Good fridge
I’m been having the fridge for a month, so far so good despite some of the negative comments on this site. One of the plastic lids from the door came cracked but I rang support and they sent me a replacement in less than a week. Regarding the noise I don’t understand all the fuss, it’s as noisy as any other fridge, the noise level is really low, all fridges work with compressors which is not a zero noise level device, it’s pretry remarkable they can make it very quiet these days. The ice tray that came with is not really useful that’s why I didn’t buy a fridge with water dispenser, a fridge manufacturer is good in making fridges after all. So far everything is working as expected and I’m happy with the product.

Love my fridge! Built the kitchen around it!
I just love this fridge, easy to keep clean, easy to use, keeps food fresh. Shop arond on price, we got $300 back while it was on special, delivered by Appliances Online. Loads of light, and the two shelves in the drawer are great. Haven't connected the ice yet but will...when the new kitchen comes.

Our last fridge of many
Generally happy with this fridge. Crisper tray does need both doors open and freezer could be larger. However quietest fridge we have owned and we have open plan kitchen, lounge, dining area so this is important! Does get some condensation at top of joint in gap between doors on worst humid days. Easy to clean.

OK
Just got it yesterday, so far so good. It is stainless steel looks nice outside and comes with 2 year-warranty. Also, as a french door design, it fits in the fridge slot perfectly. I was deciding from this one and another on, Hair. Same storage capacity and similar design, but price is quite different. But eventually I went for this one coz it says the best fridge brand in Australia. Hope it wont disappoint me.

Excellent
This is a great fridge, it keeps everything nice and cold and fresh as well the freezer is the only problem that being on the bottom it’s in a bad location and is also very small for the actual size of the fridge, but apart from that, we are very happy with the fridge

Great little fridge
I've only had this fridge for a month but its been great thus far. It makes little to no noise, which is a bonus.
The only annoying thing is both fridge doors needs to be opened to access the crisper. The freezer component is a tad small but it's enough for the 2 of us at the moment.

OK, but noisy
Pros:
-Looks good; inside and out
-Functional loading, lighting and usage
-Crisper works well to prolong fruit and veg
Cons:
-The noise (on top of the constant humming noise it produces, theres vibration throughout the machine that vibrates the plastic lids on the dairy compartments. I used blue-tac on the dairy compartments in-between the lid and the base to take away the vibration noise)
-Have to open both doors wide to access crisper
-Children struggle to close the french doors in the correct order for them to lock closed (the alarm will let you know though)

Unbelievably quiet fridge.
Despite the mixed bag of reviews for this fridge we decided to go for it as a replacement for our old F&P fridge, which hadn't missed a heartbeat in nearly 15 years and was being put out to pasture as a bar fridge and bait freezer following a kitchen reno.
Not taking away anything from the reviewer that commented on how loud the fridge is, but the one we had delivered runs silent ... I mean spooky silent ... been over three weeks now and I have finally stopped opening the doors to check that it is still on.
The doors are the self close ty...Read more
pe, so you close the door to a point that it is very nearly closed and let it take over the last few centimeters. However, you can't just let the door go or slam dunk it and expect it to close by itself so my wife reckons that households with kids or husbands might need to retrain them to actually close the door. It has door alarms on both fridge and freezer so you'll know when it is not closed properly. The alarm can be temporarily switched off when loading the groceries by pressing a button on the control panel in the fridge compartment thus avoiding the annoying beeping of our old F&P model or the repeated open/close process. A small but useful additional function. I needed to set the temp to the lowest setting for both fridge and freezer to get the temp we wanted but once it got to temp all areas of the fridge and freezer seem chilled to a consistent point and has kept that low temp thorough the 40+ days we just had in Sydney. My wife thinks the freezer compartment is smaller than our older and physically smaller F&P model. I'm not convinced she is correct but have thus far resisted the urge to mansplain. We both agree that the new freezer compartment is much easier to use and locate things, indeed the design of the freezer compartment was one of the reasons why we bought this model. It is also made of real stainless steel as opposed to just a veneer of steel look-a-like cladding, so if you live near the coast this is a plus given salt air (my old white bar fridge just rusted away). I think Westinghouse are the only other fridge-freezer manufacturer that uses proper stainless but I've had some quality issues with the big brand from USA so stayed with F&P even though it was a couple of hundred bucks more.Similar opinion? Bad start but ok so far
We bought this model fridge rf522adjx5 from jbhifi when it was 15% off and manufacturer offering $250 cash back. The first night it leaked all over the floor which was a shocking Start. f&P sent out a technician the following week. They plugged it in and waited 30 min and said all was fine and might have just been water defrosting which is not uncommon. But now looking at jb's website they have stopped selling this fridge so it makes me nervous. I will update my review once I get longer use out of it! Ps I'm still waiting on the cash back and t...Read more
hey were not satisfied with jbhifis tax invoice I provided as nowhere does it say how I paid and if balance has been paid off. Very annoying format for their online invoices!! Also they offered free delivery which was great but no option for plug in service so it was literally delivered in the box to the kitchen and that's it. So in future I might get it from a store that provides better after service and a proper receipt!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Poor customer service
Fridge stopped working, on calling customer support was told we had to wait a week for technician.
The technician arrived and believed there was a faulty weld that has let gas escape. As the fridge is 3 years old only the compressor would be covered by warranty even though he believes the fault would have been there from manufacture. But they may not replace the compressor if they can get the fridge working by replacing parts at our cost and re-gassing.
Best part is while being run around by customer service on the phone to be told that this is a result of global warming.
If you want good support service do not go with Fisher and Paykel

