IW812 had Fault code 37 and in a Diagnostic mode the Pump was not pumping out, changed the diverter valve, now it pumps out in the diagnostic mode but in normal operation, it seems stuck in the recirculating mode and won't drain. I have checked the Pump and the drain hose all good. Any ideas?

I had this same problem. Machine would say power cut every few minutes on the spin and rinse cycle then it wouldn't turn on at all. I had to get a fisher and Paykel service man to come in. $250 for the part + inspection. I believe it was the mother board and the water pump. Would be best to ring them. They said they is a rare problem, however that must be a lie because so many have reported this problem. Hope this helps

I've had an error 49 which ended up being controller board based. So replaced the board (420093 SD11) with an SD12 board, connected it all up except for diverter harness, since my SD11 board never had this. (Australia based by the way). Ran a test cycle and came up with Error 51, diverter fault. So....what do I do, since I never had this diverter in the first place, so nowhere to connect this "new" harness ???

Due to the risk of injury or even death, Fisher & Paykel strongly recommend that servicing electrical appliances be carried out only by suitably qualified persons and as such we are unable to supply you with the technical information you have requested.

The electrical appliance industry in Australasia has gone to great lengths over the last few years to try and reduce the amount of injuries and deaths caused by non-qualified persons attempting to carry out their own electrical repairs, by introducing laws making it illegal to carry out these repairs.

Fisher & Paykel are firm supporters of the message that electrical authorities are spreading. By supplying technical diagrams and service manuals to the unqualified person, Fisher & Paykel may be held responsible in the event an accident was to occur as the result of an incompetent repair. In no way are we questioning your own ability to undertake these types of repairs, however our policy must apply to all with no exceptions.

We have our own Authorised repairers who receive up-to-date information and technical bulletins regarding our specific appliances. If you would like to schedule a technician to attend to your appliance, please call our 24-hour Customer Care Centre on 1300 650 590. A Customer Representative will be able to assist you with service in your area.

I love my Fisher & Paykel Intuitive top loading washing machine. Model 812. Last 2 days it has become extremely noisy when spinning, think it might be the tub bearing. Where can I find a manual for this machine parts and schematics? Thanks in advance, hope you still answer on this page.

Hi there, just a question is it noisy in spin dry mode as well or just when it has finished washing and is draining off the water as well as spinning? As the water pump might be the noisy culprit!

Lesley
Lesley

Hi Stricko - Thank you so much for responding to my question. We figured it was definitely the bearings. I managed to find a manual online for the washing machine, so we dismantled the machine, got new bearings and replaced then ourselves. It now runs quietly like it used to. We replaced the water pump (again ourselves) about a year ago and that is still fine. Once again, thank you for taking the time to respond to my question, much appreciated.

Remove the items from the bowl and rearrange the load so that the clothes are distributed evenly around the bwl. You may need to select a higher water level for the load size. or it may have all moved to one side of the bowl.

Can you tell me what Fault Code 9 relates to please?

1 answer
jberth
jberth

From the manual for fault code 9 :

'9. (0001001) Size Switch Sensor

The display size switch setting does not match that stored in the memory.

Primary Source – Display Module 2 & 3
Action – If the display module for phase 2 or 3 has just been inserted into a console housing than check that the two size switch plungers accurately locate onto the console housing. If this fault has appeared during normal operation of the machine, check the size switch or replace the Display Module.
Action Phase 2 & 3
If the Motor Controller has been changed from one size machine to another, than the size switch setting in the memory will have to be reset. This can be done by entering and exiting the Option Adjustment Mode. Push and hold START/PAUSE then push POWER button.
Action Phase 4
Reselect the size of the machine by using the SIZE SETTING MODE. Push and hold the water temp up button then press the power button, to select the size of the machine push the temperature up button until the cold LED is on for 5kg machines, push the water level up button until the low water LED is on for the 6kg machine and push the spin speed up LED for the 7kg.'

Fault Code 37..What it means?

I have no idea.

ianyoung77

37. (00100101) Phase 1 to 6 - Pump Blocked Error (No
Change in the Water Level)
While draining, the water level reading from the pressure sensor has
not changed for over 3 minutes. There are three likely reasons for this
fault. One is that the drain hose or the pressure switch hose has been
squashed or kinked and the pump out rate has been dramatically
reduced. The second possibility is that the pump is partially or fully
blocked. The third is that the pump is not operating due to Motor
Control Module, wiring or pump failure. This fault could also appear if
the SmartDrive is pumping to an unusually high head of drain hose or
into an extended length of drain hose. The fourth possibility is a
diverter valve fault or blockage. The water level is not altering as the
diverter is stuck in the recirculation mode, giving the module the
appearance the pump is not lowering the water level.
Primary Source: Pump System.
Action: 1. Check that the drain hose has not been
kinked.
2. Check the length of the drain hose and try to
reduce the length if excessively long. A 1
metre extension hose of the same diameter
fitted to the existing drain hose is the
maximum allowable length.
3. Check for open circuit windings in the pump.
(Note: Pumps are fitted with a thermal cut-out
that will reset on cooling.)
4. If the bowl is empty of water, remove the
pump from the pump housing and check that
it is not blocked. Also check the drain hose is
not blocked.
5. If the bowl contains water, then service the
pump from the top of the SmartDrive by
removing the top deck and inner bowl. Bail
out the water, remove the pump cap and hood
and clear the restriction.
Secondary Source: Wiring.
Action: 1. Check the pump harness is connected
correctly to the pump.
2. Check continuity of the pump harness.
30
Tertiary Source: Motor Control Module.
Action: Activate the pump by operating the SmartDrive
in spin mode. Check the pump is rotating. If it
is not operating, and Primary and Secondary
checks have been performed, then replace the
Motor Control Module.
Note: Consider fitting Pump Hood Kit (Technical
Bulletin WM013). If 5kg SmartDrive, fit splash
guard to pump.
Quaternary Source: Diverter Valve failure (Phase 5 and 6 Eco’s).
Action: Check the diverter valve, see fault code 51.
