My towels are coming out very matted and are drying very stiff in my new front loader. I just use the everyday wash on cold. Can anyone help?

I personally am using cotton 40 degrees with towels and I don’t have this issue. I would be thinking it might be the wash powder though? Don’t know what you use but I use omo sensitive. I also put vinigar in the rinse compartment to help get the detergents out. Bi-carb or magnesium can also help soften, I use bicarbonate with my sons nappies. Don’t know why they would come out so different with this machine though, hope it’s not a problem with the machine itself for you... you could also try adding an extra rinse at the end of the wash. Good luck.
Hi
I had the same problem. Did some research on internet as it is my first front loader. Now I only wash my towels in Bi carb Soda and put vinegar in the rince compartment. I select everyday wash which Is warm wash not cold. They have improved but never at soft as top loader.

What is error 37? It’s just come up on my machine and it’s full of water and won’t drain!
1 answer
Unfortunately no. Long and ridiculously loud spin cycle and burning smell. apparently the bearing has failed in mine. 10 days and they still haven’t collected machine. 10 working days from when they do do at a minimum I should be without a machine for a month. The call center thinks this is fine. Fair trading on the other hand.

Draining hose is on right side of machine. Laundry tub is on the left and hose doesn't reach. Doesn't say anywhere in product information that hose is specifically right side for emptying. What to do? hasn't been used yet!!
3 answers
get an extendable pce of hose with a clamp on it put on end of your washing machine hose and it should reach over to left side where your laundry tub is apart from that perhaps a plumber could assist you I have no idea
Thank you for taking the time to respond :)
Get another hose and clamp together to make hose longer - Make sure clamps are tight so no water leaks at join. My tub is on left - no problem!

Our washing machine has been nothing but trouble since we go it 3 months ago. Error 74 keeps coming up. There is no correspondence regarding this error. We have had the Fisher Paykell technician come out and he was useless. He pulled the machine out - drilled another hole in our cabinetry and told my husband what he needed to do to fix it. And then left. My husband has done all he can do with the machine as per advice from the technician and it’s still doing error 74 - even when we turn the machine on to start a load - without even clothes being in the machine. There has to be something to fix the machine. our only option is to contact Fisher Paykell again see if it’s a manufacturing issue and get a new machine. Far from impressed! Has anyone got any suggestions!!!!

So sorry to hear that Meagan about your washing machine I actually contacted FPaykel head office before purchasing our latest washing machine to grill them as to our rights etc. This sounds like it is definitely a manufacturing problem and as its under 6 months old FP head office should definitely replace it. I would also get onto the OFFICE OF FAIR TRADING you can send a letter of complaint to Fpaykel they have 10 days to rectify the situation if not resolved then contact OFT they will step in take over and start proceedings and try to resolve this situation for you. Best of luck
My new washing machine does this too, and is the same model, does this every time i use it
bought at Christmas time
The technician came out again - replaced the pressure switch and also the complete front panel. Machine is now working fine.

We just bought a new one, and its giving us err 13? Please, any help?
2 answers
Sorry can't tell you that as I have never had it come up, only the door lock error. You are going to have to ring the distributers on that one or try an online forum, I guess.
That's a new one, to the best of my knowledge there is no error 13 on these washers.

Bought this washine machine and have read reviews that its quiet but I find mine is nit that quiet at all :( I couldnt tell if its defective or its normal noise. Please help.
3 answers
Mine is super quiet. When I was looking for a new washing machine the main criteria was it had to be quiet as my old one was so loud. I viewed the test results on the Choice magazine website and it was listed as the quietest one in the category. I'm very happy with it. I don't know if yours is a dodgy one. Maybe you can get someone to have a look at it?
Depends on 'not quiet'
There no motor noise due to brushes on other machines.
When installed correctly the only noise is the water sloshing during wash.
If it is not seated level, feet not solid on floor etc can all cause extraneous noises.
Did you remove the transit bolts? The salesperson told me that if they weren’t removed then the machine will be noisy and jump all over the place.
Mine is super quiet.

