I have a gw512, 5.5kg top loader. There is grit left in the machine after it finishes the washing. It's all over the clothes as well. Any advice? Thanks in advance

I have had my washindaä machine since 2004 and it’s been fantastic. Recently when filling up with cold water, the cold water has been flowing up through the hot water hose. Note that the hot water hose is disconnected from the tap/wall. Can someone let me know if this is easily fixed?

put an end cap to prevent backflow.
this leaking is normal - inlet valve stops water entering, but not exiting.

Hi! I have the GW512 and have recently started having a problem with lint buildup all over my clothes. I've tried the tips in the manual about using more detergent, higher water levels and cleaning the agitator and bowl with no change in lint. Could you please help?

SORTING - Clothes that give off lint, such as towels and flannelette sheets, should not be washed in the same load with clothes that pick up lint eg synthetic fabrics.
OVERLOADING THE MACHINE - Clothes need to be able to move freely and allow the lint to be passed through the holes in the inner bowl.
NOT ENOUGH DETERGENT - There must be enough detergent in the water to hold the lint in suspension. So the detergent can carry the lint away as the machine drains.
FABRIC SOFTENER - Using a fabric softener can sometimes reduce the amount of lint
POSITION OF DRAIN HOSE - Drain hoses that have a long loop in them may be collecting lint at the bottom of the loop. Try adjusting the drain hose so there is less of a loop, so the lint is more likely to get flushed out, rather than collect in the drain hose.
OVERDRYING IN A DRYER - Overdrying in a dryer can cause a build up of static electricity in man-made fabrics and cause them to attract lint.
PANTIHOSE - A pair of old pantihose tied up in a ball and left in the bowl is supposed to be a good collector of lint.
REDUCE WASH / AGITATE TIME -adjust the long wash from 4 down to 3 lights. This effectively reduces the agitate time from 12 to 9 minutes
