The machine will not spin, even when I redistribute a small amount of clothes.. makes a very loud knocking sound and out of balance. How do I replace the shockers?
1 answer
You could try Resetting the machine. Your manual should describe where the Reset button is. Or you could take out all the cloths and start from the beginning again. Hope this helps.. I wouldn’t have a clue on how to go about replacing the shockers.

Washer 4 years old smart wash keeps going off balance any reasons obviously the clothes are bundled up but never used to do this does it routinely neighbour has same washer same age and hers has started doing same thing????

Our F&P washing machine (WA8560G1) is now doing the same thing - now stops due to "out of balance" numerous times each load - I suspect the suspension rods may need replacing. Machine is not that old (out of warranty) and I would have thought the suspension rods should have lasted a little longer. With time off due to the current health crisis, I have some time to investigate and replace if necessary - replacement seems straight forward once new suspension rods are purchased.
It is problem apparently well known for it my neighbour got a technician and think he replaced 2 having same problem

Why does the water smell? Once it’s filled up a few minutes it recycles the water mixed with the detergent from a different fill nozzle and the smells is terrible. I’m not sure if the water below in the pump is sitting there from the last wash (not completely draining) the fresh water from taps does not smell. Is it normal for your washing machine to not drain completely? It’s a top loader so I’m not sure how to check the pump to see if it’s draining completely but if you push the machine you can hear water moving.

Sometimes the pump can be clogged with all sorts of things such as bobby pins, lollipop sticks and even the wire from under the bra. These can affect the function of the machine and residual water in the drum after the cycle. The pump can easily removed and checked for blockages. There may be damage to the impeller and this can be visualised when the pump is removed. The drum itself may need to be removed and have a total clean of the machine as it maybe that an old sock may be rotting in the unit. Good luck with it.
Thank you

I bought this washing machine late January 2020 to replace a F&P Smartdrive washing machine that I'd had for over 20years. The new machine is ok but it always beeps and flashes "no hot" when filling even though the hot water tap is obviously on. I have to pause and unpause to overcome this issue and it resets and starts again. This has been happening as since the second time I used it. This is becoming very frustrating as I have to wait around to pause/unpause to reset. My husband has checked the tap hose and it is fine. The load is hot at the end of the cycle so I can't understand why this is happening. Apart from this the machine works well. What can I do to try and fix this?

Hi, I have a Wash Smart 7kg washing machine (Model: WA70T60GW1) which has worked fine for some time however it now won't progress to the Rinse cycle. I have tried all the recommended fixes to no avail. I am continually getting three lights when it stops, the middle light on the wash cycle (light 3 of 5), the first light of the Rinse Cycle (from Left) and the Spin Cycle light (only one). Does anyone know what it means?

Our washsmart keeps coming up with an unbalanced error but we can't see why. We have re balanced as per the instructions but it is still doing it. I'm wondering if something has got itself lodged under the bowl, not sure though. Can anyone shed any light?

How to size new control board for wa8060g1
1 answer
I don't understand this question? You can call Fisher & Paykel if your machine is under warranty & they will organise a service guy to come to your house, they order the new control board.

Can I fill or partially fill my washsmart washing machine by container as a water shortage in tank supply but can access water elsewhere into containers. Thanks for help in advance.
1 answer
I’m not an expert C.J but you got me curious. I wish to save water too so I use water from my pool which I use as a storage tank. So after reading your question I took to test. Now my washing machine has 4 settings “Auto Hi Med Low”. I think that Auto is by weight not water pressure or time because everybody’s water pressure is different. So I turned my washer on and let it ‘Auto’ fill. Meanwhile I added water from my pool at the same time. (I guess by weight) the machine stopped filling.
To confirm this, I only filled the machine with pool water from a bucket. I closed the lid and it began to wash.
So to make a short answer long, YES is my suggestion to your question. But it depends on your fill level setting that you set. If you set it ti ‘Low’ then fill it to that mark or more (those level marks are on my agitator) Low Med High. ‘Auto’ should sense it with the weight of your clothes plus the water added.
Throw your clothes in, add your detergent, then cover with water from buckets. Set to Auto, if no go then ‘Low’ ... and work your way up until it starts.
Tip: never start your machine if the water level is under your clothes level. Always cover, plus more, your clothes with water.
PS: sometime the lid will lock so simply override this by pressing stop start stop start or pause mode until it unlocks.
Hope this helps

With WA8560E what's the procedure for spinning only, if you've hand washed some clothes and just want a short spin?
2 answers
Set the auto dial to Handwash, Auto, cold, slow, (options 0ff) Spin. Timer should show 6 mins... Start.
Hi Tomo, thanks for your reply, but our machine is the WashSmart Eco 8.5kg model and it doesn't have a dial as such - it's all press-button. And it doesn't seem to have a button which indicates "handwash" Not sure where to now?! Perhaps you can expand on your advice. Many thanks.

Our machine forwards the timer as it starts on wash cycle. In regular wash of 55 minutes, immediately after a minute of starting timer jumps to 49 minutes and then the wash cycle is stuck at 27 minutes. It does not move to Rinse cycle. No error code on machine. Can anyone help us with any solution.
Thanks in advance.

How do you stop lint build up on clothes?
1 answer
I have only had this machine for one month so I don't have that problem as yet. I asked the salesman before I bought my machine about an extra filter. He said there is a built in filter so no need to put in another one.
