Do not buy ..Blasts constant heavy flow of hot air 45 degree celcius into kitchen
Vent above oven door blasts heavy, constant flow of hot air 45 degree celcius back into kitchen at waist height. Flow and heat of air is so hot that kitchen is unbearable. Appreciate all ovens give off heat but this is ridiculous. Previous Fisher and Paykel oven was great so i stayed with brand. Extremely disappointed as i believe its not fit for purpose. Friends have commented when they have entered kitchen when oven is on. It's so bad that i dont want to use oven.
Purchased in December 2021 at The Good Guys for $1,600.00.

A pleasure to use
Have had this for more than a year and it is a really good unit. Gets used about twice a week. The controls and performance make it a pleasure to use. The pyrolytic cleaning function has been used once and was brilliant - the door had to be taken off and the glass cleaned first and that was a nuisance, but the cleaning result was fantastic – 18 months of spills burnt off and the interior was like new.
Purchased in November 2021 at Harvey Norman Retail Stores.

Great features, but they do occasionally stuff up
I had to have the first oven taken back because the F&P tech guys didn't know what was wrong with it. A case of too much electronics - hard to work out where the fault is. The oven door "locked" and being Friday night and a long weekend, I had food in oven for 3 days before Tech guy came and "unjammed" it(electronic malfunction), then the electronic board where main controls are played up. A new board didn't fix the problem so they gave me a new oven. Internal lights stopped working after 2 weeks and clock/timer sometimes changes by itself b...Read more
ut actual oven is still working after 12 months. I like the design, but less electronics would probably make it easier to operate & fix. And the internal lights should be more long lasting - they blow very quickly (a manual switch for the lights would be better - take heed F&P)....Purchased in April 2021 at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Appliances for $1,900.00.

Uneven cooking
i like the features of the oven, however I'm so disappointed in the way the food cooks.
It browns on the right side then the outside of the cake cooks and middle is still raw. When it get around to cooking the middle itemoutside is over cooked.
It's definitely not baking evenly like I thought a new oven would
The electrician has "looked" at it twice and I still havnt got an answer

Unknown issues
I was unaware after much research, that these new ovens not only take ages to warm up, but also cool off spitting hot air into my kitchen. Cooks well but in summer there's no way I can use it to counteract the air conditioner [cost?]. And the timer is so soft I'd not hear it if in another room. Also even though I read every detail before, I was not informed that the cleaning program does not include the cleaning of the trays. Not happy.

Faulty design - poor electronics
Had this put into my house by my builder. From day one it's had faults, electronics work intermittently. Door hinge has broken and now the door does not shut correctly. Fisher and Paykel are not interested in helping and make this more difficult. Cooking wise it's ok but nothing special for a $2,000 oven. My previous Euro oven cooked just as good for $499!

Will purchase this again and again
My favourite feature of this oven is the self cleaning. No more harsh chemicals to clean my oven, I paid a little extra for this feature but would highly recommend it. Another great feature is the warm setting on this oven. If only I had room for two in my kitchen.

Great oven
This was my best purchase.
I have worked in the industry and new the next oven for me would be this model.
Great size. Telescopic rails which i love.
Plenty of cooking options.
This even shows the heat temperature increasing as its gets to the temp selected.
It does vent out the door after turning off to release the heat from the oven so just be aware of this

Poor customer service from Fisher and Pykel (Illawarra area - NSW)
As I write this review my husband and I are still waiting, after nearly 3 weeks for our Fisher and Pykel 60 cm pyrolytic oven to be fixed. It is Easter. I have questioned their follow up and demanded to be compensated or a new oven. All they offer is a $100 gift voucher.
If this was another well known company, they would have fixed or replaced our oven by now. We have had the run around by the F & P’s authorised repairer for nearly 3 weeks, with the oven still sitting in our kitchen unusable. They seem to think it is okay to allow this bad ser...Read more

Not too shabby
I don't have any issues with this product. It is easy to cook with and clean! It is also simple to operate which is what I want when cooking. The food I place in the oven come out great, and I am very satisfied with this product. Very smart looking.

