Excellent Car with serious ability
Comfortable & well equipped for the family runs as well as trusted to take off the beaten track. Only let down by Ford Australia Service centres. But hey now its out of warranty can use mechanics who know what they are doing.

Great vehicle that rates 4.9/5.0 (One sensor failure that dropped it from a 5.)
Bought this vehicle new in September 2017 as a tug for the van and a family transport/recreation vehicle I did not buy it as a hard core bush basher. It had not given one ounce of trouble till last month when it failed to start soon after fueling. I booked it in for maintenance but couldn't get in for a week. Long before this, it had failed three more times. I got an urgent appointment with my local Ford dealers (Klosters Raymond Terrace who see the car once a year for a service) and on arrival there, it wouldn't start when they went to take ...Read more
it around into their service bay It was diagnosed as a cam angle sensor malfunction and this was replaced that same day. All their Service personnel were great, they diagnosed the fault and fixed it that same day, no grumbles no issues. I have had no problems since. (As an aside, my previous 4x4 also had a cam angle sensor failure and it took 2 weeks just to get the parts from the USA . Two weeks haven't these guys heard of air parcel freight?) I was and am getting 9.2 litres/100 from the Everest and it tows my 20 ft van absolutely effortlessly, and passes a number of the more popular Japanese tugs with their vans on hilly sections of the highway. Daughter and Son-in-Law recon the 2rd row seats are comfy, and the grand kids say the 3nd row seats are also. I looked long and hard before making my choice and narrowed the possibilities down from 5 serious contenders. I am really happy with the car both on and off road, both towing and not. However off road is where the Everest really shines and it behaves impeccably, it is great on sand, and on bush-land gravel it is so quiet that you can sneak up on wildlife, and on harsher tracks it keeps itself reasonably clean and tidy, unlike my previous 4x4 which came home looking like it had survived a tsunami after the mildest of tracks. I was unwilling to write a review till I had given the Everest a fair work out. But, in my opinion its definitely a keeper!!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

The perfect SUV, especially after my failing Landcruiser 200.
After being treated terribly along with many issues including engine and suspension issues on our 2017 Landcruiser 200 series, our Ford dealer and Everest Titanium (Sunset Red) was a sigh relief.
After now travelling around the majority of this great southern land, we are proud to be Ford!

Multiple problems that don't seem to be fixed
I purchased a new Everest Titanium in January 18 and now done 16,000 K's. Since purchase the car has been into the dealers with issues no less than 8 times. Firstly in March the aircon required re gasing. Then the cruise module was playing up and soft wear updates did not fix so eventually replaced - And again still playing up with more software updates. In May the gear box seal was replaced and am told now 7 months later that it needs replacing again. ( I see from other reviews that this may be common). This is very poor from a vehicle of this ...Read more

This car has been a lemon since day 1, Ford can not fix serious life threatening faults.
I have had Everest since new. Vehicle has broken down since just over 30000 km's, every time I tow a trailer (1000kg's ) vehicle goes into limp mode about 2 hours into journey. Vehicle won't go over 1500 rpm and stays in 3rd gear. Vehicle has been into ford a dozen times but they say there is nothing wrong. If I go to over take a truck and engine goes into reduced power mode I will be left out on wrong side of road and if vehicle are following we are all in serious trouble. Thank you Ford for selling me a lemon. I have to hire a vehicle to take my trailer out of town.

Great cruizer. Engine roar. Poor build quality. Unreliable. Great for towing and holidays.
Bought vehicle new. Long term Ford customer as family involved ln Ford.
Great highway cruiser and good tow vehicle. High fuel consumption in city around 11l/100km.
Poor ride for rear seat passengers as bouncy on country road making kids sick.
Build quality poor. Panel fit not great. Many Everest have had same issues as Rangers.
Have had rear engine oil seal leak (very common) and possibly recurring.
Multiple glow plug failure which has no dash warning. Recognised as a fault by Ford and common.
Failure to recognise leads to tip breaking and head cylinder damage as attested by the poor Ranger owner at Bayfords the same day mine was in for repair.
Multiple battery failure due to Smart charge system. ...Read more
Traction control/stability control failure not resolved fully yet. Now have a loud tap sound in engine bay.Sounds like a bad injector. Headlamp plastic failure in many models with internal cracking (mine) and fading. Recognised as a fault by Ford. No dedicated transmission cooler only heat exchange unit leading to many caravanners going into limp mode in the outback. Have installed custom springs in rear and aftermarket shocks to improve ride quality. Noise insulation blanket with Mass loaded vinyl under bonnet reduces engine rumble. Have always had Donaldson filter /water seperator to protect injection system. Front passenger comfort is good.Rear passenger comfort is only average as seats do not fully recline for those long trips.Cabin noise is low apart from intruding engine roar. 3rd row strictly for kids or under 5 foot adults. Safe vehicle and great off road . Ford service has been ok over the years for me. Pity Ford sources from the cheapest supplier without checking quality. Maybe newer examples have had these issues rectified but I would not recommend.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Nothing to criticize, excellent vehicle.
Very comfortable and quiet. Excellent vehicle towing 2.5 tonne caravan. Fuel economy averaging 9l per100 suburban/country and 15/16 towing caravan.Great sat nav and many safety features.Adaptive cruise is excellent on
highway .Dash layout is good but miss full size tacho.Rainsensing wipers and auto dimming are very useful.Servicing costs fixed and very reasonable .

