Life made a little Easier
As a family of 6 this machine is a necessity. It's touch pad is simple to operate, it's capacity means we can empty our washing baskets in one wash, saving both time and water. It adjusts easily to heavy loads of towels and delicates like dresses and underwear. When we were looking to replace our previous machine, which our family had outgrown, we again chose Fisher and Paykel.

Best washer ever
To clean machine &stop sludge put baking soda (carb soda) 1/2 approx through machine each week with white vinegar 1cup. I did this with my last machine & it kept it clean for 12 years. It has only just died and I have replaced it with a f&p wa8560g1 today. If this does the same job I will be very happy indeed.

Quiet, efficient and reliable washing machine
My previous washing machine was a 7.5kg Simpson. I intended buying another Simpson in a bigger size for my growing family but the salesman drew my attention to the Fisher & Paykel. At first I wasn't keen on changing from a brand I already knew, but he quickly won me over with the F&P's benefits. For a start, it's quite a small machine for one with a decent 8.5kg capacity. Space is limited in my laundry and I couldn't buy a washer that was physically too large, or my back door would not be able to open. So the F&P was a great option for fitting ...Read more
in a tight space. The F&P also has much shorter wash times compared to my old machine - a normal wash used to take 1 hour and 17 minutes but now takes only 47 minutes in my new machine. There are numerous wash options - regular, heavy, delicate, wool, allergy and quick. You can also select your own water level, or leave it on Auto for the machine to select the most efficient level. Wash temp options are warm, hot and cold but there are numerous variations you can choose, such as "warm/cold". The spin speed options go up to 1000 which is great for spinning heaps of water from your clothes and thereby reducing drying time. There are two rinse options - soak and eco rinse - and you can also select just rinse and spin, or just spin, for items that you may have washed by band. The lid locks during certain parts of the cycle, where it may be dangerous for the lid to be opened, but if you do need to open the lid, you simply press pause and when the lid is safe to open, it will unlock. The washer's controls are unable to be reached by small children (a necessary feature missing from some Asian-made machines). There is a delay start option and a handy number display to tell you how many minutes remain in the current wash before it's done. The washer is so quiet that sometimes I think it's finished already so I go into the laundry to check and find that it's just happily and quietly doing it's job. :) One of the best features of the machine that ultimately made my decision for me is that the centre agitator (which had long been a source of frustration for me when I had to clean my old machine) is easily removed and can then be hosed down outside. I could never understand why other machine's agitators were so narrow and could not fit an average adult-size arm down it to get the cleaning done. But this F&P washer is not only wide enough to fit your arm down, there is a bolt at the bottom that you simply unscrew to remove the entire thing. I have had my washer for about 2 months and have not needed to clean it yet but I know it is going to be super easy when it's time. The only downside to the machine is that once it has finished, it will beep to tell you (either 5 beeps or 15 beeps) but then that's it. My previous machine beeped every 5 minutes until I went to turn it off (very handy feature if you're busy and need the reminder to hang the washing out) but unfortunately this F&P washer just beeps as soon as it's done and then that's it. Overall this is a fantastic washer - 9.5 out of 10. It would have gotten 10 out of 10 if it had a continuous beep feature once the cycle was finished.Similar opinion? A washing machine for dummies
This washing machine has been the easiest i have ever used. It self cleans and is very quiet. Once programmed to my personal setting its as easy as pressing on and start for each load.
The price was also very fair and came with a good warranty. Definitely 5 stars.

Washes Well
Purchased the WA8560G1 Fisher and Paykel to replace previous one that had broken down. This is my 3rd F&P in 25 years however the 2nd didn't last anywhere near as long as the 1st,. but I love how these machines operate so didn't want a different brand. Some annoying new safety features however have been introduced. One being if you press the pause button to unlock the lid and check the wash during a cycle and touch pause again to restart, it immediately starts to drain some of the water out and then refills. Also, if you pause it without openin...Read more
g the lid, and it's longer than 3 minutes, it will also start to drain. I understand their safety precautions but it's such a waste of water. Only giving 4 stars because of this. Since I first wrote this review I have had F&P replace the computer board with an updated version at their cost and now I can pause and restart without it starting over again. So now giving 5 starsSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love it!
Excellent cleaning, good selection of wash cycles, easy use, love the count-down timer & ability to set up to 9 hrs ahead, helps so much with busy lives. Also the size is better now being taller and doesn't stick out as much in the laundry so I feel it made the laundry bigger. I would definitely recommend this machine.

Don't trust Fisher and Paykel Machine anymore
I have a machine that is only 7 months old and it stopped working due to a faulty board, its been 2 weeks and I still haven't had it fixed yet. I have had the most appalling service from the call centre, they cant give any time frames on when it's going to be fixed and I have had to follow up with them for information on what it going on when they should be calling me. F & P use to be a trusted brand I would not ever go near it ever again.

