Update on Franke double bowl stainless steel sink.
Updating my previous review. Franke also known as PRKS here in Western Australia have offered to remove the rusting sink at their cost but will not pay for the new sink, NOT a FRANKE sink, to be reinstalled. They will not reimburse me for the cost of installing their faulty sink either. I have been forced, because of their position, to lodge a complaint with The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety which was formed on 1 July 2017 with the amalgamation of the departments of Commerce and Mines and Petroleum who handle consumer com...Read more
plaints. (Consumer Protection) It is sad it has come to this, I did email the Head of Franke on the 7 August 2018 Please Cc: Thomas A. Erb, Chairman Michael Pieper, Vice Chairman Andreas Hauswirth, Non Executive Director Christian Mäder, Non Executive Director Patrik Wohlhauser, President/CEO Franke Group and President/CEO Franke Kitchen Systems a.i. Michael Soormann, Non Executive Director Gianluca Mapelli, Chief Operating Officer None of them have had the courtesy to reply so that, to me, says a lot about a company. Anyway I will update again when something happens. In the mean time, personally research reviews before you buy anything, don't believe what the product advertising says. Companies make the products but it us, the consumer, who have to deal with the consequences of bad manufacturing where profit is before product. Well that is what I believe and my email of 7 August 2018 seems to show that. Research, research and then research again. Sorry I am unable to rate this product or the company lower than terrible. Parkwood Plumbing have been trying to sort this mess out for me. GrannyLe

Well here we are, 2022 and still waiting for Franke Sink. The Regional Retail Sales Manager from PKRS Western Australia came to our home with their Account Manager. The gentleman was very polite, we ... Read more
showed him the photos of the rusting sink and he was surprised that the reviews and photos I had been sending them over many months had not been read by the Account Manager and he had never seen the photos. I had email a request for their CEO call at our home last July (2018) no one came or called or emailed to say they would not be here. I asked why he hadn't come then and the answer was "I'm here now" He polished our rusting sink for about 30 minutes and I told him I physically would not be able to polish the sink like he did because of my disability and my husband has many other things to do to help me. He said he would send the photos to the production team and would have two new plugs and some cleaner sent but when the package arrived some weeks later the cleaner had been crossed out and only the two plugs were in the envelope. The two new plugs are definitely not the same quality as the originals, the weight is much lighter. The Accounts Manager did send an email late on the afternoon they were here stating that the rust had been fixed. My husband immediately emailed back stating that polish does not stop rust. We are still waiting for the reply from the production team at Fanke sinks. You may be interested to know that when I asked if the sink was made in China the Sales Manager replied "they are made in Franke factories in a number of places. When I again ask if it was made in China and did Franke send the stainless steel to that factory he replied "No" I then continued by stating that the stainless steel must then be Chinese and I had clearly told the sales person at Parkwood Plumbing that I do not buy Chinese products of stainless steel. Well to add to that, when I was getting something from under the rusting sink tonight the base of the cupboard is covered with water. When my husband came to look he found that the part of the sink that holds the plug was not sealed. Whether it was not fitted properly or the strenuous 30 minute cleaning broke the seal we wont know until we can get a plumber in. P.S. the marks on our sink are still there but the rust is much lighter in colour. No, the polish has not solved the problem as much as Franke (PRKS) Account Manager wishes it had.Similar opinion? BUYER BEWARE! Absolute Rubbish!
Franke Sinks are absolute rubbish!
I’m 60 yrs old and have owned and lived in over 15 houses in my lifetime. All those homes had the kitchen sink brand called “Radiant” That brand has been tried and tested in most of the majority of Australian homes for dozens and dozens of years. A brand that is sensational quality. Every one of those sinks I have NEVER EVER seen tarnished, stained, or look anything like the piece of junk this “Franke” kitchen sink looks like.
I regret ever buying it. And believe me when I say this is not a cost thing. I wo...Read more
uldn’t care how much I paid for a sink, as long as it stayed looking good instead of tarnished and water marked like this one is. 6 months ago we renovated another home of ours and took the advice of the kitchen company who talked us into buying a “Franke” sink. A very modern looking sink which seemed to suit and match the look of our new kitchen, so we bought it. Oh my god! What a giant mistake that was. First off, when the plumber took this brand new sink out of its packaging box, it had dark marks all over it that would not clean off. I rang Franke and they said if I bought it straight into them, they would replace it, which they did. They told me when I arrived that if I used their special polish and applicator the marks on it would come out. I said I wasn’t going to be doing that as the damn sink was brand new and should not need to have the hard work of polishing put into it. Not ever in my life had I had to do this to any “Radiant” brand sinks. I demanded another sink which they gave me. They also sent me off with some special polish that they said could be used if I wanted, to keep the sink looking at its best. That set off alarm bells with me bigtime. What a crock of you know what! Polish it!! Good Grief!!! They must know perfectly well the quality of their stainless steel is not good. There is no comparison in the quality of a “Radiant” brand to this rubbish “Franke” brand they are passing off to people as great quality. Just because they look smart and modern and suit our modern day stylishly built kitchens with their sleek styling, don’t be fooled. These sinks scratch like nothing you can imagine and mark like nothing you can imagine. They look like absolute junk after only a few weeks, unless you spend hours every week cleaning and polishing the damn thing. Seriously, this is no joke and “Franke”, you should be ashamed of yourselves for selling such absolute rubbish that requires such maintenance for it to look half decent. The majority of sinks in peoples kitchens until “Franke” became the so called “upmarket” style, were perfect looking lovely and shiny and stain free and very rarely needed anything more than a simple wipe over with your kitchen cloth after using it.

