Absolutely the best car ever!
I do not know where to start.. this mondeo we bought which is the titanium diesel is incredible so very reliable. Fuel consumption is amazing.. we get 1000 km's per tank around town! Air conditioning. is freezing cold.. transmission is so smooth. We drive our mondeo 3 to 4 times per week. Servicing is done only at ford. The boot is massive .. larger than our ford falcon boot which was our previous car. Engine bay looks great and enough space to to work on the motor if need be. Electric heated seats are a plus and work fantastic. We have never h...Read more
ad any issues with our Mondeo. The sun roof works perfectly. No issues with our mondeo which we have had under 1 year . The leather is still immaculate .. it is not the usual cheap leather used in cars in Australia.. probably as it is a European made car. Best car ever for comfort, reliability and quality!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Love this beauty.
Well I have always been a Mondeo Man. Used it in UK for more than 5 years, use this beauty down under. No major problems. I drive around in Tasmania so sometime cold starts gives me a knocking sound. But after 15 minutes drive it goes off otherwise its a brilliant vehicle. Good average 6L/100 KM in highways and urban driving gives me around 7.4/100 KM. Love to drive this European/American beauty in Australian roads.

Transmission issues
The ford mondeo is not a good car. After 5 months i started having transmission issues. Took it to several places and costing hundreds, it still isnt fixed. I finally got into a ford machanic and was told to cut my losses and sell quick as possible. To fix the 2 sences in the gearbox would cost me around $5000. I saved everything to buy this car and now im stuck the a broken car, no savings and faults after faults

Very nice car car I had for 8 years.
Neat and a delight to drive, all interior options very easy to use and understant.Great 2.3lt petrol engine, auto trans no problems, just lacks top end torque.Otherwise a very comfortable car to drive and tow a camper trailer with ease. Not suitable to tow caravans though as weight and towing rates will not be compliant.Economy good especially on cruise control.Plenty of space for luggage.Spare tyre not practical as not a full spare and causes inconvenience.Did have noise problems with power steering but great since problem was fixed.A car that could have been my last until we bought a caravan.Always used 95/98 octane fuel.

Amazing looking car but that's all.
Just writing this review to help people out with the Oz td ford mondeo, a great looking car inside and out but that's about it. My ford that I just sold at a loss from all the issues I had with it, where to start? Stuck in 3 gear for no reason with all the warnings lights on, lots of money to find out the software lost its memory. All the lights staying on after car was locked, to find out I needed a new battery, then you can only go to BP to get diesel as shell and that make it ran tuff as guys with power loss. The hatch leaked water as well, Could go on with heaps of problems. Stay away from them!! Btw mine only had 60kms on it.

Underrated car but excellent in many respects
This car does everything well. Handling, road feel, steering are great. The engine is a little doughy down low in auto mode. In sports mode, it takes off better. The mid range is strong and overtaking is easy. Long trips are comfortable and smooth. The interior is well designed and seats are comfy. Ours has 240000 kms and it has been reliable. There is an oil leak that we have not fixed. Running costs are average. It blows rear stop lights every few months. Fuel economy is 6.7 around town and 5.9 on long trips. 1000 kms a tank (on hwy trips)The...Read more
audio is excellent for a 2009 model. It has ABS, TC, EBD and feels very safe. The paintwork is excellent. In Townsville, even new cars have peeled paint from the sun. Our grey car has no sun damage. Our previous car was a VW Golf V TDI, and the Mondeo is superior in every department.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Mecatronic unit problem
I got a mondeo titanium 2009 model had it for 5 months only had 102000klm on it.first i had to take it in because the diesel mondeo has to do burn offs mine had to be done manually to grt all the crap out then i Was driving my girls to school the car decided to throw it self into 1st doing 80klm took it to ford they had no idea what was going on then it did it again 3 weeks later. I called the car yard where i got from they didn't want to know about it. I took it back to ford they tell me i needed a new mecatronic unit put in after they had it for a week. Needless to say i lost out on thousands of dollars i loved the car interior and the look of the car is everything i wanted. Very disappointed

