breakdown on a 43 degree hot day
Less than 4 month old unit breaks down on 20th Dec (43 degree in Melbourne), outdoor unit fan just stopped running in my bedroom where my 5 months old daughter sleeps. Called Fujitsu service team and waited for 40 minutes to speak to someone. The support agent asked what outside temperature is I said 43 degree and then he goes "most brands will struggle under this temperature. Maybe nothing wrong with the unit so do you want to wait until weather cools down and then try again?" The way how he said this made me felt like he is saying that I am a...Read more
n idiot to call for support and this breakdown is completely normal and nothing to angry about. I asked "is this a joke? If an air cond doesn't work on a hot day what is point buying one? my other Panasonic unit in the lounge has been running for 5 hours today and works fine under the same weather condition" Then he goes "why don't you go buy Panasonic then?" I was just speechless, he really meant that it was my fault to choose Fujitsu and so I should just suck it up. When I asked if this how he handles a frustrated customer he goes "if you don't respect me (is the question "is this a joke" offensive language, seriously?), then we don't want you to be our customer". I had enough with this guy and asked to speak to his manager. Frankly I wouldn't say customers are always right but you don't talk to your customer like this especially after your product failed. I am very very disappointed because under the same weather condition other brands air cond. work just fine but Fujitsu unit doesn't, so improve your build quality please and stop cutting corner using cheap material which let down the coil efficiency. In the end I demanded to speak to his manager and the lady was quite reasonable and know how to deal with frustrated customer. He was right though, fan started working again at 7pm after temperature dropped to 35 degree. It turns out that Fujitsu air cond. can not handle above 40 degree weather condition and simply shuts itself down. If you want a reliable aircond. that works in hot days as you would expect, go for other brands and pay a little bit extra. Do not fall into Fujitsu's bonus gift card trap!
Purchased in August 2021 at Harvey Norman for $799.00.

Do not buy - Not user friendly
Biggest shortcoming - no left to right Airflow Direction so unless you have a small room and the unit is installed centrally, you cant adjust the airflow direction. I didn't even know they made A/C without this feature these days as it is such an important feature.
I am IT savvy person but to set a sleep timer, it is a 4 button procedure which is not intuitive.
I bought the above unit because it had WIFI but it was NOT easy to setup and I have given up, will re-visit it when I have to use this feature.
Couple of times it went it to HUMAN SENSOR...Read more

Made our summer nights so much more comfortable!
We bought this unit for our bedroom as it can be so uncomfortable for sleeping on hot humid nights which we frequently have in summer and it works like a charm!
Also great for warming the bedroom up prior o retiring in the winter.

Noisy gurgling and fan noise
Just fitted and running on heat mode for winter at 23c, and every time the compressor kicks in it starts winning, then gurgles though to the indoor unit for about 30sec to a minute then hot air blows. Once it reaches desired temp in room, outdoor unit stops and the gurgling noise starts up again, kind of like a draining sound. Plastics noisey. Spoke to installer and they say it’s normal, it’s to do with the valves opening and closing. If that’s the case then why design it this way. Installer said all aircons do this to which I replied, none of the others we have do this.
I’ll be calling Fujitsu today.

Excellent product for a medium bedroom
I had one of these installed in December and it has been excellent for a medium sized bedroom. Kept the room nice and cool in summer and heats well in winter (although I don't use it much in Winter). Super happy with the product, it's very quiet and energy efficient. Lots of features although I don't really do much more than turn it on and let it do its thing. Very happy with this product

Good but not the best
I have one installed in my master bedroom and I got another for the kid's room. I have a couple of other brand aircon installed as well and this is what I have found.
Fujitsu is a good brand. It uses R32 refrigerant which is considered as "better for the environment" type. The aircon is powerful and it cools the room down pretty fast. It comes standard with 4 different modes. Dry, heat, cool and fan. The lowest temperature is 18 degrees Celsius and the highest is 30.
However, I have the compressor mounted to the brick wall. The vibration from...Read more
this machine is crazy. When I turn it on, I can literally feel the whole brick wall vibrates together with it. Another fact is that I don't know if the plastic is made of high-quality plastic but compare to the other aircons that I owned, it creeks a lot. Especially when you turn on the heater during winter and when you turn it off, it creeks non stop which will annoy the hell out of you. Overall it is ok, but if you want a quieter aircon, don't go with this.Purchased in May 2021 at Appliance Central for $820.00.

Excellent for my baby's room!
We purchased this smaller air con for our small baby's room. We had used bigger Fujitsu units before for our living room and bedroom and again, it didnt disappoint us this time. It's really quick to cool down the room in the summer weather. It's quiet, great for bub's sleep. And we love using the timer function so that it's not too cold overnight. Very happy with the purchase.

Vibrations on the 3.5kw ASTG12KMCB Wifi model & wifi server is below satisfactory.
Have had two Fujitsu units installed on 21Dec18 one a 5Kw and a 3.5Kw. Have both units installed on a blue board wooden frame construction house right next to each other, both with isolation mounts.
So like a few people here the 3.5Kw system is noisy as hell. Like something is missing inside the unit?? Being well diverse in fault finding I went to investigate the installation. Awesome Aircon
Personally I'm happy with this Aircon. The size is not too big so it fits great in my small bedroom. It is quite and the breeze keeps me cool during the hottest summer. If you haven't used it for a while it might blow an unpleasant odor when you turn it back on for the first few seconds. However, in spite of that, this Aircon is great and good value for money.

