big family as I wash almost daily. It's neither loud nor super quiet, if the door to the laundry is open there are some stages of the cycle you can hear from a couple of rooms away but, again, it's not an issue. Overall very happy with this machine, especially considering that with the Whirlpool I bought back in 2009 it had already been replaced by this stage for being a lemon.Similar opinion? Functions perfectly
We have had this machine for 6 months now and are most impressed. The short cycle is just under and hour and it washes clothes and bedding very well. We have never had to use longer cycles to date. The machine is very quiet to boot. We can barely hear it. So, far this appliance has been faultless. The controls are well set out and easy to use. It even has a tub clean cycle which is very useful. Most impressed. This machine was also priced very competitvely.

What is the difference between the front load fabric smart and wash smart machines?
2 answers
It appears that the difference is simply a bit less water used in the cycles. Personally, if I need to be sure of full rinsing, and I've maximised on the quantity of items for the cycle, or it's for items worn next the skin, I do an extra rinse - which can defeat the objective of saving water. Also to be aware of - don't overdo the quantity of detergent; more does not necessarily mean a better wash, and it will always be a problem for rinsing properly. Front loaders need less anyway. The F&P we have is definitely the best machine we've ever had.
Thank you Kate.

apparently the rubber around where the door shuts/on the machine gets full of grime an hard to clean. any comments on this please

I haven’t had any issues with this on this model. I did with my old Bosch front loader and learnt my lesson as it got mouldy as I left the door closed when not in use. That is the key, keep door open to let the machine dry after use. If worried about it just wipe through the seal area to dry off after use
