This machine is a total nightmare! I HATE this machine!
It is now 5 1/2 years old and is a total nightmare. Initially it wasn't too bad but then it started being constantly off-balance. As it has become older it has become worse. I have to readjust each load 8-9 times and it takes me hours just to do one load. I had a repairman out to look at it a few months ago but there was no improvement.
I have previously owned Fisher & Paykel machines and have had no issues with them. Are the other models still okay? Is this the only dud model? I'll have to buy another machine because I just can't handle this one, but do I stick with Fisher & Paykel or look elsewhere? I'd hate to end up with another dud especially when they are so expensive.

Useless
This machine is the worst I have ever had in over 50 years. You have to wash everything on Bulky to get enough water to wash properly . Then u have to start again to rinse so you get enough water to rinse. So Nearly 2 hours later u have finished. If only they put a water level button in might have helped. Other machine have them. Clothes come out looking like creased rags. They have put a front load machine into a top load without adding a water level button. Absolutely the worst useless machine ever. Do not buy. Tried to exchange but goodguys refused Yet they do for others.
Purchased in October 2021 for $1,300.00.

Leaves lint all over clothes, leaks and doesnt spin on anything but lowest setting
This machine has a lifespan of about 3 years, after that it leaks, and doesnt spin on anything other than lowest setting. Apart from this, from new, there were problems, the machine has no removable filter so no matter what you wash it will have lint on it, Even the highest setting of water doesnt soak the material sufficiently as its still 10cms below the clothes level. You have to put an additional rinse time of 33 mins to actually get your clothes clean, so claims of water and energy efficiency are woefully incorrect.
Bad buy

never ever to buy it! who like to have my washing machine, give it to you for free!
never washed and cleaned properly, wasting water, wasting my hot water for bowl cleaning!!!
Now I have to manually put out the clothes before draining the water, hand rinse them and put back to spin, terrible!

Not a happy customer
Not the best machine I’ve had unfortunately... find it doesn’t wash properly, had to change from powder to liquid . Winds up pant legs and twist sheets n dish towels to the point they rip
.. would NOT buy it again

Having no agitator is great!
I have a family of 4 sons who are all tradies so I tend to do a LOT of washing. I do not dislike this machine but I fell it is just missing a few things. I would have liked to see an opportunity to change the water level as I do not wash my things with my sons dirty clothes but sometimes I do not have a full load so I waste a lot of water. Unfortunately it is also a little noisier than my old Westinghouse machine. You also have to be careful not to put too much weight on the lid as it made of some sort of acrylic I think.
However, I do love no...Read more

Terrible. A complete lemon.
Was dead on arrival, brand new out of the box. Error 50. Motherboard replaced. Less than a year later, same thing.
4 months after that, same thing.
This machine is a complete and utter lemon, I would strongly recommend you don't buy it.

This Rating is for the service only as I did not like it at all for my needs
I found the built in invisible lint filter was non existent. I had fluff on my clothes all the time every cycle and could do nothing about it.
It WILL auto empty the water without warning if you try to leave your clothes sitting there to soak for a while at any point.
I had to be Rinsing several times as it just does not sufficiently rinse my Clothes. It Just aggravates me more using more power and water. I may as well hand wash. . I need a lint filter and control over the water level. I would never buy another machine that has no agitator...Read more
. The best thing about this machine and purchase is the customer service I have received from Fisher and Paykel. 10/10 for the resolution.. They replaced it when It was faulty and gave me one that was a little bigger had a lint filter and agitator and gives me complete control over the wash choices including the water level and spin speed. I would always buy from a company that strives for its customers satisfaction.Purchased in April 2021 at super centre sunshine coast for $799.00.