Good but agitator fins breaking constantly.
Washes clothes well, only problem is that the agitator fins break off. Have relpaced the agitator for the third time now, wont be buying again as this shouldnt be happening.
Other than that, functions are easy to use, no problems with washing wools or delicates using the settings. I have found that they dont last for daily use more than 8 years max.

Can't fault it so far
We bought this having had Fisher Paykel recommended by our washing machine repair man. We had had our previous top-loader for 29 years but it finally died.
This one is brilliant-so easy to use, and quiet too. 8.5kg is a good size. No need to set water levels or anything - push a few buttons and off you go. We've only had it for abut 2 months so can't comment on lint problems.

Do not buy terrible
Automatic lint removal/disposal is a blatant lie, since the very first wash this machine has generated excessive amounts of lint.
I've tried different load sizes, different detergents but the lint still remains.
I wish I read a few reviews before wasting my money on this piece of crap, I've read dozens of reviews from people that have the same problem.
Fisher & Paykel sell an optional lint filter for this machine, it should be included!

Great machine
Only had machine for a month now but so far so good. Easy to use, (kids and hubby can use too). Automatically adjusts the water level to the amount if clothes. looks good as it has the glass top, clothes are clean, spin dry helps clothes dry quicker. Had a front loader before. I enjoy the quicker washes and able to add clothes. I went for the 5 year warranty option.

A vast improvement
After a bad experience with the F & P AquaSmart it was a leap of faith to purchase another one of their machines.
So far the experience has been very positive. The machine washes thoroughly and leaves the clothes lint free and quite dry. It was easy to install and is simple to use - changing wash times and settings is a breeze.

Excellent washer except for annoying compulsory 'clean me' cycle every 3 months
Excellent wash performance, cannot really fault any specific feature - not noisy, reasonable time of wash, good clean result. The one thing that annoys me is the 'clean me' cycle which you MUST do every 100 washes. Since I wash my family's clothes every day, this means I have to perform this clean me every 3 months. I find it a great waste of hot water (water and electricity), washing powder, and time (takes 3 hours). Since my clothes are minimally soiled and almost fluff free, machine should be smarter and let me do the clean up less often.

Solid & Reliable!
We purchased another Fisher & Paykel because we were so very pleased with the performance and outcome of their previous model which we had for about 9 years. The 8.5 kg is larger and easily accommodates large bedding items. It operates quietly and efficiently. We would recommend Fisher & Paykel washing machines as we personally have purchased 3 over the years and have found them to be hassle-free.

Very happy with this machine
After 15 years my old machine died and that brand machine was no longer available, so I spent several hours on Google reading reviews of different brand & model machines and the outcome was that a large majority of people were not happy with their brand & model machine.
I discovered the top recommended brands which included Fisher & Paykel and I and hubby went shopping feeling very concerned of will I purchase a model machine that will suit my expectations !!!!
We decided to purchase this model which had just been released the previous day, h...Read more

Brilliant!
Have had this machine now for 4 weeks - am very impressed with the size load it takes, the end product (clothes always clean) and how quiet it is. No lint issues on dark clothes a huge bonus (after Simpsons disaster). Very happy with this purchase from the Good Guys.

RIDICULOUS - NO LINT FILTER
Washes well. Arrived broken - had to get warranty repair to lid lock as machine would not work from straight out of the box. No lint filter - supposed to be self cleaning. 16 months on - I have just had to pay $190 to get the lint cleaned from a blocked pump. Apparently the lint filters are sold as an extra part - how ridiculous - F&P - why don't you just put them in the machine - would save a lot of grief and unnecessary repair. Looks like I'm going to have to part with some more hard earned cash to prevent the problem happening again. Annoyed that the filter was not in the machine in the first place,

The best there is
We have used this machine for 5 years now at our caravan park and it really gets used constantly and has never ever given us any problems. Would buy again without a second thought.
Most reliable machine there is.
It has only one small fault. The agitator could be designed better as parts of the bottom fins can break off.

Fantastic Machine
Since I'm quick to post a review when I'm unhappy about something, I thought it only fair to take the time to post something when I'm thrilled with it. This F & P 8.5kg washing machine is totally brilliant. Quiet (after initial fill), quick and cleans clothes perfectly. I returned to a top loader after having a front loader for years and am very glad I did. Clothes come out so much cleaner (can't beat the agitator) and drier than they did in my old machine. Makes drying time on the clothes line much shorter, very important in the house I'm...Read more
currently renting since they thought it would be a good idea to put the clothes line in the shade! Can't fault the F & P. My Mum said I wouldn't regret buying this machine and mothers are always right!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
