Total paradigm shift in orthodontic treatment
Before i joined this course,we were taught in university that the orthodontic treatment were based on dental issues per se.
Dr Mahony taught us the EODO students that dental and face and breathing method should be in harmony and needs to be balance in human.
I totally recommend this course for general practitioner to expand their knowledge in order to give the best treatment for patients.

Amazing results!
My two children have been seeing Dr Mahony for years now. Each had a number of issues to contend with and Dr Mahony worked step by step to correct all their issues. The results have been amazing! I would highly recommend Dr Mahony and the Full Face Orthodontics team.

Very experienced and knowledgeable orthodontist
I have known Derek Mahony and referred hundreds of patients to his practice during my time as a dentist.
He understands that straightening teeth is a multi-factorial process and that people have crooked teeth because of a number of physiological reasons including airways and sleeping disorders.
He is one of the most knowledgeable orthodontists in the world.
He is the orthodontist i referred four of my nephews to for treatment.
He's the best!

This a a the best place for orthodontics
All the orthodontists here are fantastic, and Dr Mahony was able to pick up on my childs breathing issues during sleep, which had been causing behavourial problems and was really affecting the whole family. Since Dr Mahony was able to correct my son's breathing with orthodontics, it feels like I have a new child. I'm just really so thankful. It's invaluable. I've been telling everyone just so other parents can be aware that these issues can have an actual physical reason, and not just that our kids are bad.

Holistic approach in treatment
Dr Mahony and his team are very knowledgeable. Dr Mahony looks at the whole face and not just teeth. He cares about his patients and aims to help them get not just straight teeth but good looking face and better health and airway.

Treatment
Dr Mahony has a degree in sleep medicine. I am Extremely happy with my outcome regarding my Sleep apnoea. After treatment I’m sleeping better and have stopped snoring. I was told I’d need a CPAP machine by my previous orthodontist.
Would recommend Full Face Orthodontics

This place had totally changed my life!
To start off with, I would like to congratulate the staff and orthodontist at Randwick FFO for the fantasy work of realigning my teeth. And a special thanks to Dr Mahony for taking in my case and fixing my teeth. Now it is all fixed and it looked the same, if not better than before!
I was first introduced to FFO by my own dentist after a traumatic misadventure resulting in the loss of one front tooth. I had travelled all over sydney to talk plans with other orthodontists to see if they could fix it. But all of them suggested tooth implants wh...Read more
ich they are unable to perform on me given my age. However, when I presented myself to Dr Mahoney for our first appointment, he immediately proposed an alternate plan to realign my teeth without needing an implant. Now, after 2 years I jam finally getting them off, with my teeth look the best it ad ever been. The braces also came with the added benefit of correcting my overbite and refined my jawline, which is another pleasant surprise. Overall, I would like to give my gratitude to Dr Mahony, Dr John and every staff working here, you have all made a change in my life. And thanks again to the hard work you had put into making my experience memorable.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Rip off your money
I have class 3 malocclusion and I went to full face orthodontics in randwick because He is one of the best orthodontics in sydney, based on google . I would not recommend this, for me it very pricey . You have to go 3x consultation for you to get a treatment plan, each consultation cost you aud 150 . 1st consultation was only 10 mins. He will just look for your teeth- not even a mins, then you will have scan teeth with the machine, this will cost another 150. The last consultation he would give you treatment plan which is only 10 mins consul...Read more
tation. In 1st consultation, he mentioned that he would not recommend extraction teeth for non surgery . The treatment plan that he recommend was surgery and non surgery with TADs. He mentioned with surgery, I do not need to go gum specialist to check the gum and laser tongue tie. However with non surgery I have to go those procedure before the treatment start. He had arranged meeting with surgeon for TADs, and it was free which is handful for me as I already paid aud 450. However he had advised that the extraction teeth is required even with surgery and non surgery . With surgery the extraction is required 2x wisdom upper teeth and for non surgery 2x wisdom lower teeth. He mentioned that TADs are required for both option which is different treatment plan as per 3rd consultation. Anyway when I asked question, he said that I and TADs surgeon are busy person, do not ask same question. I asked some question because I was confused, he gave me different story again. Then he passed me to his assistance if I have more question . I asked his assistance, if I go with non surgery how many teeth have to be extracted and she ( his assistance ) advised it shall be 4 tooth. I sent email to get clarification and he replied 2 tooth. I do not go with the treatment because I feel he doesn’t care about the patients . He is too busy to answer my question even I already paid 450. He passed me to his assistance who is not professional at all and unable to answer my question correctly.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Bad experience.
Messed around by staff - not impressed.
Would not recommend.
Business model is purely focused on generating sales with cold business minded staff who act unfairly toward their patients/ potential patients.
Also arrogant attitude.