This machine is ruining and ripping our clothes and bedding!
My family have had Fisher & Paykel appliances for over 20 years and have always loved them, I myself had an eco intuitive washing machine for 12 years, the computer started to play up flashing on and off so we decided to buy a new one which ended up being the 10kg WA1068P1. I was so excited to get a bigger machine, but have been so let down by this machine, I constantly find lindt all over my clothes and worse than anything this machine has been damaging many towels, linen, and clothes, the fabric is coming out with pilling, buttons are getting...Read more
ripped off, seams are be worn and starting to rip. I have had the machine for 18 months now, I had the fisher and paykel service man out to see the machine and I said this might sound stupid but this machine seems to be damaged our clothes and towels, he said "no, you not the only one, many people are experiencing the same issue, as there is a gap on the edge at the bottom of the machine between the bowl and the wide base of the agitator where items can get caught when the machine is spinning". I personally think the increase in speed during spinning to 1100 has not helped this issue either. This has caused many damaged items and due to the flaw in the machine, I sent an email with images to Fisher & Paykel about some sort of compensation for damage clothing and linen as fisher & paykel are well aware of this flaw in the machine. I didn't hear back for over a week, so I spoke with a someone from an apparently high-level investigations team and they told me they had sent me a return parcel satchel, and that I needed to send them all the damaged items as below, to them for investigation, I asked would I be getting the items back, they said NO. I asked how do I know whether you will compensate me, their response was "we are a big company we won't do that". They said they have had other situations like this and that those people sent their clothes in, I said well isn't their items enough to test then, and they said no. Damages Items: 1 x Sheridan Quilt cover (ripped at the buttons on the bottom) 1 x Sheridan Flat sheet (ripped edging) 1 x Sheridan Fitted Sheet (Ripped)Purchased in July 2021 for $1,388.00.

Worst machine I have ever purchased
I have always had Fisher & Paykel washing machines and always loved them {this is my 4th machine} until I got WL1068P1 10kg machine. I have dropped my usage of washing powder to almost nothing and I still get soap crud on my sheets and dark clothes. My sheets always come out of the machine tangled and almost in knots. The stains never come out even after using a stain spray, my washing never has that new washed smell and feeling. I have always cleaned my washing machine, this one takes 2 hours. I cannot adjust times or water level as everythin...Read more
g is preset. I purchased this new machine as it was larger so I could wash all my doonas and large items, but it takes so long and the items are not very clean, and always tangled I have started taking them back to the dry cleaners and they come back a lot cleaner. BAD machine and I have got it up for sale.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Absolutely pathetic
This machine was bought to replace a Bosch front loader that kept breaking down. This new F&P does not even come close to the results I got with the Bosch. Whites are now dull/grey. Clothes come out with dry patches, and at times still smell as they did prior to being “washed”. I have tried everything from changing detergents, using less and more detergent, different wash options, switching off the high efficiency mode, you name it. Called the tech to come and look at it and they say nothing is wrong with it and to use even less detergent...if ...Read more
I use any less, I may as well not even wash the clothes. Had this for just under 2 months and want my money back! If there is nothing wrong with this machine, then I don’t want it as it is a perfectly working piece of crap.Purchased in February 2021 for $1,350.00.

OVERALL AN EXCELLENT WASHING MACHINE 4 STAR RATING OUT OF 5 IF ONLY IT HAD A LINT FILTER
After owning a Top of the Range Fisher and Paykel washing machine for 15 years and it has been used daily it finally was cost prohibited to be repaired. I did some extensive research as I usually do before committing to buying another washing machine but wanted to stay with Fisher and Paykel due to my previous experience with their product, excellent reputation and build quality.
l was surprised to see all these negative reviews on the Top of the Range Fisher and Paykel CleanSmart washing machine?

My parents bought a new washing machine less than 12 months ago. It broke down the rude technican came out and said cockroach caused the computer to fail. Never heard of such a poor excuse. I have complained to the company as they claim we need to pay for repairs

Huge and efficient
With 4 boys, I have constant washing, and with the size, I can get so much done in one load it is almost ridiculous, I can even fit 2 winter blankets in at one time! The controls are great, large to see, easy to understand, modes for everything you could think of from blanket washing to delicates and everything between, and easy to access places for each detergent, soak agent and fabric softener. Also has a digital timer to tell you exactly how long is left. Washes very well and haven't had a problem with it.

Quality Terrible
Broke down 18 months after purchase, but then started working again. Has just broken down again, 1 month out of 2 yr warrantee period. F&P have offered to replace the mother board free (this tells me that they known the machine was defective from factory) but I need to pay the call out fee for the guy fitting it. So, costing me another 10% of the purchase price 2 years after purchase. That's a joke. The machine replaced a Whirlpool one we had for 20+ years with no breakdowns and only replaced because we thought a new one would be "greener" .... but has turned out to be more of a "lemon" colour. I would really avoid Fisher & Paykel. Why reward Fisher & Paykel for not being a good corporate citizen, and selling junk?

