Great fridge
We've had our fridge for around 2 months and so far it's excellent! Our previous fridge was over 15 years old, so I'm not sure if all new fridges are this great, but we love this one. The french doors are excellent, as ours opens beside a doorway so someone can still get through when the door is open. It took us a few days to get used to having to push the doors closed a bit harder than our old fridge because of the "soft close" but even our 3 year old had this figured out quickly. The best feature for me is that the vegie crisper works so ...Read more
well at keeping vegies fresh I haven't had any spoilage at all, and no food wastage. I also like the freezer drawer, easy to get to everything, and separate compartments where we keep our meat and bread. The freezer drawer needs a fairly strong pull to break the seal to open it, this is fine for me (and actually deters our 3yo from looking in the freezer), but for someone elderly this could be a bit of a pain. We also love the look of the fridge, and everyone who's seen it says the same. White, with flat doors and solid stainless steel handles, it's sleek but she shape and solid feel reminds me of the family fridge when i was a kid in the 70's. The white doesn't show fingerprints and has kept nice and clean even with two kids in the house. The downsides for me are that the energy rating is low (however comparable to similar fridges), and I wonder why the french door model is so much more expensive (approx $500) than the regular bottom mount of the same model. The sales staff mentioned it costs more to manufacture the extra door and hinges, but that's a pretty expensive door! Very minor downsides are that the ice tray is a bit awkward, and I was surprised there were no egg holders (maybe because the doors are quite short, and 12 eggs wouldn't fit in a door compartment?). The horizontal bottle holders included are quite good though (we use them to store everyone's drink bottles). Oh, and the bottle chill button is really good too, for quickly chilling drinks in the freezer, and the timer goes off to remind you to take them out.Similar opinion?