GREAT COOLING
Fairly quiet unit for single bedroom. Keeps room very comfortable even on the hottest of days. Only disappointment it doesn’t have side ways swing, only up and down. Had small issue in beginning but Fujitsu came straight out and helped me. So great customer service. Plenty of fan speeds and can set a times for it to go on and off. Highly recommend.

Long wait for installation from 8th to 20th December 2018. Has never worked since testing by installer. Installer came back and could not fix the problem. Still waiting for the Fujitsu service person to come and repair it. Current temperature in the 40cs. Not much fun for a machine manufactured by a company that claims to be the most trusted in their industry. CAVEATE EMPTOR.

Horrible remote control
Well it heats and cools as it should but the most important part (the remote is absolutely horrible). It’s cumbersome and (this is the part that’s hard to understand) the there no backlight! So, for a aircon that is used in a bedroom you have to turn the lights on in the night to adjust the settings! Good luck getting the timer to work. It’s complicated and you will need to practice. Instructions are vague or inaccurate as I had to deviate from what my interpretation was to get the timer to work. My 20 year old LG aircon had very simple timer and back light. It’s not rocket science and you would expect a reputable brand to get it right. I suggest that Fujitsu should find new engineers and develop more user friendly devices.

Units generate excessive vibration. Not suitable for wall mounted applications.
I purchased two of these units with the WIFI control (ASTG09KMCB) for heating/cooling of upstairs bedrooms in a two story townhouse. I also purchased the larger (ASTG18KMCB) model for heating/cooling of the living room downstairs. able and hence after reading the following review we contacted Fujitsu; https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2685948 The Fujitsu tech said it was the worst vibration he had seen (the vibration would rattle items on shelves two rooms away) and after a number of weeks and approx 6 follow up calls Fujitsu finally fitted the embelton rubber dampeners (or a service agent did). This improved the harshness of the vibration but did not eliminate the resonating low frequency vibration. Using a phone app the noise still measured 50 decibel and would wake our young baby. The service agent advised that most vibration complaints are in winter as the air is more dense and hence more vibration is generated. Hence we contacted Fujitsu again (well another 6 times to get a response) and they reviewed the case and blamed the house construction, installation etc and advised they would not assist further. Hence we paid another $1000 to have the two units relocated off the wall and to roof mount or mounted on a brick wall further (5m) away. The results; The unit moved to the brick wall no longer transmits the vibration into the house however when outside I noticed this unit still generates more noise than the larger unit which doesn't have the vibration dampeners. The unit moved to roof mount was initially installed without the vibration dampeners and still generated significant vibration, however once fitted with the dampeners the vibration was solved. Hence I believe that these units have a design flaw resulting in excessive vibration. I would not install these units on any wall or roof mount knowing about this vibration. I was also quite disappointed in Fujitsu's attitude and poor response in returning calls for the follow up etc.1 comment

We bought the 3.5 kW last year for our room then needed one for the living room but when going to buy one this year found the price has gone up so the 2.5 is at the price we paid last year for the 3.5. The 3.5 has been great and as for the new 2.5 it better work good as they recommended it would work for the small room we fitted in but the 3.5 can't handle very well our room so am worried

Best Aircon for your bedroom
I bought this unit Aug 2018 (In winter) and used it to heat my bedroom. This was the best investment I made in my home and I love it.
Great investment. This unit has 4 star energy rating. Cost is very competitive with other competitors.
Also excellent to heat the heat the nearest room during the winter. The unit easily heats this area in the winter. LOVE IT!
The unit is also doing it's job extremely silently inside and outside.
Overall very happy with the product.

Hi Ben, Thank you for taking the time to place your feedback on Product Review. Your custom is important to us. In regards to your question please be advised the error 94 is a trip detection error. As you have already checked for ay clog or interference we would suggest a reset of your unit turning off at the power supply for 5-10mins to see if this will clear for you. If not, then please call to speak to our QLD Service Team who will do their best to advise the soonest time a technician can attend. Tel: 1300 364 484.

working for you, Like most air conditioners on the market, our units are designed to operate at a maximum outdoor temperature of 46 degrees. Once the outdoor approaches this temperature, it will start to reduce its capacity which also happens with all brands. Depending on the installation conditions, if the outdoor is installed in an area where it can recycle its own discharge air such as down the side of the house, it will suck in its own air which is approximately 15 degrees above ambient air. This also reduces the machine's capacity and instead of the unit being able to function at an ambient outdoor temperature of 43 degrees, it cannot as the actual air it is trying to operate within is far hotter than that. If the capacity of the outdoor unit drops below what is required to condition your area, then the unit will take a longer time to cool the room or will protect itself from catastrophic failure by stopping. Another point is that all air conditioning will work better when given ample time to operate in cooler ambients which is why we recommend turning the air conditioner on whilst the outdoor temperature is mild and not waiting for the heat to come to then turn the AC on. The indoor temperature along with the outdoor temperature will affect the unit's capacity and if both are on the higher end of the operating range, performance will be affected. Again, these are not brand specific problems but the fundamentals of air conditioning. If you wish for a service technician to visit please don't hesitate to contact us Tel: 1300 364 484 and we will do our best to assist.