Great experience!
I had an appointment for my son last week with Dr. Mahony at the Neutral Bay practice.
We were delighted with the consultation and clear explanation provided for our son's first appointment.
The fact the staff also explained us each step precisely and we were taken care very patiently.
I would definitely recommend other people to get their children treated by Dr.Mahony.

Full Face Orthodontics --> Painful, Stressful, Wasteful, Expensive
Second thing you'll notice is that [name removed] is nowhere to be seen after the first appointment and once you've signed up - once you've signed, the bait and switch occurs.
* Repeated breaking of brackets and wires within hours and days of fitting
* Multiple young, inexperienced orthodontists you've never seen before
* Contradictory advice from the previous appointment
* Rude practice staff
* Fees that are overcharged at the beginning in order to offer you a "substantial discount" at the end,
* Small referral network to oral surgeons that rough, rude and painful
* Errors in invoicing that always seem to be not in your favor0

Amazing building and amazing experience
I visited Full Face Orthodontics in Randwick for a patient exam regarding my airways and breathing. The building has an incredible giant TV and I learnt so much about oral health before even consulting with Dr Mahony. Derek Mahony is a true pro and my experience was overall 5 stars. Thankyou Full Face Orthodontics

Amazing outcome
Dr Mahony straightened my teeth without pulling any of them out, I also improved my breathing and sleeping issues. I had 2 orthodontist’s opinion before and they all agreed I needed to do some extractions. Honestly I’m pretty happy with this outcome! Great job Full Face Orthodontics.
December 30th 2022 Update: Excellent early intervention
Great place to go if you want to prevent major orthodontics work in the future.
My daughter had an expander and braces afterwards and the outcome of the treatment is just amazing !! 110% recommended !!

Orthodontics with the need for extractions.
My son just had his braces removed at Full Face Orthodontics. I couldn't be happier. We saw 3 other orthodontists before deciding on Dr Mahony. All the others wanted to pull out 4 teeth, but Mahony made the space with an expander. Even my dentist was amazed at the outcome

