Fisher & Paykel CleanSmart WL8060P1 (8kg) Questions & Answers
13 questions from our users
Has anyone else had their agitator paddles crease? They aren’t yet broken through but won’t move the water around as much because they fold.
Can a new agitation centre console be fitted? If so, how much will it cost and how difficult is the job?
Sounds like your agitator has broken fins, yes you need to buy a new one (about $65+). Its easy to replace, instruction for cleaning the agitator (removing it, cleaning it, putting it back) are in the users guide and lots of videos showing how...
are these a current model and are they still being made or have they been superceded
I did a Google search on this and it looks like it may have been superceded by a new model Fisher & Paykel Wash Smart WL8060P1 (8kg). The model number is the same the only difference appears changing ...
Read morefrom Clean Smart to Wash Smart. The cost seems similar at $1,499. Available from both Harvey Norman and The Good Guys. Hope this helps.Does this model have a "creasables " setting as per our old Fisher and Paykel model?
This washing machine doesn't clean 'dirty clothes', it just seems to spread the dirt onto other clothes. I have tried dual wash, soak etc etc. Also it is terrible washing sheets, it always leaves detergent residue behind, no matter what sort of detergent I am using . I have had this machine for a few years, I initially blamed my water(bore water) but since moving and using very clean rain water I still have the same problem. Am I using it wrong or do I have a lemon? I have had fisher paykel washing machines before and loved them but this one just doesn't clean, so disappointed!
AMR i purchased a filter from Fisher and Paykel which sits inside the agitator. Shouldn't have needed to pay $60 for a necessary part but it has improved washes. Less recirculated lint etc.
I purchased a 8kg top loader 10th October 2020 & I followed the manufactures instructions for loading & washing sheets (using sheet cycle). During the wash cycle the machine was very noisy making a continual banging noise from the drum. I tried redistributing the load to no avail. It was fine during the spin cycle - no abnormal noise. At the end of the wash I found the sheets badly tangled & very, very creased. So very disappointed with our new machine & bitterly regret my decision to purchase this F & P model.
Any comments as what to do next please?
I am sorry this happened to you...... Since our purchase of this same washer we have never experienced this issue..
If anything this machine so quiet compared to our last washer which used to make ...
Thank you for your reply - I believe I did load the sheets correctly as I followed the directions on page 18 of the washers user guide. I will try towels tomorrow & if the same result I will contact F&P. Mary M
we have a 8kg Cleansmart Washer, Having heaps of trouble with detergent marks on dark clothing, anyone have a fix for this problem, Also some loads come out with lint on them. Starting to wish i had kept our old front load washer
does this machine have a large agitator? or a low profile one?
Low, it tangles and rips trouser legs, tea towels, sheets, bath towels
You cannot see the agitator so it can hold a lot of clothes. I have had nothing rip at all. The only thing is that if you do not have a full load of sheets, they can get a little tangled due to all th...
Read moree space but that is not a drama. I have 3 tradie boys and so I wash all the time and everything comes out fabulous. I even find occasional screws and bolts in the bottom of the machine but it has no gaps so I do not have to worry.Bought an 8 kg washer one month out of warranty and touch screen has stopped working. If you unplug the machine for a minute then plug it back in you get one shot at turn on an select your wash then touch screen goes non responsive again
Wow! I am so sorry to hear that. I have had my machine for nearly a year now and I have had NO problems, touch wood. I have 5 adults and three are tradies so I use my machine nearly everyday and every...

I would like to change the water level in the preset settings see. Any help?
Hi Jo, You can’t change the water setting. This is the major problem with this machine
My mother bought this model & complains that the water doesnt even cover the clothes that are in it.I know its a water saver but I would think that it should cover them.Should we call technician? She used to have a trusty simpson but thought that the electronic one would be better. She likes to be able to add clothes but this one stops & resets
Any suggestions? thanks
Hi. I have the 10kg model, which like the 8kg, is designed to save water & does not fill with water covering the clothes as I'm used to. The design is for those who pay water rates therefore adapting ...
Read moreto our changing times. I have had no issues with my washes coming out clean, which is the more important question to ask your mother. It is important to lay the clothes in a circle against the drum, leaving the centre free (like a donut). The clothes rotate in a circular motion towards the drum, while the water sprays from the drum over the clothes. I'm also a "clothes added", which has not been a problem for me. If your mother's machine resets, I'm assuming it's because it has sensed the added clothing and must make adjustment from the previous pre-set water amount. Unfortunately I have no suggestions apart from trying to adjust one's personal thinking, which I know, is not so easy :)Thanks very much for that.I will tell her to try the clothes circle. She insists that the clothes arent clean either. Its just hard to get them to adjust to the new ways at their age.I wasnt sure whethe...
Read morer it was worth calling a technician but I think now that you have told me this, its probably not.She is now going to go & get a new one :(Just a footnote. The "High Efficiency" when turned off results in a little more water going into the machine. I have my set permanently to OFF. It's a shame a new machine is the only alternative. I wo...
Read moreuld advise you help your mother choose as all the new models are changing to the new style. I would also suggest she read the manual as it does help to explain how the machine works. Best of luck. Can I turn off the auto drain on clean smart washing machine?
Only by turning the machine off at the wall if you are wanting to soak stuff overnight, otherwise 2 hours is the maximum soak with the machine powered on.
Lint lint lint..........does not matter what i do....tried everything.......can i sue F&P for such a waste of money. How do i get my money back plus the extra $ and time trying to remove the lint?
i had the same issue about 10 years ago with my F & P washer - I contacted F & P Service and they asked me about separating dissimilar fabrics, etc (which I always do). Then they sent me a free filter...