This car has everything and is an absolute joy to drive. An under-appreciated classic of tomorrow!!
After losing a work vehicle and knowing I had to drive approx. 500 km each week to and from work, my modified 2001 Forester GT wasn't going to cut it from a fuel economy or a comfort level. So the search to replace it started in earnest. Fortunately it did not take too long to narrow down the field. I did not want a station wagon (been there done that too many times) and I did not want a sedan. I wanted a big hatch and in my mind was the old Rover 3500 with a big hatch. Absolutely nothing out there in a big hatch unless you wanted to spend 50-6...Read more
0k on a BMW 3 series Grand Tourismo 5 door hatch...um...no. Process of elimination draw me to the Ford Mondeo. There is a few models so which one? My mind remembers a cool looking car I remembered seeing...a Mondeo XR5. It is the turbo charged sporty variant Ford Australia made as part of their go fast range....XR5 Focus, XR6, XR8 Falcons etc. So once I had asked around, it was preferable to get the MB or second evolution of the XR5 Mondeo...it fixed some of the issues with the MA series and added some standard features....Sunroof, Bluetooth phone connectivity (best ever) and the best feature on the car...Interactive cruise control (more later). Test drove a few of the MA model - great but it confirmed that I wanted an MB model. When I was looking there was 8 for sale in the whole country!!! Four of these were in WA so they were out and a few on the east coast were a bit high in kilometres and a fair bit pricey. Found a great example for sale in Townsville...looked around but could not match it for the features and it only had 105k on the clock. Flew to Townsville and bought it. Drove it from Townsville to Sydney in 2 days (2300km) and to be honest, I could not have chosen a more prefect car. It is the ultimate in Grand Tourers - it just eats the road while keeping the occupants in lavish surroundings. Firstly some numbers, the motor is a straight 5 cylinder 2.5 litre turbocharged engine "borrowed" from the Volvo parts bin. It makes 162kW and over 300nm of torque. Anyone ever try and tell you the MA-MB-MC Mondeo is a medium sized car has not been in one. They are huge inside and out. Literally an inch narrower than a falcon of the same year and wheelbase is actually longer than the falcon. The seats easily accomodates 5 full sized people - the rear legroom is huge as is the headroom. The boot is truly cavernous and takes a very big load. She’s a big girl and weighs in at 1600kg. It is smart off the line and the turbo give it a very smooth powerful delivery of power. It is a six speed manual transmission only - no auto slushbox here! It is incredibly smooth to drive and it rewards the driver with a real sense of satisfaction when driving anywhere. The performance is on the right side of snappy and you will want to take advantage of the excellent cruise control - overtaking means you pull out and gas it...and if you’re not careful you've smashed the speed limit easily. A few reasons for this...it's a very smooth drive and the car is insanely quiet. I came off a Subaru with the fully sic boxer WRX super loud exhaust and my wife said it was amazing how quiet the new car is. The naturally quiet cabin is one of the best features of the car – and it’s built into every Mondeo!!!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Mondeo to Sunday a great drive
I purchased my 2009 Mondeo TDCi from a friend two years ago. He looked after his cars, treated them like a good woman with the respect they deserve, so I knew I was on to a good thing. In a former life I was once a private chauffeur and it was said that I could make my employers Merc dance if called upon to do so. The same goes for the Mondeo. Normally I wouldn't waste spit on a Ford, but the German engineering of the Mondeo, the leather seats, the solid feel and the classy dash made it feel like I was behind the wheel of a quality automobile. ...Read more
The fuel economy of 1,000 kms to the tank is nothing short of spectacular. A little slow in first gear before the power kicks in, but that's the worst I can say about it. After 107,000 ks it still drives like new with no mechanical problems so far. I highly recommend this model as a second hand purchase.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Second Mondeo and still impressed
Changed our 2009 Mondeo over in August for a 2012 Titanium TDCi with 8000k on the clock, while I was very happy with our first Mondeo this one is even better, it has all the safety equipment you could ask for including adaptive cruise, lane change indicators and is more powerful than our previous car but still as economical recently got 1200 out of tank on open road, as previously stated Ford are letting them selves down big time by not pushing this car I know it lacks reversing camera and sat nav but all the other assets it has puts it right u...Read more
p there. Extremely reliable and economical and the diesel is so drivable & have had discussions with people who state they can't justify additional cost of the diesel well the added torque (more than Holden's V6) makes passing and hills seem non exisitent and still getting 6.1 km/100 on open road with luggage Adaptive cruise took some getting used too as car applies brakes on freeway if someone cuts in then car will accelerate back up to speed by itself when safe to do soSimilar opinion? MB 2009 Ford Mondeo Wagon Petrol 2.3L
Great car, some minor cosmetic issues however resolved at the right Ford Dealer, one dealer was very tough and then went to another to get all issues raised corrected. Running at 9.5l per 100km, if a lot of highway use in the low 7 or 8L /100km. 6 speed gearbox a little jerky but mostly all round a good car with full safety pack. 5 Star Ancap.
Reasonable well built a cheap to run even on the petrol model compared to the Commodore wagon same year.
Sometimes little rattle here and there. If Ford dealer gives any trouble with warranty, just go to another dealer, Springwood QLD perhaps.

