So impressed - better than I imagined.
Very happy with my Focus sport, great handling especially on winding roads - sticks to the road, so easy to handle and so responsive. Great acceleration -I beat everyone off the lights even the most powerful cars.
Comfortable drivers seat. Plenty of oomph to overtake on highways.Everyone who has driven my car is impressed - a delight to drive.
Purchased in January 2021 at Ford Dealers for $25,300.00.

Rubbish from new
I owner this care from new it handles and drives well howeever for me it has been an unreliable car. Right from new I had non stop issues with the Engine warning light coming on. The dealer looked at this issue every time and it this sensor or that sensor as the excuse. Then they always charged me a code reading access fee, what a service rort. Its like charging customers for tool rental its such a gouge. There was never an explanation to why this light kept coming on. They replaced "wiring" but it never fixed the fault.. The final confirma...Read more
tion that this car had design issues when i got a repair bill of 1200 dollars plus labor for the replacement of the ECM(electronic control module) unit that failed for no reason. Just drove to the shops stopped and started a couple of times and then the engine warning light came on again. What made matters worst is that the Ford dealer ripped me off, the module over the counter was something like 540 dollars and they charged me 1200 dollars for ordering the part plus labor to install the unit. You would think the dealer and service center would supply the part at the over the counter price. This module rarely fails and consider how lightly the car was used I think i just got ripped off. I got a lemon of car since this engine warning light coming on for no reason has been a constant issue. I will never buy another Ford again and in particular the Focus model considering all these issues that we have had in our family with owning 3 of various focus models. Even though this was the manual version of the car I also had the issue with the manual clutch plate cracking that was replaced under warranty. These cars were really design lemons.Purchased in January 2021 for $32,000.00.

Ford have really got this focus right
After experiencing the earlier Ford Focus trend auto 2.0 litre model LW 2013 that was plagued with transmission problems, I was reluctant to accept what was an extremely generous offer from Ford, to accept a new model LZ. After some research and being aware that the LZ has a new 1.5L turbo engine coupled with a new 6 speed torque converter gearbox together with an extensive test drive, I decided to accept Fords offer but to upgrade to the S model with the Tech pack. This little car is a gem. Great handling, responsive performance and to date, a...Read more
fter 20000 klms, with the exception of a faulty electric boot opening switch, that was promptly replaced under warranty, it has performed above expectations. I believe the LW model has destroyed sales of this little beauty which is a tragedy as there are few if any comparative vehicles on the market that would be superior to this.

Second family car
We bought the ford focus sport about a month ago as a second car for my wife to use for work - overall its a great little car
Great to drive handles well although a little sluggish if you dont use the gears - yes we bought a manual - coming from the UK where manual cars are the norm rather than the exception as here in Oz.
Interior and exterior are very good and the interior design and trim is excellent quality
As a little run around - its definitely work a look

Excellent Car
I have owned my Ford Focus Sport (auto) since March and am impressed.
I have traveled 11000ks and so far no issues. The engine is very responsive and is mated to a 6 speed standard auto gearbox. . Interior is well designed with 8" display sync 3 which works seamlessly. Seats are also very comfortable. There are plenty of cars in this segment but I chose the ford for it's handling and styling. The car feels solid . No rattles or squeaks and runs on standard unleaded.
If your looking for a small hatch you might want to consider the Focus . It is fun to drive.

Fantastic buy!!
27/9/17 fuel update - had the opportunity to drive on m4/m7 recently and fuel avg came down to 6.9l/100klm. I didn't even reset the fuel economy gauge before the trip either so would have been less if this had been done before setting out. The driving experience just gets better the more I drive it :))
14/9/17 fuel update - reset fuel usage this morning and it dropped to as low as 8.3L/100klm with more flat road driving VS around 10L/100klm on hilly roads and some traffic ;)
After doing much research, comparing and checking, we finally plac...Read more
ed an order for our 2017 Focus Sport Hatch 6sp Auto 1.5 Turbo Sync 3 and after just 220 klm on the clock, it has been an absolute joy to drive. We researched other similar cars including the corolla sx/zr hatch (nice look outside but inside the dash looked like it was from the 90's compared to the Focus and the 1.6 non turbo motor doesn't offer anywhere near the pull of the Focus 1.5 turbo), Golf TSI (plain looking and servicing costs very high) and the huyndai i30 sr (similar engine power but the cabin layout and looks of the Focus easily won us over) That said the Focus Sport is not the cheapest car but the overall package as a warm hatch is well worth the extra cash IMO. Warranty is average at just 3 years and servicing is every 15000klm or 12 months whichever comes first. I was very weary of the Focus badge after hearing horror stories about its predecessors major engine faults (LW I and II dual clutch auto) which sent shudders through (literally) anyone thinking of buying a Focus but I made sure I had absolute peace of mind after researching and investigating as much information as anyone could gather from various Australian and O/S car reviews on the Focus. The new LZ engine is a completely different setup and Ford has ditched the dual clutch from the Focus - it is ultra smooth and responsive and a pleasure to drive (in case anyone is interested, I've also learned that Fords poor marketing of the LZ Focus has also contributed to its low sales levels compared to the corolla and other similar cars). Inside the car, the drivers seat can be adjusted to a near perfect driving position with easy access to the number of controls and tech gadgets this car has to offer. The sports style seats feel firm without being hard and provide ample support which gives you the feeling of being encased in the cabin - it really makes you feel like you are a part of the car. Rear seating is comfortable for 2 people (and 1 kid in the middle) and boot space is enough for 2 people to go away for a week with appropriate luggage. For now, we have been recommended by the dealer to keep revs under 4000RPM until he's run in (3000klm) but there is still more than enough power below 4000RPM for Sydney metro driving.....I cant wait to feel what performance is like in the higher rev range (during one test drive before we had made up our minds, I had 4 people in the car and it accelerated from 20klm p/hr to 80klm p/hr with no effort whatsoever. That said I am no rev head but I want a car that has the power if/when needed and the Focus Sport definitely ticked that box.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Fuel Economy!
Purchased a Focus Sport last September (2016). Thought it was a great all rounder, Handles very well and is a pleasure to drive.Until I noticed how much fuel it was using. The main selling point for this car to me was economy. Advertised as 6.7 L/100 km. I get between 10.5 and 11.5 L/100 km from this car and only once got just below 10 L/100 km from a tank full. This issue has been looked into by Ford who returned a verdict of nothing wrong with the car and believe that the figures I am returning are within the specifications so will do no more...Read more
about it. What disappointing support. The Car is fantastic to drive and has some great features but costs me a fortune to run as fuelling up a tank every 430 km. The car would be perfect if it wasn't for the appalling economy. Buy at your own risk as you will get little support in sorting out an issue like mine.Similar opinion?