Recommending too much treatment and poor service
My 10 yo daughter was referred to the FULL FACE ORTHODONTIC’S Orthodontist because she occasionally snores and has mild allergies such as Hay fever.
We had two $150 appointments with the Orthodontist, the second of which both my wife and I attended. The Orthodontist was arrogant with my wife and I and he seemed to not like it when I asked him direct questions. When I asked why he was recommending to refer my daughter to an ENT specialist and a Myobrace Practitioner before he put the braces on to straighten my daughter's teeth he gave us this ...Read more
spiel about first fixing the allergies, the Myobrace treating the jaw structure and then he could put on the braces. For the rest of the appointment the Orthodontist would not look me in the eye and only spoke to my wife. The Myobrace practitioner operated out of the same office as the Orthodontist. Given the possible conflict of recommending a practitioner who operates from the same office, I thought the Orthodontist should have told us why he believed that this particular Myobrace practitioner was the best one to treat our child. If I had agreed to the Orthodontist's recommendations my daughter would have seen an ENT specialist, used a Myobrace for jaw growth and alignment and then braces to straighten her teeth. The cost for all the treatment could have been as high as $15k. We were very fortunate that we found an Orthodontist in Chatswood who, in our opinion, is excellent. This Orthodontist has recommended that my daughter use an upper mouth Palate Expander and braces for her lower teeth. The Expander will be removed and then braces applied to the upper teeth. The Orthodontist told us that the Expander will address the shape of her upper jaw which in turn will help her breathing and snoring. As for the allergies they are mild and our GP does not believe that the symptoms warrant my daughter seeing an ENT specialist.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I took my daughter there for a consultation. My daughter needs orthodontist treatment and was advised by two orthodontists that she needs to have four healthy teeth extracted before the treatment. I was then recommended by a friend that [name removed] could provide orthodontist treatment without any extraction so I took my daughter and visited him. Ridiculously I was told by the staff of the clinic that each patient has to go through three appointments before the one could know the cost and the treatment to be provided and other details eg how ...Read more
length of the treatment. And each appointment costs $150. Out of desperation, I went for the first appointment. I was asked for payment over the phone weeks before the appointment. On the day itself, [name removed] attended to my daughter for less than 10 mins, basically what he did was look at her teeth and got his assistant written few things on her file. I showed him the recommended treatment proposed by the orthodontist in a letter, together with the X Ray taken recently. Then I asked him about the standard questions ie can he get her teeth corrected without any extraction? How would the result be? How much it would cost? How long would she need to be in braces? I got no answer for all the standard questions that ought to be answered for a consultation that costs $150. I was “invited” to leave the room as [name removed] told his manager to deal with me as she was the one that put me in for the appointment! I honestly was impressed by how arrogant that orthodontist was. It was more ridiculous when I was trying to ask for his opinion whether my daughter needs to have four teeth extracted as advised by the orthodontist that we consulted before.. The so called orthodontist just pulled his face long immediately telling me to go outside his room and take a look at the wall and count how many certificates he has on it! I was puzzled and so was my daughter. I replied, I was not challenging his qualification at there, indeed I was there out of my due respect to his professionalism and qualifications. In short, he said that I was not supposed to have consulted other orthodontists before seeing him. And he also rudely said that I was confused in front of my daughter. My daughter, who is 11 yr-old, knew that we went for the first orthodontist who offered conventional braces treatment, then the second who offered Invisalign. Both actually expressed the need for four teeth to be extracted. [name removed] was the legendary one we heard from a friend that would not need tooth to be extracted. What’s wrong with having second or third opinions? Where is the patient’s autonomy? We did not pay for any consultation with the two orthodontists who gave us very friendly and detailed advice, except [name removed]! So, we did not get any advice with $150 paid, less than 10 mins, the sum was deemed to be burnt, and we were “chased” out from his room and then brought to upstairs of his clinic where we were told to pay for another $150 for my daughter to get pictures taken. I asked what’s the need as we have pictures and X Rays taken before. Nevertheless we were told that this is the standard procedure of their clinic that each and every walk in patient has to go through three appointments with $150 charges each, only then the patient be able to know how long the treatment would be, costs and everything that we wanted to know. It was like either we let the hole in our pocket be burnt bigger or else the $150 spent would just lead us to no where. She went on telling me that she could do we a favour to have the second appointment done on that day itself without the need to wait for next week or weeks. I asked how long would it take for the second appointment ie the photos taking, the manager said it would be less than 5 mins, which turned out to be true. So, on that day, they attended to my daughter for less than 15 mins, we were required to pay $300 with no conclusion neither any advice given to my daughter regarding the orthodontic treatment that they could offer or provide her. We were given a pc of CD with Damon System offered by their clinic which can be watched from YouTube. We were told that everything could only be answered in the third appointment, with another $150 payable. I am writing this, is to warn all the parents out there, there is nothing magical about this orthodontist except his arrogant and commercialism. Damon system is one of the brands of conventional braces. It does not offer magic but claimed to deliver result in shorter term and less pain.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