Is there a guide to how much you can put in it?
1 answer
Depends on the items towels been heaviest when wet about half to 3/4 full. Ours has a bulky cycle so we can do our quilt but it is light dacron. My work clothes are all light so i can fill it almost i just leave room for my arm to push in. They have a 24/7 hot line and they do answer pretty much straight away plus you can google your manual if you know product key. Mine has loading on pg 23. Basicly if its synthetic can load a lot if its cotton has to be on right cycle as our machine auto senses weight. Hope that helps

Hello
My 2.5 year old front loader has this loud deep sounding noise like galloping horses when on spin. When empty, if I move the drum I can feel a lumpy feel ie it is not a smooth turn.
Thoughts please.
Mark
5 answers
That’s a bit odd for only 2.5 years of usage. If you over loaded your washing frequently then that might explain why you have this issue. This sounds like drum support or spider.
Thank you for your answer Tom. The sound and feel when I turn the drum is not a grinding metallic sound but more like a rubber or dense plastic sound and feel. Could I eliminate a bearing issue do you think. You suggest it might be a spider or drum support. I don't know what a spider is - any way to test either of these things. I don't really know what I am doing but will give it a go.
Thanks
Mark
Had a similar issue with the previous model 2y 3m old, it feels like a little bit of resistance when turning the drum by hand and the machine made the sound as if something was stuck between the drum and outer tub, it ended up being the bearing and seal.

Can this washing machine sit on a purpose built drawer? The installation instructions say it must not be installed and operated on a plinth but if the feet are placed on the top of the drawer (which has slightly raised borders), is this ok?
3 answers
Please contact manufacturer...
Fisher and Paykel recommend not putting it on a plinth, what you do with it is up to you :)
Regrettably have decided not to purchase this machine which sounded just what I wanted but husband says it is too low for his back to cope with.

Hi. You better call the company. Looks like something is loose or may be it is not balanced on floor.

Where can i get a drainage hose extender for this machine? Rang F&P and was told they don't have them for this model?

We have bought WH8560P2, a week ago from JB HiFi. We can not trust that machine is going to finish its cycle. As soon as we back from work there is error 12 on display and some times error 74 on display or machine is off with unfinished wash. Error gets clear when we press Start/Pause, what a crap? I spend around $1000 for ease of our life on weekends, not for unexpected surprises. Is there any solution other than replacing this one with Bosch or Siemens?

Get f & p to send out service tech. I wasn't totally happy with mine, but just needed a few tweaks & is awesome now. Fantastic washer! Service guy was great, very helpful & fixd it really fast.
Call an F&P service tech.

Just got our wh8560p2 and put a first load through. 2 questions-
1) should the door latch 'pin' line up with the hole exactly or do you need to lift slightly for it to close?
2) during spin it rattles loudly, if I slightly touch the metal cover plate on back, the sound disappears.
1 answer
Update- service technician came within a few days & was a simple matter of lining screws up better in the door hinge. Also the rattle was resolved by re-adjusting the feet at bottom & tightening the feet locks. Also tightened the screws on back panel. Now it works like a dream & gifhlt recommend it! Very happy with the purchase!

When selected the 12 minutes SPIN selection my new washer stuck/kept on running and flashing at "11minutes" remaining. Not sure why? Any help/suggestion?

Although I have not experienced this on mine I have a the same machine that had heavy duty use in a communal situation. It just kept on going.... it turned out to be a programming issue in the knob mechanism.

there is a receptacle for liquid in the left hand side of our wh8560p2 my wife put washing powder in the right hand receptacle. is that ok?

Hi
I purchased a WH8560P2 two months ago and would appreciate feedback on two observations:
I) the spin cycle is so strong (even on 500 or 800) that my machine moves quite a bit, sometimes one or two inches. Any suggestions on how to stop the machine moving out of position?
ii) towels and some soft cotton clothes are coming out quite firm and not soft - I didn't use fabric softner with my previous top loader so am loathe to start now. Any suggestions on cycles or detergents that are better for this issue?
thank you!
3 answers
Hello,
(1) Not sure why yours is moving so much. I have read this is other reviews, but it has not happened to my machine. I noticed on some cycle such as the Quick cycle, it does dry spin more violently than the normal cycle. However I haven't had any problems with the machine moving an inch or two.
(2) For all my clothes and towels, I use liquid detergent - not powder. I also add a third (quantity) of the recommended softener. I haven't noticed the towels coming out more firm, but I did notice they are coming out "dryer" than my old top loader washing machine.
Don't think I have helped much, but I haven't experienced any of your problems as yet.
Are you still having this issue? Mine shook & rattled when it was new but the service agent tightened up all the feet. Even though it was sitting perfectly level, the feet locks hadn't been screwed back up to secure them enough. Now it doesn't budge. I find the towels come out harder, the stronger the spin cycle is? Lower spin cycle, fluffier towels... Hope this helps :)
Really appreciate this response, thank you! We have managed to resolve the moving issue, but still having stiff towel issue. I'll try your suggestion.