Best 4wd/suv from Ford
I would say good 4wd/suv built by ford, sturdy body, spacious interior(not enough head room for tall peoples),engine noise is high compared with rival products, good ground clearance that enable you to take car anywhere without any concern of scraping underbody, park assist/self parking and panoramic moonroof are awesome,20” alloy wheels gives a sporty look.Much more features needs to be mentioned.
Ford needs to add more features and improve build quality since Everest mainly rivals with Toyota Prado. They need to add features such as driver seat ...Read more

Had same problem with adblue
Ad blue troubles and ford had lots of trouble fixing it . I'm talking two weeks or more for us without car. Mechanics had lot of trouble even diagnose the problem. Dealer did not seem to care or be in a hurry to get problem Car itself seems to be good until something goes wrong. Service terrible

Wish both cars were Everest's
After selling my old Prado I bit the bullet and bought 1 year old Everest. OMG great 4WD that handles like a sedan. My wife and I always try to get the ford even though the liberty ain't that bad. The technology is also incredible!
Did a 7500km road trip from QLD to NT and back through southern states and the Ford didn't miss a beat. The fuel savings compared to the Prado were a real bonus. Also love the 7 seats compared to the territory which has no foot room in rear seat. It's a clear winner, thank you Ford!

Not Impressed
Had an Everest for a loan car for 3 days and as much as I like USA made products, the Everest fell short of expectations.
V6 engines are crap compared to a straight 6 (ie: Territory), the ride feels over balanced as the car may roll, steering is to light which created understeer yet on the plus side, very big inside and comfortable seats.

Exceeded expectations
As a japanese car buyer historically I didn't expect much from a Ford but it was way better to drive than Prado and technology, infotainment, interior and overall look were way better so took a punt and bought instead of Prado. Overall fit and finish are slightly below Prado and it has a bit more plastic under it where Toyota use steel but I took a chance on this as well.
After 40,000km on a trip around Australia towing a camper trailer on some pretty rough roads the car has performed well with no issues or problems. As I said being a Ford ...Read more
I expected a few issues but so far so good. We have also found the dealer network around Australia to be helpful and servicing costs are reasonable...my perception is it is cheaper to service than my old Subaru Outback which is a bonus. For our trip I only added heavy rear springs and air bags as our camper has a high towball load the rest of the car is standard. Overall I still enjoy the car and if I had to replace it tomorrow I'm pretty sure I would buy the same again. OverallSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

A very versatile 4WD
Hi. Our previous tow vehicles were Mitsubishi Pajero's x 3. The Pajero spare wheel made it awkward to fit the caravan connecting bits, the Grandchildren became to large for the seats in the back and our new caravan was over the tow bar weight limits for the hitch weights (Pajero, over 2500 kg the ball weight limit is 180 kg). However liked the Pajero very much.
The Everest has solved all those problems, plenty of space in the 3 rd row for adult size people, you can move the 2 nd row forward for more room while leaving plenty of space there, a t...Read more

Ordinary mechanics can't deal with advanced tech when things go wrong
Car is great, comfortable, goes well and the tech is great when it works. The problem we've found with such a high tech car is that if you're unlucky enough to get a software glitch the mechanics at the dealer are simply not equipped to handle it. We have had two problems with our Everest.
The first one was an "adblue malfunction" (this is not the same as getting low on adBlue). It claimed to be a malfunction in the adBlue system and informed the driver that the car itself would stop working within a certain number of kilometres (e.g 897km)....Read more
This would have been worrying for somebody who was doing a long drive! After a few days (thankfully before the final kilometre countdown) the message would disappear (only to reoccur within a few weeks). Initially, the dealer did not know what to do. After some months, Ford came up with a software fix and after a couple of attempts the dealer was able to fix the problem. There probably never was an actual adBlue malfunction. But if the computer thought there was and stranded you, there might as well have been. A second problem we've had is that one suite of tech stops working for some days. So you will have no GPS, no Bluetooth, no USB use, no front parking sensor display. After a few days, it comes good again. This has been back to a Ford dealer several times, but it still happens. My feeling is that the mechanics at the dealer are simply not equipped to deal with software problems. Modern cars make heavy use of computers and technology, so when something goes wrong it may be beyond the powers of the mechanic to repair. No matter how good the mechanic, if the problem is in the software it may need a software "fix" from the company, which is not something that the dealer has control over. This has also made me trust the car less. Modern cars rely on software, including crucial things such as control of steering. To me, I need to feel that car manufacturers have a robust system of testing, implementing and repairing the software systems that are in our cars. If little things go wrong, it makes me more anxious about whether they've got the big things right. Anyway, I've found it to be a comfortable car which is great car to drive, but I almost don't care because I'm so annoyed with the amount of time I've had to waste getting minor software glitches fixed.Similar opinion? Family motoring
What a superb car! 7 seats and air conditioning available for each person - controlled either from the front or from row 2. When you have kids this is a god send in the summer. Drives very well / handles well and certainly does not feel like a big SUV. Off road ? Its brilliant - seems to conquer all terrain I've thrown at it here in Victoria
Sync 2 entertainment system / sat nav etc is very good although Sync 3 has just come out but its $2000 to upgrade !
Pulling a trailer is a breeze and you hardly notice its there
Overall i think this is a great car - in fact i used to own a Porsche Cayenne and this believe it or not is a better car
