great watch
good watch for tracking running and general cardio activities, not to useful for other activities such as gym or sports. Screens are a bit slow to respond but nothing too bad. Battery life is good, can get about 3 days through daily use whilst connected to bluetooth and using heart rate monitor.

Great product let down by a few bugs
I've owned this for a few years now, and whilst it was great at first it has slowly started to develop problems.
The bluetooth is constantly struggling to connect and sync, and the app is temperamental at best.
Spare parts are difficult to get in Australia, and any repairs will take a while if your repairer can get parts.

Great prodcut
Great product but sometimes has issues with connectivity with Bluetooth. Fast and accurate GPS system. Monitors my sleep quite well. Has a built in alarm system and has thousands of applications you can download on the Garmin App website. You can customize it to the Garmin of your dreams. Beware the screen can be scratched easily!

Handy
Good product. Have a approach s 6 watch for golf that I use but wanted something a bit more street savy. Got an Apple Watch s 3 as well but this this one takes the cake. Not too badly priced and if you get from a good supplier then great

Best Running Watch
I tried to avoid spending a lot of money on a fitness watch for a long time - I've used apps on my phone, MS band, motoactv, etc. But nothing stands up to Garmin watches. Here's why: it's accurate, locates GPS extremely fast, waterproof, and just works exactly how you want it to. I recommend taking a look at the manual to make sure you check out all the functions (i.e. I didn't know about the ability to lock your watch from accidentally pressing buttons, turning off notifications, etc. for too long). I hate carrying a bulky phone with me but even for those of you that don't mind, the garmin is a lot easier to turn on/off tracking if you're stopped at a traffic light or something - it also triangulates better as it uses more GPS satellites.

Great running watch
Bought my watch last year and have used it a lot since. The GPS connects quickly when I set it up for a run and I find the GPS tracking to be very accurate. I also enjoy the modified step count goal based on your previous activity.
Two downsides. The heart rate monitor isn't the most accurate and the Bluetooth may not connect with all phones. But if you are aware of these issues buying the watch, no regrets!

Does it all
This is way more than just a watch. My new Garmin was simple to connect with garmin apps on my phone which help me to track everything from my runs and swims to my daily meal planning, with comfortable heart rate monitor built in. Bluetooth features mean I literally keep notified on the run.

Great for all the basics
I've owned this Garmin for work months and am happy with it. The charge hold is very good. If GPS is not used, charge can hold for week or 2. It is easy to use once you get hang of navigation. Looks good and doesn't feel like wearing a sport watch.

Perfect for Runners
This is a great GPS watch that only needs to be recharged once a week. It also constantly tracks your heart rate and if you wear it to bed, it tracks your sleep. The android version of the software is good and even tracks your runs and other activities including a map of your route and splits and times for each km. The android notifications are basic but works. Great watch for running and cycling.

Fantastic watch for walking and bike riding
I bought this watch just over 6 months ago to use on my frequent bike rides to work. It is fantastic and allows me to track where I've been, generates useful elevation and heart rate graphs and keeps a record of how far I have rode. I also like the pedometer function and am always trying to achieve my 10k steps/day. I got this watch on special for quite cheap but would be willing to pay the RRP because it is great and has helped me continue to achieve my fitness goals.

Light and simple
Light weight, looks good.
Customisable but is limited in it's options. It has settings for running, cycling but not walking for some reason? I've used the 'other' mode to track walking.
Vibrates and beeps too often. I have changed the settings where I can but it still insists on buzzing every 1 km in the run mode. I have tried to change the settings, looking at the manual and googling it but cannot turn this off or change the distance to 2.5km. Annoying if you're running 12 km for it to buzz at you that often.
Battery lasts for a reasonable...Read more

Good while it worked, which was not long.
I bought a Garmin 235 in November and really loved its functionality and ease of use. The problem was that it stopped working by December, and Garmin has refused to replace it because I charged it using a third party USB charger. I'm not sure what caused the problem with the watch, but if it can't be charged by using a wall charger then it strikes me as too fragile to be of much use.