Great Oven
After 30 years, my oven door wouldn't close!! We went looking at ovens. A lot has changed in 30 years!! I wanted an oven that would hold a roast as well as baked vegetables, garlic bread etc. My old oven was big, and I wanted one that would also cook more than one thing at a time. We went to some cooking demonstrations to see how modern ovens worked. After a lot of deliberations, we chose this Fisher and Paykel 60cm, 90L self cleaning oven. I am hoping that my dishes will be tastier than before, and better cooked! The meat probe is a bi...Read more
g plus and takes the guessing out of perfectly cooked roasts. I photocopied the cooking charts from the oven book and put them into my recipe book( an A4 plastic sleeve folder). I check with them before I cook, and I am beginning to remember the settings. The oven is easy to use. With 11 functions, you should be cooking dishes to perfection! I like the extendable shelves that are easy to pull out. My husband doesn't mind at all removing the oven door and replacing it before the self cleaning process. Removing shelves before self cleaning is easy once you've done it once. The self cleaning process is easy and I love wiping up the little pile of ash at the end and seeing a perfectly clean oven! Those baked on overspills from pizzas or lasagne cooking just disappear without any hard scrubbing or oven cleaners having to be used! I love my new oven and am looking forward to many more cooking adventures with it!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Self Cleaning - What a waste of time
Firstly I love the look of the new oven and when I worked out which setting to use it cooks beautifully. Love the plug in thermometer and having variable settings to choose from. Things I don't like are:-
The timer is way too low to even hear
The oven fan stays on for up to an hour after I have turned it off even if I open the door to cool it down quicker.
It is very noisy.
The self cleaning function takes me three times longer to clean than a normal oven, you have to remove the door then the three glass panels and clean them all separatel...Read more

Looks beautiful - works perfectly.
This oven was an easy purchase. Have used the pyrolytic cleaning once and it performed as expected. Best to keep a window or two open when the cleaning is in progress. Racks and shelves easy to remove. Oven settings clear to understand and operate. Definitely user friendly. We have been F&P fans for 30 years.

Very happy with it so far
I've had this for just under 12 months and it has been really good. It maintains temperature very well and cooks whatever is inside very evenly.
The timer is easy to use and unlike those old ovens where the last 10 minutes turns off the oven, this one keeps the temperature steady even after the timer goes off.
All the other function may get confusing at first but the basic functions (fan forced, top and bottom heat, grill) are all there and there is really a function for every occasion.
The oven fits all my needs and can do so much more. Would recommend 100%

Convenience and size
This is a big step up in ovens. The telescopic shelves make life easier and safer with hot loads. The pyrolytic function is a dream, and the oven looks good too.
The oven is deeper and bigger than normal 60cm ovens and comes with a roasting tray and baking tray as well.
For fitting, just be aware it does not have a cut-away at the top like many. You need to make sure the cavity is clear of all obstructions.
I think you will love this oven.

Great oven heats up very quickly.
Nice big oven with telescopic shelves which can be replaced with convention shelves if you need to fit more shelves in the oven as they take up room .cutting down the amount of shelves that can fit in.Mine was faulty from the start and so all the electronics were replace with no fuss through F &P.
One thing people need to know
Re burning food is that when you are pre heating your oven do not place any food in until it gets up to temperature,as it uses all the elements to get it up to temp quickly which includes the grill hence people complaining about burning food, this is the reason. This is my second fisher and paykel oven.

