Beware Of Dodgy Thieving Self Claimed "Family" Business.
This company has not returned my bond that was promised and is asking for full payment of a castle that was cancelled. He is now sending me DIY “debt collecting” letters. Lucky we paid the bond using a credit card where we can put in a dispute on the credit card transaction through our bank.

Extremely unprofessional. We had been in contact with a representative from Funtime from the beginning and had specified all necessary details for our hire (type of ground, colour of objects etc.). The price we had received and paid was confirmed to be our final price, but less than a week before our event Funtime had tried to add on costs that were not initially discussed, tried to put the blame back on us and did not offer any compensation after they acknowledged that this was their mistake and not ours. ntil the day before, and although we had agreed on a specific time that was stated on the invoice, they had kept trying to change this although we stated many times that our drop-off time was based on our venue hire. Marquee also arrived on the day damaged and had caused some delay in our set-up. Despite our poor experience with their customer service, the driver was the highlight of the company- very courteous and punctual, extremely apologetic about the damaged marquee and had assisted us as best as possible on the day. Bond was paid back on time.

Drop off and pick up times will vary, however I can see even though we were given a very small timeframe to work within we still managed to meet your need. Completing 100's of jobs a week will always have changes depending on the customer however as noted we worked within your time frame perfectly. The marquee frame did have a bar which broke, however that was cosmetic and the driver stated the marquee was in working over and couldn't actully see it as it was one of the top bars. This has since been replaced. Thanks for your review about the driver, we'll be sure to pass this on and use your feedback to improve the business. Worst people to deal with
I was told to pay a $50 bond to secure my booking which is refunded after the event.After calling many many times asking why the bond wasn’t refunded they would say 5 working days it will be in the account it’s been 4 weeks now. I don’t recommend these thieves who steal off people for a living disgusted!!!its happened to lots of people.

Do not hire from these people!
These people are forcing me to pay for a service I had no choice but to cancel due to government restrictions and will not be returning my deposit of $50. I am reaching out to fair trading ombudsman. If your thinking of hiring from this Company. Don't.
I hired a jumping castle for my daughters 6th Birthday Party which has now been cancelled due to government restrictions and this company are forcing me to postpone without the offer of returning my funds.The response I've received from [name removed] is well we can still deliver as we are a delivery service" to throw it back in my face that I can not hold the event due to the covid19 restrictions by saying "oh well we can still deliver" so this is my problem is disgusting.

BAD SERVICE
I hired this company for my son's 1st Birthday on Saturday and am disgusted at their port service and quality of their product. The drivers vehicle broke down, the jumping castle deflated, luckily the children did not get injured and I managed to get them off the castle. I had to then contact the main line and it took me 4 consecutive tries to get someone on the line who then did not know there was a pick up Time. I then called a few time to provide feedback and was told by one of their representative that they did not know who to put me through to make a complai t and all she can do is pass on a message. Unprofessional, I called again 3 times and managed to speak with a Shandel Brown and again said the same thing. Management do not care and I advise anyone looking to hire through these people DO NOT DO IT. I paid $610 and then they tell me I had to pay $70?? I sent them 2 emails to which no one has gotten back to me on. Never going to hire through them ever again and have made a formal complaint. Disappointed and disgusted at their lack of services, product and how they supposedly have bad phones lines. Never have I had an experience like this. They RIP you off and do not respond to anything. provided a photo to you, it was bone dry. We had no calls from you on the day, and only after when you were calling for the pick up time, because of the break down the driver was late. The pick up time we provided you was an ETA, and we provided a 2 hour window for pick up. The person you would've spoken to was our live answering service who only take messages and pass them onto us.So it took your team 3 days to get back to me and my emails? Wow very prompt.

I find it really sad that with all the hysteria happening at the moment we decided to cancel our party and booking and they refuse to give us a $50 refund. Considering i also run an events based business we have been inundated with cancellation and have a "non refundable" deposit but under these circumstances have had the heart to refund everything in full! Very disappointing. Will not be using this company or recommending this company ever.

o date 1500 bookings coming up in the next 6 months and our customers are still actively booking daily. The only customers that are postponing event currently are events that attract more then 500 people. We have taken early steps and emailed our customers and explained to them their options of either postponing, proceeding or cancelling.And now you've stooped to a lower level and left a bad review on my business page.