This is a fantastic car to drive. It handles so well and has the European stylish appearance. The Zetec model is packed with features including being able to have a different temperature setting on the driver's side to the passengers side. We have the diesel and the fuel consumption is fantastic. The boot space is also large enough to fit a bundle of baby items including prams, etc. The rear and front parking sensors make parking this car so easy to park in small spaces. Highly recommended.
I love how this car handles. It also looks stylish and has a large boot.
Nothing at all.

I have the TDCi hatch in Tango with leather trim and the Bluetooth package. I think I'll be one of those 70 year olds with and ancient old car because I love this baby. Not genuinely quick of the mark but if your in the 2000 rev range climbing past 60km/h and gently push the accelerator a bit more, she's like a slingshot! So very, very torquey. This car gets the looks all the time and funnily enough many people think it's a hatch version of the G6! (Love that grill and headlight combination.) So if you've got around $40k to spend and you like t...Read more

I have owned this car for a week. I am glad I waited for the MB version as it is cosmetically an improvement and includes more kit. The diesel models now mirror the petrol models, which always annoyed with other brands including Ford. Thankfully they woke up. I have the Zetec version which includes an impressive array of features including the flashy computer system to control audio and everything else. They've still included buttons for frequently used things which is great. Ride and handling are superb as noted by the lack of body roll when c...Read more
ornering. The transmission is smooth and while it doesn't fang it off the line, the line, there's an impressive amount of power on tap. The quality of the plastics is akin to a VW and the seats are among the most comfortable I have experienced. This is one good value package, that Mazda's package comes no where near. Large car, but nimble, excellent diesel engine, audio system, stylish interior, seat comfort, awesome handling, massive boot. Didn't get one sooner.Similar opinion? A dealer let me spend a weekend with this car. I ultimately chose the G6E over this car but it impressed me very much. If I had needed a third car or something slightly smaller than a G6E this would be my first choice.
This car surprised me in how it felt. It had a much more together feel than any Japanese car of the same size had ever felt. Its Diesel engine was very powerful and the car was surprisingly quiet and roomy.
I totally recommend it.
Very solid and big car feel, very large and versatile luggage are with hatch, nicely put together. Very powerful diesel engine, great gearbox, very very nice James Bond styling, very surefooted.
The aircon dials are a bit old fashioned

I have always liked the Mondeo. Ford brought them out in 1996 but pulled out in 2002. I couldn't understand why, at the time, when Holden could sell a lot of Vectra when Ford simply can't get Mondeo to sell.
I was very happy to see them back in Australia in 2007. I recently took delivery of a MB Titanium diesel. It is a very good package with features that are practical rather than something that you won't use.
One of my colleagues look at my car and he said "this is not Ford" and "why would you bother with a BMW?".
Great look inside and ...Read more