It says it all, doesn’t it, that Franke hasn’t responded. Pathetic

Franke sink from Lowes
Purchased the more expensive two bowl deep sink--it has rust mark ALL over the sink--cannot get rid of them. Very mad at the fact of the sink doing this after spending good money for it any paying to install it. Don't by their brand. NOT what they used to be.

Extremely practical and stylish
I lived with one large round single bowl with no side drainers for over 6 years, big enough for my large pots but not very practical when washing lots of dishes so when it came time to renovate our kitchen with very limited bench space, we didn't want to get any one and half or one and 3/4 bowls which hardly fit anything in the smaller side, nor did we want one that included a side drainer to take up vaulauble bench space either.
I bought the double bowl sink model PFX620B due to it's large size and depth after my sister had bought one for h...Read more
er kitchen renovation. My large scanpan dutch oven pot and oven baking trays can be washed in the deep bowls without having to go an use the laundry tub. Secondly, we wanted to have the tap hole in the sink and not coming out of the stone benchtop so any water dripping from the tap went straight into the sink. We wanted a streamlined look in our fairly small kitchen, so having the included accessories of the drainer lid and strainer which meant that the sleek look of the new kitchen was still maintained as it kept drainer basket hidden under the drainer lid, which could also be placed on the bench to drain into the sink whilst you were washing. The steel colour has more of a matt finish with a lighter sheen, so does not appear as glossy and shiner as other designer brands like Blanco. Unfortunately we sold the house 8 months after renovating the kitchen but will definately buy the same one as all the included accessories represented great value for money. We bought it at Harvey Norman for $500 Large and deep bowls, plenty of included accessories, particularly the deep dish drainer basket and the drainer lid.Similar opinion? Excellent Design and usability
An excellent kitchen sink, I didn't buy it because of the name, I was told by the salesperson that the kitchen sink includes a chopping board, a colander, a wire basket and a stainless steel tray and I was able to get a Franke gooseneck flick mixer tap which looks great for under $900!
The idea of having a portable stainless steel drainer is great and I use it to hide the dirty dishes under one of the bowls.
Great design, high quality stainless steel