Completely unprofessional, cancelled my hire 2 days before my function with an email couldn’t even call, when I tried to call couldn’t get put through to anyone was told someone would call me back and surprise no one ever called me back, was told that my refund couldn’t be processed same day as it needed to get approved by 3 people why when they cancelled the hire . No customer service skills at all such a headache to deal with would NOT recommend them at all

The soft serve ice cream was a success for young & old!
We love the ease of dealing with Funtime! The delivery was on time, everything was as explained, and operating the soft serve machine was a cinch! Everything was picked up as explained as well. It was such an easy transaction and when hosting a party for 75 people, it is exactly what we needed!
We will definitely use Funtime again!

Appalling Service
Our company used Funtime Party Hire for a fate we had organised. First of all, the employees were half an hour late to set up. Then, because they were running late, they would not listen to our instructions regarding where to set up the marquees because they were 'late for their next appointment'. On top of this, the fairy floss machine did not work, and before we could even ask questions the employees had run off to their next job. They were extremely rude and unaccommodating. Jumping castle and slushy machine
Leading up to the party we had a few changes and every time I called the person taking the call was always helpful, understanding and was actually able to explain things.... this is the first time we have ever hired party equipment so i was nervous about the day....
Funtime Party hire contacted me the day before and asked if it would be okay to drop everything off the night before - this made the following day alot easier!

We had 50 adults and 30 kids at the party and after 6 hours of hire it was obvious that we didn’t need anything else.... we hired the medium sized jumping castle with external slide and the twin tub slushy.... this was perfect for our party - it really made our night! I would only say if you are worried about anything read their terms and conditions and if you are still not sure - call.... Ripped me off by saying I didn’t put enough money in envelope and went to my husband who was not aware. Then the castle was unsafe and kept deflating so we couldn’t even use it. The Velcro logo was that broken it wouldn’t stick.
They took no responsibility, I would hire elsewhere!

Do not use this company - Dishonor and provide bad machine
I hired a slushies machine, snow cone machine and 3 power extension cables. At the beginning sign the contract it said will supply good condition machine and clean. They asked for deposit, and it will get refund after hire period. I did as they request. On the day of event the machines delivery late, supplied only 1 power cable but charge still charged 3. Snow cone machine the blade blunt did not work properly. When I made a call for help the girl on phone said she will find someone that can help and will call back but she didn't. I spoke with them on the 14/02/2020 about 9:40 am. Spoke with Chandelle asking if there is heavy rain and can not use the jumping castle we were looking at booking (due to the recent heavy rain event we've been having in NSW) for a party, do we lose the $50 deposit. She said yes (which is fair enough) however, she also said you CAN NOT cancel, only reschedule for another date. And if we chose not to use it at all and not reschedule, we would STILL have to pay the full amount ($240) for something we did not even get. This is even if we don't use it at all and no matter how much notice we give. I asked to speak with a manager, waited on hold for 8 minutes and then they just simply hung up on me. Ridiculous!!

Hi Amy, this company does not return bond money at all. It's quite a scam actually. Read through the reviews and you can see it's all similar nightmare stories. I've hired from them way back and they haven't refunded my money back. That was 4 months ago. We had to escalate it to fair trading. I'm sorry for your experience.

This company is totally dodgy and currently not even answering phone calls. I havent received my bond back and my castle arrived 2 hrs late. If I were you I would quickly organize another company and cut your losses. I have made a complaint to department of fair trading.

I made a compaint to Fair Trading too but they had every excuse under the sun so no result and FT are pretty much a toothless tiger. Hope you have better luck! Jessica cut your losses, contact your banking institution and proactively stop the hire company from taking any more money from you - because they will sneak it out!

It's not a DIY collection letter, it's a letter provided by our collection company before we proceed with commencement of offical collection activity against you. The $50 bond you have paid is being held as you cancelled. You have cancelled on us and you make a review to say we are "Dodgy Thieving Self Claimed "Family" Business" Really? Your review is very misleading, especially during these times.