Functional Quiet Refridgerator
We finally replaced our old two door 30 year old Phillips refridgerator with this modern french door unit.
It is very quiet and from the day it was delivered, (we've had it 1 month), it's been a dream to use.
The double door opening makes it easy to find things, comes wih glass shelves which are easy to clean.
We didn't previously store our milk in the door as it seemed to go off quickly, however with the configuration of this new refridgerator, the door is the optimal space for a 3L bottle but so far its not a problem.

iner would be useful to be supplied but you can buy an egg holder in variety stores and this solves the problem of where to store them safely. I like the freezer compartments, a vast improvement on what we used to have. The drawers are useful to separate items and we find it easy to locate items. All in all, I think its a great refridgerator, and I'm happy we finally upgraded.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bad freezer configuration
My complaint about this fridge is the freezer compartment configuration. It has one top drawer, half of which is taken up with the ice function, and then the rest of it is just a big tub. This might be suitable for someone who likes to buy a side of lamb from time to time, but is no good at all for a cook who wants to prepare canapés or whatever in advance and stack them in a convenient shelf or drawer.
And now I've finished the kitchen I can't find another fridge to fit.
Not happy Fisher & Paykel!

Love it!
Its a great size, spacious and great for an organised fridge. However, the freezer is like a treasure chest, making it pretty hard to look for things. There is also no egg holder which annoys the crap outta me and the ice tray thing is a bane of my existence. The fridge maintains a good even temperature and the fast freeze function for the freezer actually works amazingly well.

Great family fridge
Super easy to clean and the moveable shelves make it easy to fill without looking overflowed.
Great storage in the freezer too as I have a lot of meals I’ve frozen :) it fits perfectly and isn’t too wide. The shelves come out for easy cleaning and the surface doesn’t tarnish so it only needs a wipe down.

Love it
This fridge is great. Roomy with large wide shelves and being glass you can see everything in the fridge. It is quiet (the only time it is noisy is when it drops a load of ice). The temperature control is great and things last aa long time in the crispers (it has special settings for each sort of food you may store there). I haven't had any problems with the doors closing, they self-close and make a tight connection. The freezer is roomy, but not as easy to use as an above fridge type, due to the fact that you can't really stack food and see it as well. The cold water and ice maker are great and ice production is quick enough to keep up with our demand. I'd recommend this to anyone.

Practically uncleanable
This fridge is great- until the day comes you decide to clean it. The humidity tray is a dirt trap which is extremely difficult to remove and replace, and plastic componentry is very flimsy. I don't think this fridge will last very long, which will be a relief! The freezer is too small for our family, and the plastic hook which pulls the upper drawer shut rips up packaging of foods. I am thinking of cutting it off ( not everyone in the family is as careful in arranging the foods every time to avoid packaging being ripped). Spilled frozen foods ...Read more
just add to the cleaning problems. The fridge looks great, and the ice cube basket is handy, however we end up filling that area with food because of lack of space. A lot of space is wasted because of the arrangement of trays and baskets.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Terrible warranty service
Beware of the closing mechanism. From day one the doors didn't close properly, they bounced back if you didn't swing them really hard. Although F & P admitted that they were faulty, and it qualified as a warranty issue, they wouldn't repair or replace the fridge as we lived an hour out of town and it was too far for a serviceman to visit. Not happy, as we paid $500 extra thinking it was a better brand than the Korean fringes. But other than that it keeps thing cold. A bit annoying that you need to open both doors to open the vegetable door. Defeats the purpose of French doors. Wouldn't buy a F&P again.

Great fridge!
A little concerned about reviews pre and post purchase as we've never had a problem with this fridge. The fruit and veggie crisper are fantastic- produce lasts a lot longer than with our previous fridge. We've had this almost two years and very happy. highly recommend this product- looks great too!

Such a good fridge
I bought this from Harvey Norman during the discount season. The reason I bought this is the huge space it has. And also this brand is famous in Australia. The temperature can be customised so I don't really worry about the the funiction part. It's a bit hard to clean for the reason of its big storage space.

Fridge professionally installed. Ice being made, but zero out of the water dispenser. Have depressed dispenser for 2 mins+ to remove air, and checked hose is not kinked, and the tap turned on (note, ice being made so no problem there). Why is the water not working at all?
