Don’t buy
Recently purchased this model. This machine will automatically start to empty after 3minutes if you have to put it on pause which is a real nuisance I even turned the machine off but it stilled emptied. Also can’t set for a hot wash on certain cycles.I recommend you don’t purchase this model and find out which other F&P do the same before purchasing. All my other F&P machines which weren’t this model absolutely perfect no trouble at all

Great Machine
Having owned a 8.5 kg Fisher Paykel top loader for some 15 years we didn’t hesitate to buy this machine so glad we did, easy to use controls washes exceptionally well, all types of clothes, yet to wash a large item sure it will handle it Ok Very Happy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ok machine when it works, but so many problems with it!
Bought this machine a couple of months ago and have had issues ever since.
It gets about 10 minutes into the wash cycle, and will then continually beep until you press pause, and start again.
It seems as though the "lid lock" mechanism is faulty. However, sometimes it will do the complete wash cycle and other times it won't.
We have contacted Fisher & Paykel, and they have said we will need to organise to fix this ourselves.
Another downside is that there is no lint filter.
When it actually works the wash isn't too bad. It's a shame it's been so faulty.

Started off great but quickly went downhill, now next to useless just out of warranty (of course)
Have used Fisher & Paykel appliances for many years previously but they seem to be going down hill with additional electronics they claim are 'smart' but really just create problems and I suspect are engineered for built in obsolescence - seems way too convenient the majority of issues develop at the warranty close out. We've wasted so much water and detergent because the machine wash cycles are now not working at all - wash cycles don't fill to the set water levels, then skips through the run times randomly, cycles don't complete, partly fills...Read more
then drains and spins out. Give me the old rotary controls any day. Not good enough for a $1000 appliance. A real shame as it was good for the type of washing we needed done but the unpredictability of it and outrageous costs to repair have left permanently damaged my view on Fisher & Paykel as a quality brand.Similar opinion? Perfect Machine
All Fisher and Paykel washing machines are fantastic. I bought my new one late last year after having my previous one for 13 years. I wouldn't buy anything other than a Fisher and Paykel as the old one gave me no trouble right up to the last. I have a family of 7 so we have quite a bit of washing and we use most cycles.

What a disappointment
Ok, so I'm on my second one within the space of a week as F&P were good enough to agree there could be a fault, so good on them for that. Not sure if they have manufactured a faulty batch or what, but the second one seems to have the same issues as the first.
1 Seems to be a fault with the lid lock where it constantly does not lock when its supposed to during the wash cycle. You can go out to do your shopping or whatever and when you get back the machine is stuck in the wash cycle beeping madly with the warning lid open, even though it's not...Read more
. Push the start/pause button to reactivate the lid lock and it seems to go back to the beginning of the wash again, so frustrating and time-consuming. Personally, I would rather not have a lid lock at all, and while I understand the reasoning behind the idea of protecting families with young children, there are no longer any young children in this household. It would be good to have the option of disabling it permanently for those of that don't want it! 2 Also, I'm having a problem with the machine continually going "Out of Balance". The machine is totally level in all directions and is solid on the floor with no rocking whatsoever. Again you can be out doing your business to come home expecting the load to be finished but you hear the warning beep and you already know it either is going to be lid open or out of balance warning. I have been into the option adjustment mode to turn off the out of balance automatic recovery, but it seems to turn itself back on again each time you turn the machine on to do another load. Lastly, I would just like to add that I don't think it's that great at actually cleaning the clothes the way you would want and expect. Have had further frustrations with a load today where it seems to get towards the end of the final spin cycle with about 5 minutes left on the timer and then goes back to the rinse stage again with 16 or 18 minutes on the clock. I watched this happen at least 3 times before I finally turned the power off and on again to advance the wash to the final spin to finally watch it do what it is meant to do. I am so over this washing machine.1 comment
I'm still having major issues with our WA1068G1 and am so surprised that F&P don't seem to monitor this site, or if they were to comment perhaps they would be admitting to there being a major fault.

High maintenance cost
Purchased this machine 3.5 years ago. It now on the 3rd agitator at $92.00 each. Agitator has 3 "fins" near the bottom that swish the water and clothes around while washing. After a while the fins break off. Without the fins the agitator rotates back and forth but doesn't actual do any washing.
F&P refuse to acknowledge the problem as a defect.
January 2nd 2022 Update: Horrible machine.
Purchased for normal household use in washing ordinary clothes like shirts, jeans, socks, etc.
The agitator has broken twice in two years.
Cold water valve started leaking after only one year.
F&P won't cover replacement parts or labour.

Fantastic machine
For a large family this is the perfect machine-it takes big loads, cleans exceptionally well and is very quiet. You do need to buy an optional lint filter as it washes so well you will be left with lots on your clothes if you don't have the filter(can get from manufacturer or eBay). -once you have the filter you will be amazed at what comes off your clothes in an everyday wash! It's a little confusing at first but if you want to advance your wash or just spin dry you need to go through each part of the cycle and highlight (or unhighlight) what you want the machine to do. I love this washing machine and would certainly recommend it.

Useless machine
Hate it! Does not wash anything properly and leaves heaps of lint. I've tried washing every way you could think and still not clean. Have to wash everything twice and clothes still not 100% clean. Don't waste your money on this machine. Praying it breaks so I can get a different machine. Absolutely useless!

Four Star? What for?
Purchased as it was a 4 star machine. What a joke. Does not wash well and regardless of how it is programmed it changes the program to barely any water. There is really no point in washing clothes to clean them in this machine. Washing becomes ridiculously tangled and misshaped in machine and it is easily off balanced. Worst machine I have used in 40 years of using washing machines!

No fluff filter!
i love that it has a big choice of cycles to choose from but it has no filter to catch the fluff so it ends up stuck to your clothes! I followed the instructions as to turning garments inside out if they are lint collectors but to no avail, still gets fluff on them!

Dose a great job on stained cloths
I work as a car repair work shop and always get very dirty and oily but we've had this unit for over a year and have to say it's done a lot better than the unit we had before. It's easy to load, set and walk away then come back once it's done and unload

Terrible
I went from a front loader to this top loader and I am disappointed! So much lint, doesn't wash properly, is very loud when spinning and often I am rewashing my clothes or spending hours a week getting lint off with a lint brush! It has damaged many t-shirts, making them out of shape and putting holes in them. It is great for quilts because of the size but that's the only positive. I am going back to a front loader this is awful!

Lint lint lint lint lint everywhere.
Who designs a washing machine without a proper lint filter? Lint through every wash. I can do a clean cycle with no clothes and still lint in the next wash. Error code "sud loc" every wash even when doing a clean with NO detergent. Towels all torn up. I hate this damn machine.

Love love love this washing machine
This has been a great washing machine for our large family. We have had it for about 3 years and do at least 2 loads a day in it. It’s needed a couple of parts replacing from time to time but nothing major and hardly surprising, given it is so heavily used. Clothes come out clean and the agitator prevents tangling. We love this washing machine (it’s a million times better than the front loader it replaced) - can not recommend highly enough.

Fisher and Paykel is a top brand of washing machine, I have had others but I wouldn't buy anything but a Fisher and Paykel.