Good for heart rate feedback and tracking activity. Good battery life
Bought to replace a Tom Tom cardio whose battery life was not long enough for my needs. I have a heart condition that warrants checking pulse when exercising. I ride for about 5 hours twice a week and the battery has never gone flat during a ride. Statistics reported are extensive and perhaps go a bit too far. I prefered the Tom Tom reporting but am getting used to Garmin. (Tom tom graphs have two variables superimposed but Garmin only has single variables.) I am finding interest in resting heart rates - they vary from night to night.
The activities covered don't seem to be extensive.
I haven't seen how to download raw data but that might be me.

Good tracker
Purchased Garmin Forerunner 235 after MS Band 2 (actual band spilt on 5 different bands) received refund and Forerunner 235 was on special for 50% off so only $45 difference to buy 235. Probably more suitable as male watch as reasonable size but very lite weight on arm. The screen is both very good and only OK ... in direct sunlight the screen is very good but otherwise clarity is not as good as Amoled screen other times and night light is not that powerful ...but where such screen tech excels is battery life as easily get 7 days without charg...Read more
e with GPS and Bluetooth active. Garmin software is feature rich (slanted to outdoor sport) and seems quite accurate, customisable watch faces are good as long as use right background. Band is comfortable and good knowing waterproof so could wear in shower if so desire. Nice wearable especially now down from nearly $500 price point1 comment

Great motivation!!
I was given this watch for Christmas and am now addicted. I wear it every day and it really gives me the motivation to keep moving and try and improve on the previous day. I love the fact that it doesn't need a chest strap so it is much more comfortable. The information it gives is great, although not always 100% accurate and connects well with my phone.

This is a cheap, plastic watch
The technology of this product is pretty good and works as promised. The build quality is not.
I have had the watch for 16 months, and for most of this time has been used lightly, as a watch and daily step counter, maybe used in anger 10 times.
The plastic around the heart rate sensor has now cracked over one of the LED and I can see another beginning over a second. These cracks will inevitably lead to the death of this product, with water ingress etc.
The construction of the watch should have been more than a match for my usage, parti...Read more
cularly as I can’t even use it as intended for running and cycling. To make matters worse, the extended warranty (I use the term lightly) doesn’t cover manufacturing failure, so now I have an expensive and dying watch!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Competent activity tracker
I started off using Fitbit but it broke after 1 year. I started looking into Garmin and only then I realised what I was missing out on. The 235 has GPS build-in which means I can reduce my phone battery usage - or even leave the phone at home if I want to. The 235 has everything I need to get out to run! The software syncs up when connected to phone. Garmin Connect web portal also provides comprehensive activity information.

Surprisingly useful
I bought this for myself but teenage son has 'borrowed' it and is in love with it. I don't think I'm getting it back and will probably buy another.
It tracks lots of useful stuff and it's pretty easy to navigate and read.
Hopefully tracking our running progress will lead to more of same!

Better than my old TomTom and FitBit
Have this watch for just over a month and i can honestly say that this is the best fitness watch i have owned to date. This one replaces a hand me down TomTom Spark and previous to that a FitBit HR. The Garmin is by far the best out of the 3, leaving the FitBit for dead, as the build quality is far superior. I must say that the GPS in the Garmin is extremely quick and this is the major advantage over the TomTom. I have worn both the Garmin and TomTom watches at once and data is extremely close but the unfortunately the TomTom takes around 3 min...Read more
utes to get a GPS setting (and yes the latest software has been installed). The Garmin looks more like a traditional digital watch and you can customise it quite easily. It doesn't look too bulky on your arm, nor too heavy. I purchased the Garmin for $249, a substantial saving on the initial list price but a more realistic cost in my view. Battery life is good even when the GPS tracker is running as is the charging time. If you are semi serious and want a reliable tracker watch that is suitable for running, swimming, bike riding, etc. I would highly recommend it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I have a Garmin forerunner 235. Can I use to track where I walk and run on map displays? I would to see where I have walked or where I’m about to walk on a map. Can it be done? Everything else is fine.