Now a pretty good oven
We've been using our second OB60SL11DEPX1 for 11 months (the first was replaced by F&P as it had an intermittent heating problem) and we are happy to report that it works well on the 4 settings we use most often. Fan forced, bake, fan bake and self clean all do the job. Meals come out well cooked, and the oven works predictably (unlike the one it replaced). We are now pleased with the performance of this oven.
Cleaning the oven is a chore and we think it may have been easier getting an oven with catalytic liners rather than pyrolytic clean...Read more
ing. This oven replaced a 20 year old catalytic oven which was a cinch to keep clean. With the OB60SL11DEPX1 all the shelf supports need to be removed and the door glass cleaned before the pyrolytic process can begin. Admittedly the oven is very clean after the 2-3 hour cycle and makes up for the hard work. Previous review text: Although our first meal made in the OB60SL11DEPX1 in July 2016 was perfect we have had problems since then. The oven didn't maintain its temperature which caused meals to take an extra 30 minutes or longer to cook and often drying out in the process. Fisher and Paykel service staff (who we are very impressed with) changed the temperature sensor and circuit board but the problem continued. F&P replaced the oven December 2016. Again at first the replacement oven worked fine but soon again drifted to lower temperatures during use. What proved to be especially annoying was that the oven wouldn't return to its set temperature after the oven door had been opened to check on the food. We would have to raise the set temperature (and that sometimes wasn't effective) and had to watch the oven to ensure that it wouldn't get too hot for the food being cooked. We are now using two oven thermometers (just to ensure that the first one wasn't wildly inaccurate) to monitor the oven temperature. Last night the oven reached its set temperature and then halfway through the cooking dropped from 200C to 185C without the door being opened. We could see that some of the food wasn't cooking to schedule and raised the set temperature to compensate. No one wants to have to keep checking on an oven. If the problem continues, when we have enough data we will call F&P service again. Our initial 5 star review (from July 2016) about oven cooking performance: "We have had the OB60SL11DEPX1 for around 2 weeks and really like this oven. It is much deeper then our previous oven and the extra depth of the roasting dish provides space for much larger meals. The oven heats up quickly, the controls are very easy to use (with symbols and words to identify each cooking function) and we like how the light 'halo' around the temperature control knob changes colour when the set temperature is reached.Similar opinion? Great oven.
Very easy to use and cooks beautifully. Much faster than my old oven.
It's also easy to keep clean, love the pyrolytic cleaning feature.
Only issue is the air venting from the front is unpleasant when you're standing in front of it to cook, but I'm told all modern electric ovens do this.

Not happy with this oven
I bought this oven in January, very noisy, fan unit needed replacing, wait 2 months for part.
Baking is not good, muffin batter gets blown sideways on fan bake, chocolate cake takes 70 minutes, (normal cook time in other ovens 55 minutes), so have to cover with baking paper part way through cooking to avoid burnt top. Have emailed their 'customer help' repeatedly, answer each time was 'call a tech'. Called tech, and he said, "can't answer 'baking questions'. He did get their 'test kitchen' to bake my chocolate cake recipe and reported back...Read more

The oven will not work. It only shows F215 (an error code!?). What does this mean? How can we fix it?
6 answers
I'm not a technician, I am just the owner of an oven, just like you. My suggestion is, check online, find the manual for your oven and see what the error code means.
Or call a technician. Cheers
According to the user manual (page 61) an alert code starting with 'F' indicates a technical fault. The manual says to contact authorised repairer or customer care with the alert code info.
That did not help. Customer Care could not answer what the code meant, other than repeat what the manual had shown "Technical fault". I now know from my own investigation that the control circuit was compromised by humidity (from the oven), and had to be "dehydrated". After several days of "dehydration" the fault disappeared and the oven has functioned satisfactorily since.

Intermittently our oven makes a bleep like cords up a keyboard and turns off. We then have to re-set the clock, etc. to start up again. It only does this occasionally, and only either within the first 30 seconds of turning the function knob to the required position, or when the function knob is turned to off after use. The oven works perfectly every other time. Any advise you can give as to the possible cause would be appreciated.

Good to know someone else has this exact problem. Does not affect the oven performance and happens occasionally. We assume it may be something to do with power surges and haven't done anything about it ad oven works perfectly!
I have a 9 function oven, and I have not experienced what you describe. Apart from the useless low tone timer ring the oven has worked satisfactorily.

sn't sound like a jet engine during cooking or cooling down. (The first one was so noisy during cooling you could hear it at the other end of the house). I haven't had time to test bake in it yet, but will keep you all updated. At least I can say that F & P have stood behind their product. A supervisor took over my 'case' after I posted my dissatisfaction on their Facebook page and once that happened I got excellent service.