Worst Washing Machine I’ve ever owned
Purchased this washer for its size and energy rating. What a waste of time, the so called eco functions don’t wash your clothes at all. The clothes come out just as dirty as when they went in even with the smallest loads. The only way to get them partially clean is to use the sheet cycle, which defeats the purpose of the energy rating as it uses a heap more water and still doesn’t get the clothes completely clean. They company should be sued for false advertising. Never again will I purchase a Fisher & Payless washer or dryer. They should stick to fridges

Big disappointment
Very disappointed in this machine.
Clothes come out with dry patches, I don’t overload the machine.
Biggest disappointment is the washing of dark clothes.....have tried turning things inside out....tried many different washing products, powder vs liquid, always a mess and need rewashing. Very frustrating.
I have looked through other reviews and notice no reply from the company to anyone’s issues.....I will never buy this brand again.

Best on the market
This has to be the largest washing machine I have used. It doesn't have an agitator, meaning I can place more in the bowl for a better clean and less tangles. It's large enough to wash the biggest of doonas.. it's wells rating is one of the highest and uses less water than our 8kg washer that we had for 10 years. I recommended a friend to buy one and she's happy that she bought it.

Terrible. Rubbish. Don't waste your money.
Where to begin...ok. just under 12 months wrangling with this thing - remember this thing is ALL automatic, no manual control, yes you can change some presets, but that's it. This is a dum-smart machine for dummies.
Water level is beyond poor, making the clothes rub whilst being wound into knots and twisted into ropes. Mechanical bondage isn't my thing. Thus the clothes don't wash properly, get pilling, rip buttons and damage zippers etc. Water and energy efficient? not so much with 2nd and 3rd washes for the load, then there's the wasted ...Read more

Not Good at all, half of my clothes don’t get cleaned
**Updated below on 30 OCT 2018
-even more unhappy now
I’ve had this machine for 4 days, we live on a farm and are a family of 6. Salesman told me this was top of range machine in store. Well not happy with it at all, the water doesn’t even cover half of the clothes when washing. Not good at all cleaning really dirty farm clothes, I dual washed them twice and still no good! I also have noticed the clothes that don’t get submerged end up with lint all over them too. I’m a big sorter of clothes and have been washing for over 20 years. I can’t...Read more
understanding how clothes can wash in a top loader without water covering them. Then also have noticed the out of balance beeps came on so I took clothes out and finished the cycle empty, got home three hours later and still beeping out of balance even with nothing in it. I’m hoping my machine is faulty and this is not how they’ve been designed?? Only positive is the cycle times are really good, quick cycle is 35 min and the regular is 55 min with full load but again clothes aren't coming out washed properly. I loved my old f&p intuitive top loader, it was amazing with washing the clothes and everything always came out like new. I’m still waiting to hear back from store, but not happy I've spent $1250 on it and it’s not doing what it’s designed for. Not sure now if I should go for a front loader? Also if you don’t have dirty clothes this machine may suit you but def not suited for a grubby household. **Update On My Review:: 30/0ct/2018Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

After wash finished, open lid to find clothes damp and a drip coming from underside of controls where water comes out to fill bowl, it just keeps dripping. Have made sure no blockage to drain hose. Is there a seal for this location that might need replacing?

Does this model have bowl straps
2 answers
I've gone through the manual and there is no reference to bowl straps
Wow. I am 69 and never heard of Bowl straps. I never needed any such thing. lol This should tell you that F & P know this machine goes out of balance. The trouble with this machine is that it is bigger in diameter and shallow compared to normal depth to other machines I have had. It has no filters, No water level button which i missed. The no filter and big diameter should have sent alarm bells. I have to wash everything on Bulk wash to get enough water to wash the clothes. They have put a front load machine into a top load which you cannot do unless you have water level button. These stupid water saver machines are useless. Other machines have a water level button to over ride the mind the machine. for 1300.00 biggest waste of money. if lived closer I would give it to you for 500.00. the other problem with this machine and others, the motors are not seperate to the drums like good old days. I find more noise . the inside of this machine is different to other machines with no agitator. Has raised bit in the middle and is so rough on the clothes. Clothes come out looking like rages as well. First time i have purchased a F&P never again. also never buy from Good Guys. they do not back their product.. Hope this helps. do not wasted your money. I would look at LG
Gill Cameronasked
It goes out of balance in every load
1 answer
No not every load. I found if I wash my mattress protector which is cotton it does it. Has done with towels. The problem is they have put a front load into a top load. The machine is bigger in diameter and not deep. . It also has no filter which I did ask about . That for one should have rung alarm bell. I wash everything on bulky to get enough water to wash my clothes. . Horrible machine. Do not buy
